Meet My Hubbers: A to H: A guide to hubbers

Updated on November 11, 2012

With the thought of writing a tribute to my followers (and those I follow), I looked up 'tribute'. Surprisingly most of the tributes are either to bands or those who are deceased. You can write a tribute and post it on a website for someone deceased, amazing. Websites like forevermissed.com or paxmemoriam.com and more are available. As for bands and performers there are tributes all over the Internet. It seems like the most popular tributes are to the Beatles.

Moving right along, I then decided to just call this hub "Meet My Hubbers". These are my followers and hubbers I follow. Some you may know, some you may not, but I guarantee you each and every one of them is a hubber with style and personality! I have not selected these above all others, its just a matter of space and time, I'd love to write about everyone of my 410 followers but room does not permit. ALL of my followers are great! Please followers, know I did not mean to leave anyone out, I randomly chose some to introduce. Who knows, maybe there'll be another A to H including those left out here.

I like to read hubs about other hubbers. One of the reasons;

See results

Why now? After seventeen months on hub pages why write this now? Well to tell the truth I am just so overwhelmed by the kindness and generosity of my fellow hubbers! My hubs have had over 100,000 views...that just boggles my mind, I don't know about yours...and I know a lot of those views are due to my great followers.

By way of introduction to this hub, now let me introduce you to some of my followers (no, I'm not going to write about all of them in this hub, I wish I could). I hope my introduction will help you learn a little more about my friends and maybe make them your friends too! Yes, I did introduce some in my hub 2012 Voting Ideas but I figure many of you might've passed that one by. I have just put a short synopsis by each hubber.

Let's begin with Au fait...interesting name for an interesting hubber. (Au fait means at fact.) To quote from her profile "I often write on education, home schooling, psychology, sleep patterns, nature, health, and more..." You can't miss with Au fait and that's a fact!

Austinstar - Lela is a Choctaw Indian who has been described as being creative and sassy! She writes about Native Americans, Aztec and Mayan Culture, photography, recipes, and more...you can see where 'creative' comes in, you'll have to check her out to find out about the sassy!

Kenneth Avery - Ken's sense of humor is only surpassed by his wonderful creativity! A statement from his profile tells you more about Ken, " I am grateful for my followers and want to produce the hub that will not only cause you to think, but maybe laugh a little, for in this present day, it never hurts anyone to take a minute to laugh."

Bac2basics - She is interested in returning to the basics and writes about money saving and basic skills according to her profile page. But she writes much more...hubs about vacations, poems, hubs about the paranormal...an all 'round gal!

Billybuc - Thinking about what I was going to say about Bill gave me nightmares. How do you describe someone who is caring, socially aware, funny, astute, intelligent, kind, helpful and more? It's not easy. To quote Bill, "Good writers actually stun their readers and that is what I hope for." He actually does that in many ways.

Deborah Brooks - She says, "Writer of poems, and love stories..fiction." A special lady with a special talent...her poems just keep on flowing! She's reached 500 followers and there's no one can 'top' her!

Cogerson - we must deduce he is modest because there are no pictures of him, anywhere! He's a stay at home dad with an interest in baseball and movies. His movie hubs follow his "movie score" pattern and are unbelievably informational, and he's a nice guy.

Peg Cole - Peg is retired and writes great hubs but I've gotta tell you her ongoing series, The Pub, is a must read. She draws you in and keeps you there..she's up to chapter three and I'm hoping there's a chapter four!

Lord de Cross - voted "Best Community Activist" on August 6th, 2012 and that's only the tip of the iceberg. His math hubs are not only interesting and educational but fun to read but his hubs don't start or stop there.... there's a lot to Lord de Cross!

Diogenes - I don't know if Bob is looking for an honest man but I can tell you his writing is honest. His subjects are varied from health to travel. Bob once said, " You hubbers own me. You can reduce me to happy tears...We are a special group on this site." Get the idea? Great guy and hubber.

Docmo - The one and only! He smoulders, he writes, he invites. There's no one like Docmo. He is a writer extraordinaire whether writing poetry, fiction or informational hubs on health. He is what every writer aspires to be! His series on the 'Imp' and 'Winnie the Pooh' are not to be missed.

