How To Sign Up For Hubpages

Updated on May 8, 2011
Source

Step 1: HubPages.com

Step 1. Go to Http://Hubpages.comĀ  and click the green sign up now button.

Or, if you'd like to check out hubpages first, feel free to check out some of the awesome content they display on their opening page.

Step 2: Username and Info

Pick a Username that symbolizes your writing style or a topic that you're particularly fond of. I chose "BizGenGirl" which means "Business Generation Girl", because I love to write about business ideas, my business experiences and I love to help others get their businesses going. So I wanted a domain name that would be easy to remember by my readers and would show what I am known for in my writing.

Then Enter the email you have linked to your Paypal account, if you are going to use paypal for payments. This will make things easier for you in the long run. Then choose a password
that you can remember. Take a moment to read the terms of use agreement, to make sure you're on board with hubpages terms and uses. Once you're all done, enter the captcha and click submit.

Step 3: Help HubPages Get to Know You

After you've entered the Captcha and clicked submit, you'll be taken to a page where Hubpages asks to learn a bit more about you. Take some time to enter at least five or six topics that you are interested in, so that hubpages can help you connect with hubs to bring you inspiration and information. Then check the boxes to the categories that match your tastes.

Step 4: Invite Your friends

If you have some friends or associates in your email that you would like to send hubpages invites to, now is the time to do so. Just enter your email provider and other info, and hubpages will make the rest easy. If you don't want to bug those on your email list, you can just skip this step.

Step 5: Welcome to HubPages!

The next page is your personal Welcome Page. It offers you some quick guidance on getting you hubber profile set up, as well as some information about hubpages. I would suggest reading the "how do I make money?" link on this page, as it will take you through the important parts about earning revenue on hubpages, and help you to get set up with the ads programs
that hubpages works with. I would go ahead and set this stuff up now, so that your first hub can start earning you revenue right away. Though if this seems intimidating at the moment, feel free to go and set up your profile and explore hubpages for a while.

Step 6: Explore

Check out other hubbers profiles to get an idea for a good bio, or a first hub to write. There is lots of inspiration in this wonderful community, so it shouldn't be long before your thinker gets going. Once you know how you want to get started, make sure to add a profile picture to your hubber profile. It's best to start out with a photo that actually shows you in it, though anything will do to start out.

After you've spent some time exploring other hubs and hubbers, check out the FAQ, especially the questions about earning money. It will link you to an informative hub about hubbers who are earning great incomes from Hubpages. Many of them are getting over $1500 per month!

Step 7: Follow BizGenGirl!

You certainly don't have to do this, but why not?

Feel free to come and follow me through my hubbing adventures. On top of being able to see my latest and greatest articles, you'll also benefit from being able to ask me any questions you have about hubbing on hubpages!

See ya soon!
