Get More Blog And Hub Followers!

How To Get More Followers
How To Get More Followers | Source

Get Traffic To Your Website

The first step to getting more followers is to get more traffic. First, let me talk about the difference between followers and visitors.

Visitors are people who come to your site to find an answer to a question that they have. They do not have to be followers, but they could become followers if they find your information interesting enough to sign up.

Followers are people who have signed up to your blog, hub or website. They receive a notice every time you write something new. They are repeat customers. It is easier to get your information noticed by followers than new visitors. The followers are already interested in the information you are writing.

Write Quality Articles

Write Quality Articles That People Want To Read

Write about something you are passionate about. It could be taking care of children, green products, budgeting or anything you have a deep interest in.

Find out what questions people have within those subjects, or niches, and try to answer their questions in your Hub.

Make your article look nice. Chop your writing up into paragraphs. Add pictures, polls, quizzes, videos and links. Make sure everything you add is relevant to the topic.

Add advertising for related products, but don't over-advertise. Too many advertisements can take the readers attention off of your article.

Add pictures to show the readers what you are talking about. A picture is worth a thousand words!

Use a nice font and make sure it is large enough for readers to view easily.

Use Social Media Sites To Increase Traffic To Your Site

Use social media sites like Twitter, Facebook, Google+ and Pinterest to get your blog noticed. In HubPages, you can connect your account to your Twitter, Facebook and Pinterest and Google+. Once you are finished writing an article, blog or Hub, you click on 'Share' to have it sent to the social media sites.

Build up your community on the social media sites too, to increase viewers and followers. The more people who follow you through social media sites, the more exposure your article will have and more exposure means more possible followers.

Build A Community

Not only should you build your community on HubPages, but also on other Social sites like, Twitter, Facebook and Pinterest. The larger your community is across the board, the more viewers you will have.

On Facebook, 'Like' people or companies that relate to the topic you write about. Sometimes they 'Like' back.

On Twitter, 'Follow' people and companies you find interesting and who you would think would find your articles interesting. They will notice and some follow back.

On Pinterest, 'Follow' others and make sure you put nice pictures on your articles. Without a picture, your article cannot get onto Pinterest.

When you read an article online, write a nice comment back and add a link to your article that is related. Others who are reading the are reading the article are interested in the topic and they will be curious to see what you have to say too!

Use Google Adsense To Earn More Money From Your Site

Use Google Adsense Keyword Tool To Increase Traffic And Followers

Find out what words people are searching for in Google Adsense Keyword Tool. It's free and easy to use. Type a few words in that relate to the topic of your article and push 'Search'. It will give you a list of words or phrases related to the keywords you put in.

You can then click on the 'monthly searches' column to list each word or phrase in order from the greatest number of searches to the lowest. Try to use the words and phrases that are at the top of the list with the most amount of views (and the lowest competition).

Use the words and phrases in your article, in the title and in the description. Don't go overboard with keywords though. It could make the article not read so smoothly.

Make It Easy For Visitors To Sign Up

If you have a blog or website, make sure you have a sign-up box close to the top of the screen. The visitors will notice this more if it is near the top since they don't have to scroll down to see it. If they see the sign up box, they will be more likely to sign up as a follower than if they would have had to search for it.

I know this if off topic but I'm looking into starting my own blog and was curious what all is required to get set up? I'm assuming having a blog like yours would cost a pretty penny? I'm not very web savvy so I'm not 100 positive. Any recommendations or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks ecddkgdaeddd

Great tips! I think I might have to get involved in more social networking sites other than Facebook. Very useful information, and enjoyed reading your hub!

Thanks debrarae79! I recently found out that the more people I follow, the more followers I get back. I try to follow everyone that follows me, as long as they have Hubs under their profile. It's also a great way to find more interesting Hubs!

Thanks caseymel for the valuable information. Great stuff you have on this hub. Some ideals I did not think of.

Thanks Alecia Murphy! I haven't tried using hashtags on Twitter yet, but I have heard that you could get a lot more traffic by doing it. I will have to learn more about that before trying it. You're right! It's a great idea to think like a viewer when you are writing. Every once in a while, I look at my hubs and my blog (The Frugal Review) and I try to think like a viewer. Is it easy to navigate? Do I add value? Is it easy to sign up as a follower? When I tweak my Hubs and Blogs, I find that I get more viewers and sometimes they turn into followers!

Great article! I think my issue is with keywords but I think using hashtags on Twitter has helped me but I could still be better. I guess as a writer you don't always think on the other side as a reader, but you should. Voted up and useful!

I love how you described the keyword tool. This is a definite must for all of us including us newbies. I'm always looking for ways to increase my traffic and strengthen my relationships with the people I'm following or are following me. As long as I take time to put time into it, it'll work out for sure. Thanks for the extra encouragement, I'm voting up and sharing!

Exactly what I needed to help me use the Keyword Tool. This is the first hub I've read (and I've read a gazillion) that easily explained how to use the Keyword Tool. Shout it out! I'm so happy. Terrific information and it gets my vote up, across and sharing. Big thanks to a grateful follower.

I really dislike facebook, and I am not using much these days, but I really like the pointers. I have been on Hubs for a week and I am already earning, and I still have a long way to go in terms of experience.

All very good points for people that maybe more new to getting the word out. It is challenging for all of us, so any help is great for all of us. There are a lot of great online resources now that will help people utilize social media outlets even more. Voted up!
