Lensography Retire Young and Travel The World...

Updated on January 16, 2015

Andy's "Lensography" (Home Page) How to Retire Young and Travel the World

I am a semi-professional travel photographer (i.e. I once sold a few photos) and semi-retired consultant physicist (i.e. unemployed boffin) but with a keen interest in finance (i.e. how to get rich quick)

I live, with my wife and two children in Richmond-upon-Thames in West London, England, next to the beautiful Richmond Park, where deer roam free and cars are mostly stationary.

This lens is all about wildlife and photography, how to retire young and travel the world and of course how to finance it...

and a bit about Classic Cars, cooking and anything else I decide to write about. (If you want to know even more about me I have written a more detailed lensography...)

My "Rain forests of Borneo" Lens was awarded Lens of the Day (Twice!) and a "Purple Star":"

Over the last 25 years I have travelled all over Europe, Africa, Asia and North and South America and I am publishing articles and some photographs from many of my travels here. I am particularly keen on wildlife photography.

Here are a few of my other squidoo lenses, reviews and photos:

Classic Cars

Finance Articles

Gold. The ultimate portfolio insurance as the world economy collapses

As the dollar, euro, sterling and yen collapse against other major currencies gold and silver should retain value. It won't pay a dividend or make you rich, but it should help prevent becoming poor.

Buying gold coins on eBay is actually a very cost-effective way of acquiring exposure to precious metals.

Cooking

Another passion is cooking (and eating) but I have never been much good at making bread or cakes... Until now.

I've just discovered breadmakers:

My Silicon Chip Design Consulting Company

And a bit more about me and my company

I am currently living in the U.K. and after 20 years working in the electronic design industry as a design consultant, I have finally gone out on my own to form my own consulting company, but I have also diversified into travel and wildlife photography, a life-long passion. I also have a keen (non-professional) interest in "Financial Engineering" i.e. How to get rich...er (although my company does not provide financial advice and these are entirely for personal interest and should not be taken as a recommendation to invest)

And a few more Articles

Some articles about photo-editing software, computers and digital scanners:

Apple Macbook

Some Classic Cars Articles:

I have also written an article about HiFi Record Players (Gramophones, Record Decks, Turntables or whatever you want to call them)

how nice is it really if we all can retire young, but life is hard, governments all over the world is talking about austerity measures, some even suggested extending the mandatory retirement age to 65.Retiring early is just a wishful thinking.

What a great life...somehow we do live a similar life with our own consulting firm except that we are much older. Admire you for living such a life at your age. All the best.

I guess I'm semi retired but not getting rich. Stopped by to say hi and let you know I'm thinking warm thoughts of you two. Hope all is well and you're having some fun. I'm going to take a mini vacation over Labor Day weekend in hopes of shooting some more orbs, relax and get away form it all. No computer, phone, TV, grandkids, and lots of campfires.

I've done some travelling, but no retiring yet. I'm under 30, so retiring is way down the road (but doing it young and travelling sounds pretty good). Great lensography.

The silicon chip design business has been very slow in 2008, but then I didn't intend to do much consulting - after-all I am "semi-retired" I did quite a lot of travel and lots of study.

I just came over from your Silicon Chip design web-site. I didn't realize you were so well traveled. Interesting articles. How is the chip-design business going?

      Cheers...

      Hi Daz,

Welcome to Squidoo. It's certainly a bit different to dooyoo.

The money comes in rather slowly initially, so you have to wait about two months before anything happens.

It's fun though and you can add lots of photos.

      Cheers,

      Andy

Hey, Andy-Po! You have 'hot' info...keep it coming. Thanks! You got it going on, so don't get discouraged by people that might give this lens a low star. I will return for your updates, because you make a lot of scenes.

Nice lensography, I am very envious of your travels. 5***** and I am looking forward to visiting the rest of your lenses.

I would love to go back to Iguacu, it's one of the most amazing places I have been to - I travelled for 12 years around Central/South America for work. Also would love to see the pyramids in Mexico City again, and so go on safari again...

I used to live in Morden, not far from you. Bushey Park is also nice for the deer. Surrey is a great county to live in.
