Challenge of a Restless Mind

Updated on March 3, 2011

An open Letter

This is a letter out of frustration...

Are you restless? Can't concentrate on one thing at a time? Want to make money on line or through hub pages but either don't have enough ideas or too many? Do you keep your fingures crossed to win the lottery but never by a ticket!? JOIN THE CLUB!

For years I have been flitting between ideas, trying to find that get rich quick scheme: easy money - "this time next year we'll be millionaires Rodders". However, I always seem to lose interest and fail. How many people have read on Hubpages of people making a 'modest' living from the site but can never generate money yourselves?

I have asked what topics are best to write about to generate responses and views but the answer is always the same - whatever interests you; and looking at the hubs out there at does appear that this is the case. From business to fiching, from spiritualism through to politics; any subject can to the focus of interest, viwes and earnings. (That is until I write about it!!).

I, like many people I have spoke to, feel that I do not know enough about any one subject to create multiple hubs - how do you write 10+ hubs about fly fishing? This leads me to write about such a wide variety of subjects that it must become very frustrating for the few followers I have, and impossible for new readers to find a common theme to latch onto and follow. (It also leads to the added annoyance of stumbling upon a well liked hub and being unable to follow up!) How can anyone stick to just a couple of subjects without continuially repeating yourself?

Is a concentrated approach the key to getting followers and making money? Is it more about the number of hubs created - a numbers game? Is it originality and quality?

As i said, this is a letter written out of frustration. I dont expect a perfect answer - although a few suggestions would be welcome - something to prove this has been read!

I will try and keep you updated on my quest for peace.

Thanks for reading

As one of your followers, I don't look for a common theme among your hubs. Rather, I seek humor, intelligence, writing skill and interest. Your hubs provide most of those elements most of the time, which is why I follow you.
