Becoming More Successful on

Updated on July 25, 2012

Don't Give Up!

So, I started a "30 Hubs in 30 Days Challenge" two months ago. I was really trying to get the 30 hubs done within a month, but I only got to number 7 because life got a little too busy. At first I was down on myself, but then I decided that I can just continue the challenge now. There is no reason that I need to give up. To be successful on Hubpages, you need to persevere because success doesn't happen quickly and it doesn't happen if you are not putting in the work. I have yet to experience any type of financial success on Hubpages, but I will admit that I have seen an increase in my views/volume (more on that later).

Consistency is Key!

I've noticed that you really need to write consistently (at least at first) to become successful on Don't expect tons of paypal pay-outs with only a handful of hubs. I've been a member of Hubpages for over a year now. But at the time of writing this hub, I have less than 15 published hubs. I am continuing the hub challenge now to force myself to generate more hubs. And more hubs = more views, which = more ad views, which = more earnings. When I originally started the hub challenge, I quickly wrote 7 hubs. When I wrote those hubs, my view count got significantly higher and I started earning a little bit more money. I haven't reached a $50 pay-out yet, but there has definitely been an improvement in my earnings. Before I started the challenge, I was only seeing about 50 cents per month. Now, I am raking in almost $5 per month. It doesn't seem like much, but I know that the more hubs I write each month, the higher that number will get.

Also, writing consistently is imperative to being accepted into the Apprenticeship Program. When I applied a few months ago, I was denied because I wasn't consistent. I will re-apply in a few months when I am confident that I have been writing consistently.

Certain Topics are More Successful

This is probably different for everyone, but my most successful hubs (that get the most views) are the ones about "travel". I wrote my travel hubs in the first month of being a member on, and they have received views every single month since. I can't say that about some of my other hubs. So, write about a few different topics that you are interested in and watch them for roughly 6 months. See which ones are the most popular, and then write more hubs on that topic. I plan on writing more travel hubs in the near future. Because if they generate more views, then they generate more money. And that's what success on Hubpages is all about!
