Google Adsense, Is Your Account On Hold? Pink Box? Are Your Payments In Suspense? Release It And Take Action Now!

Updated on April 5, 2012

Your payments are currently on hold.  Action is required to release payment.  Sounds familiar?  No?  Well if you are new to Google Adsense, the pink box will rear its ugly head sooner or later.  What isn't familiar now, will soon be!  This hub is going to save you a whole heap of trouble, loss of revenue and stress!  I will cover:

  • What to look out for in your Google Adsense
  • How to action the dreaded pink box
  • What to expect when you receive the message

What to Look Out For In Your Google Adsense

So you are new to this. You are as keen as mustard to start earning advertising revenue from those articles you have been writing. You sign up for adsense and the advertisements appear on your blogs or hubs spontaneously. Great you think! The revenue starts trickling, penny-by-penny and, although it isn’t much, you feel proud that people are reading what you have to say.

One day you notice that there haven’t been any pennies building up in your account. So you decide to leave it so it can build – you don’t want to be obsessing about it too much, now do you? You might, therefore leave it for a couple of weeks. When you check, you notice a little pink message saying your account is on hold. You might want to leave it – it might resolve itself. You know that you have done nothing wrong. My advice is DON’T LEAVE IT!

This pink notice STOPS you from getting any further revenue until you complete a set of actions. This can take up to three weeks to complete. This will delay your revenue stream. You will not get any revenue during the hold period. This means NO PAY PER CLICKS on your hubs or blogs until the process has been actioned!

The message in pink states the following:

‘Your payments are currently on hold. Action is required to release payment. More Details’

Now look at the image to remind yourself of what this message looks like...

A Message That Looks Like This Needs Action!

Want to know more about Google Adsense? Well here are a few products that I recommend!

How to Action The Dreaded Pink Box and What To Expect

This message could make you think that you don’t have to do anything. After all, you have a long way to go before you reach the payment threshold. Don’t kid yourself! If you don’t action this, you will be waiting forever for payment. There won’t be any further increase in the payments. All that wonderful click revenue will go directly to Google Adsense coffers! Your article clicks will be worthless to you but like gold to Google Adsense! The longer you leave it, the longer it will take before you can sort it out and the more you are working in aid of that great Google in cyberspace!

Now, you need to click on ‘More Details’. This will take you to a set of verification actions. The whole process takes approximately three weeks. This, undoubtedly, is Google Adsense’s tactics to generate more revenue for themselves, so you will need to accept this lost time and therefore, loss of revenue during the verification process.

  • You will need to confirm your details online – you might even need to enter tax information, methods of payment and update your address details.
  • If you choose to have Adsense transfer your money to your account, you will have to wait for a deposit to be made to the designated account. This is called verification of funds.  It is then that you go to your adsense account and enter the amount that has been deposited in the instruction field.
  • Confirm, via your account, an electronic automated telephone call.
  • Await a pin postal verification note in the mail.

Once You Have Verified and Completed All Actions, Adsense will return... phew!

Once all these actions are completed, then Google Adsense will operate to your revenue benefit and not theirs!

I have included a link as a lesson to learn from a fellow writer who made the mistake in overlooking the deadly pink message. Click here to learn more.

Now don’t make the same mistake…

Hey...marieryan - it is helping people like you that makes this all worth while! It is a relief to know that the explanation is easy to understand - sometimes one doesn't see it with your own eyes. Thank you for your comment, much appreciated!

What great community spirit! This is networking, Baby! After your comment on my latest hub, I went into your profile to meet you properly, saw you were on Twitter, so joined you there, as I'm trying to develop Twitter myself! As I scrolled down your Twitter posts out of curiosity, aand realised how you were posting your hubs on Twitter, I noticed the mysterious words: 'Pink box?'. So I actually accessed this hub via Twitter. I have been wondering for weeks now what the pink box meant! But you are right in commenting that because I was no where near the minimum of 70 euros (11.07 euros at the moment after almost 4 months and 16 hubs) I just assumend I had to wait until I reached 70 before any action would be required.

      your explanation was so clear!

Thanks soooo much for sharing this.

I love you shazwellyn. I tried to enter my test deposit for two months now and the box to enter it was always greyed out (not available) with a comment that said to check back later. I stopped checking back after several weeks. But in the past week I suddenly got that dreaded pink box you mentioned. So now I have to go through all the stuff you explained here. Thank you for this timely hub. Everyone needs to read it.

Nevermind, it is cleared up now. The Pink box on the "My Account" page said this:

"As part of our effort to protect the accounts of AdSense publishers, we have mailed a Personal Identification Number (PIN) to the payment address entered in your account. This PIN must be entered on the PIN Information page before any payments can be issued to you.

In the meantime, your account remains active, and you may continue to show ads and accrue earnings..."

      Phew!

So, the way I understand it is if, you have the pink box, you aren't getting any money for your clicks? I am just waiting for the Google Deposit to confirm payment option and my PIN number as well. Will these factors stop me from earning revenue? If so, are the "lost clicks" credited to my account when I do what the pink box tells me?

      Thanks for your information! :)