Shea Duane - Shea's an English teacher and provides us with a lot of 'refresher' information! ... she even has articles on the S.A.T.'s...how's that for an English teacher? Her recipes and government hubs are not to be missed. She also writes beautiful articles about children.

Eclectic Fusion - As diverse as her name implies. Poems, hubs about health, movies, crafts, and more. She "loves the hour just before dawn" and you can't lose reading her hubs before dawn or anytime!

kdubarry03 - This is an amazing young talent. From 'how to write' to 'pets and animals' he covers them all. However, though he excels in everything his short stories are creative and most are 'scary' and far above the norm. He writes so well in that genre its unbelievable!

Elayne001 - Elayne currently hails from Hawaii and shares the traditions and food of Hawaii with us. Elayne is also an incredible artist. She is a member of The Windward Artists Guild and Association of Hawaii Artists. Her art shines through in her hubs.

Fpherj48 - Paula/Effer...there is no way to describe this lady so you'll have to just try to understand. Effer has come through a lot of difficulties with her sense of humor in tact. Her writing can be serious and it can be witty...she can do whatever she wants and is a valuable member here in Hubville and a fantastic friend!

Audrey Howitt - is a singer and one of our wonderful poets! In nine months Audrey has written seventy poems. She gets comments like, " Your poetry is always superb, Audrey!" and "Wow! Audrey..wow! You don't write, my friend - you create!" Stop and see her and be prepared to like poetry!

jhamann - A real family man. Mr. Hamann writes lovingly about his children and love in general. He has a variety of hubs including poems, hubs about literature and more. One of his fan mails reads, "Interesting and unusual. Looking for more hubs about painting."

That's not fair Maria . . . you know I never said such a thing - it was the result of an unprovoked nominating process and election. I never said I was "really smart" - I was simply notified that this was the case.

    • marcoujor profile image

Oh, speaking of 'Crazy', dear Mary...'In My Life', that would be ICKEY-MAY...

    • MickeySr profile image

MickeySr 4 years ago from Hershey, Pa.

tillsontitan ~ I honestly wasn't trying to insert myself into your hubbers guide here . . . just having a bit of fun, that I now feel a bit embarrassed by, so, please don't go visit any of my hubs based on this ill-conceived promotion of myself as a hubber of any interest to others.

And don't leave any glowing comments, don't share them in any manner, etc . . . especially not my hubs on music, or my poetry, or hubs on how in love I am with my wife, etc, please don't check any of those hubs out.

(and, if your reply to this is nothing more than "Don't worry, I won't", then I'm going to propose to you - unless you actually don't)

I have a feeling I have to go read some of your hubs man whose name starts with an "M", ends with a "Y" and has "icke" in the middle!

    • MickeySr profile image

MickeySr 4 years ago from Hershey, Pa.

. . . why, I'm sure I don't know what you mean . . ? But, I do think it's like a law here at HubPages - all interviews, tributes, or any manner of acknowledgment of hubbers must begin with hubbers whose name starts with an 'M', ends with a 'y', and has 'icke' in the middle, and if there are more than one hubber whose name fits this requirement, those who are 'Sr's are to move to the top of the list . . . and, something about bald men being first too I think. I'm just telling you the rules - I hate to see you bring unnecessary trouble to yourself.

Maria, a mild imitation of your wonderful interviews, this is a way to get to know each other. So happy you enjoyed!

Now Mickey are you trying to tell me something?

    • MickeySr profile image

MickeySr 4 years ago from Hershey, Pa.

I honestly don't want to be critical, but, I think it's like a rule around here that all interviews, tributes, or any manner of acknowledgment of hubbers are supposed to start with 'M'.

    • marcoujor profile image

Maria Jordan 4 years ago from Jeffersonville PA

      Dear Mary,

I know this is going to be a series that I refer to until I have mastered it. I love about half of the wonderful individuals on this list already so I know I will agree with those friends of yours that I do not yet know...

Not only do I enjoy their work, their comments are a fun read too. I just wish I had time to comment as often as I read their work. I do appreciate them and you, for putting this together.
