Dear Simone

First and for most I would like to say thank you for all that you have done for this awesome hubpages community. You have not only single handedly inspired a world of writers to write with a flare of originality, style, professionally, with shear class and the likes. You have also showed us the way through this darn tunnel of an online world.

When I first touched surface onto the hubpages writers network, it was most definitely a different arena to write at, and the community was flourishing with great writers from all around the planet, about 220,000+ authors back then, which was close to 2 years ago. I was a lone soldier type, still in search of my destiny, still hoping and wishing to locate humans online that cared, that actually weren't behaving as drones, or robots.

A blast from hubpages past, I wasn't there for it but I didn't have to be to experience this awesome informative video by Simone

Discovering Hubville

Low and behold I found this place known as Hubpages, and the very first thing I had done is look around by way of using the navigable links in my account, and from my hubpages profile, which by the way back then looked a great deal different then the awe inspiring fashionable appeal it has today. I use to look for the top hubbers, those who had shown to have the infamous 100 hubber scores, and I eventually made it my way down the list to those who had 99, 98, 97, so on and so fourth.

This hot pursuit to figure out all that makes this hubpages network tick was paramount for my knowledge I needed to gain and acquire.

The very first person that had caught my eye on this writers networking community was Simone Smith. She was dressed up in the finest looking elegant black hat I had ever seen online or off, and I must say she looked like a movie star wearing that cute thing. She instantly caught my attention, and I new I had scored an instant jackpot by finding her hubpages profile location.

Time sure does move fast

Months began to pile up, and you better bet I studied her hub writing techniques and content delivery approach, because she was my first ever hubpages role model, and someone to look up to, and no matter if she had a nice H symbol next to her 100 hubber score that helped me to locate her here.

This is something that made all the difference for me, and I repeated this process down the hubber score list, finding powerful writer after powerful writer.

I was completely blown apart mentally after finding so many awesome articles they had all written, and this then lead me to check out the hubpages success stories a great deal, I had no clue what I was up against to try and emulate these fine tuned thorough breads. High class writers that know how to tap into the SEO powers high above these online clouds, many of them had accolades showing that were literally mind blowing to stare at. Some with 1 million views, and others with 10 million views stats.

Welcome all newbies please say Fairwell to Simone in your own way you see fit, and veterans I don't need to say a thing

Now, friends if you are new to the hubpages writers network and have never had the pleasure to experience such a thing, rest assured I kid you not, this is the stuff that motivated us all. Many of us may be looked at as stats counters, nit wits, ding bats who care to watch others succeed or the likes, but I was able to follow the top hubbers to learn to master this thing, and today I am on my way to the top of the web thanks to them all. (Mainly on Youtube, I took my presence there and knowledge of how the web works, more about that below - read on!)

They're what I call the super hubbers, which I wrote a pretty extensive somewhat substandard hub about it long ago, and to them it must appear as gibberish, but to me and many others who are trying or tried to figure out their secrets to online digi-fame, these folks know how to do it.

Now, following Simone Smith aka Batman at night, in particular took me to places online like Vimeo, where I was able to locate a great deal of the Hubpages official videos and tutorial guides that helped to not only enhance my knowledge 10 fold about the hubpages system, but I also used many of them to compliment my community hub articles I wrote to help others along the way. (Tutorials is my specialty online and off, community development is what hubpages and even Simone has also helped me to learn.)

Writing is tough especially for me :) Simone helped me to realize my weaknesses and I tried my hardest to improve on myself

None of this I stated in the paragraphs high up above, could ever help me to improve my grammar skills, or accuracy of titling my hubs, nor could it help me to master the art of communicating effectively. Nope I had to work on those things myself, but I must say listening to Simone talk in each video assured me that I was on the right path, and I thank her for her courage, her use of professionalism in everything she has done online and off. (She is a queen at what she does online hands down.)

She has made this course of learning online everything much easier for me, and if anyone else had done what I did by following her all throughout the web, and even onto Youtube, or Facebook, Google Plus etc. Then you would also begin to not only see, but notice much wiser clear cut path and trend she had set for us all to follow, which was and remains noble all in itself, with the UGC Alliance she had worked on (Content management and quality control type stuff for content publishers, which means for us all).

I'm sure she's done so for years on end behind the scenes maybe in various professional career type positions, while being truly dedicated to help writers and content publishers to learn and master their craft.

She was instrumental at communicating to us all, and on so many platforms with good intent to help us all achieve success online and off. This is what exemplifies her presence online, she is the truest role model for a 21 century world class leader and we shall miss her presence here on Hubpages for sure.

If you new to Hubpages this one is for you, this isn't no ordinary website or social community its an adventure & a place that cares

How Simone helped me

Most folks would never know how she helped me personally, and especially if I didn't type all this here, but it was by two things she had done towards me and my online activities here. First she had contacted me via email back in 2012 around August or September, about potentially being placed into the Hubpages Newsletter, thanks to my good friend Bill Holland who had selected me out of over 200,000+ authors back then to be interviewed for it all.

The other indirect way she helped me is, once upon a time there was a cool thing known as Hubpages Elite, well they since transformed such a program into the Welcome wagon team and into a more automated system as opposed to a human organized voting method.(This may not exist anymore as I tried looking for it, and will ask for sure and update this farewell article to reflect the accurate info and details)

Well to make a long story short, I decided to go for it and apply for the Hubpages Elite program, I got rejected due to my poor English and grammar skills :) the funny thing is it done the reverse for me, it helped me to realize my imperfections rather then create or stir up any potential animosity towards Simone. She was only the messenger in the mix of it all, and not the only person or factor involved.

I felt good to know that I needed improvement, and so I was truly determined to better my writing skills from that point onwards. Again I thank Simone for not having any fear of me retaliating towards her, because this online lifestyle takes big balls when communicating from a staff position and of a much higher authority on many various levels for sure.

Did I mention that this lady can write her ass off! she blew me away with many of the articles she's written and I admire her drive to set the example of shear excellence in all ways she could. "Go get em Simone, I know you will succeed anywhere you decide to land your Batman keyboard and mouse like reflexes onto, and even if there's 20+ Catwoman there & any silly Jokers or Penguins." LOL :)

@Laura Schneider, Yes indeed that women exemplified so much in the form of goodness here on hubpages, she set a trend that was tough to duplicate, imitate or follow.

I did my very best to learn from Simone and will miss her for sure, her presence here actually lit the place up like a virtual light bulb.

Thanks for being so honest in your comment up there, and for choosing to share with us all here in Simone's fair well hub I was over joyed to write up. I could not let her go without showing how I felt for what she's done for us all, and especially what she has done for little ole me.

I remember meeting you and many other awesome writers when I first became a hubber almost 2 years back, it was a great time to become one for sure. Meeting Simone for the first time also came with meeting so many others who emulate her awesome personality and amazing flair for being a epic/prolific writer.

I'm so glad that she has helped you and us all, we have all learned some valiant writing lessons and superb content placement concepts and tons more helpful advice we can all take to the bank here online and into our careers as well, and thanks to Simone. Simone, I will miss you greatly! I really appreciate your cool head for detail in untangling some of the problems/user-errors I came across and posted on the user forum. You always unravel the emotional in the posts (for me and everyone) and get right to the heart of the matter. You are a great teacher for me in that respect as I cannot be so objective about some of "problems" I run across (including the user error problems). Your energy seems boundless! That comes through in everything you do: you have a zest for life that most people envy. If your "replacement" is half as talented as you are, then they will still be a person I can look up to and learn from. I confess, I've never read one of your articles, but I look forward to doing so now. I do hope that you will keep your account and drop by, from time to time, to rally the troops and save the day as you do now MANY times a day. You will be greatly missed!

Cloud Explorer, this is an excellent article as well as an excellent tribute and send-off to an outstanding individual who has made HubPages what it is today from the user's perspective. Voted up, Awesome, Pinned, Shared...

      Hi Mike,

This was such an excellent article and tribute to Simone who has been a shinning light in my time on HP too. I had the pleasure of having her as my mentor through the AP program for 6 months and what an inspiration she was. She has shared hubs of mine on social network sites, asked me to blog on HP and given me so much motivation. She was a writer I followed as her own works are examples of all types of writing we can learn from and I did. Her humor and gift to connect I adored and she will be sorely missed here. Thanks Mike for the videos included, I did not know so many were available and what great tools to have.

      Votes, shared!

@ImKarn23, Thank you so much for caring to express your feelings about this very hub I have managed to crank out for Simone going away. Yes indeed I do what I can and you do as well to help us all as a successful focused online community of supportive folks.

Simone has gone the extra mile and then some for us all for sure, and so she deserves so much more, but I figured this shall suffice for now for her, maybe someday I can find a much better way to thank her for all that she has done for me personally.

I wish her the best, and I'm glad you have recognized the countless others here in our tightly knit community with your awesomely insightful comment up there Leslie, we all work hard at it today, and so yup this is a awesome experience all in all. I think you're right though, she definitely has been very active in going out of her way for people and that's why she's getting quite the sendoff. Voting this up as amazingly hub loving (my own vote) and all the rest. I'm sharing it up too.
