How to Behave Yourself on Hubpages Community
Does attitude matter?
Well done! You're an excellent and great writer, everyone admires your work and you're making your living well through your writings.
But hang on! Is that all you need or something is missing here?
I would say yes there is.And that specific and very important thing is your behaviour.Especially when you are writing on a website which is like a community forum. And you need to behave very well here. You can’t be rude or can’t be racist at all on here. You have to be calm and polite as community forum means people of all ethnics and religions come together to make one.
So you must be able to respect all religions if you want your religion to be respected. You must acquire lots of patience in order to get this job done.
Unless you just write and don't want to comment on other's work and don't want anybody comment on yours. And don’t want to communicate at all which is good for you if you don’t like other religions. But I am so sorry to tell you that this wouldn’t work here.
I think the best option that suits you according to your behaving issue is that you should write on your personal blog where no one can disturb you but probably it wouldn't help you much as how people would know about you then?
So at the end, you need to cling on to hubpages in order to get others familiarised with your skills. But unfortunately on hubpages, you would need a quite good attitude as this platform is full of live people where they share their interesting stories with others, make friends and get huge appreciation for their work.
It also helps new writers to explore and polish their writings which is great support for newcomers. Many I've seen here who started their writing career on hubpages and then they became famous writers with many books published on Amazon. So this website is a great helping tool for new writers to learn and write well as an expert writer.
Coming back to my question, does attitude matter?
Yes it does matter on hubpages if you want to be famous here and want to become an inspiration for many new ones to come.
In order to do that you would need some tips to follow here for newcomers to understand how to behave well on this community forum and do not hurt other people through your attitude if you’ve become popular here.
1- No to Racism
First rule is to follow no racism on here. This very form has many shapes which sometimes we don’t understand that it’s leading us towards racism. And we deliberately commit this crime.I would say a crime, yes , because it hurts others’ emotions and makes them feel that they are not superior humans as some others are which is very painful feeling.
As being from asian community, I do understand this very well. But here on hubpages, mostly people I’ve seen are so friendly and encouraging.
Still I think there are some specific thought of people who just come here for fun and mocking others, and they do and don’t respect other ethnic groups which can be very frustrating for some.
So please I would say to those, this is a writing site and very beautiful community forum, don’t defame it with your rubbish discussions and talks which can hurt others.
If you intend to do that then hubpages is not for you, you can try some chatting sites to soothe your racist appetite.Thanks.

2 - Stop flipping around
I’ve seen this trend on hubpages, flippers follow some authors for few days, leaving insightful comments, making writers feel that they are some very special angels who are so innocent and heavenly personalities.
And then after sometimes, those flippers vanish behind some cloud and even unfollow those writers whom they admired so much and made them feel so special.
I would say to those flippers, this term I’ve used for them as it absolutely suits them who play with writers’ emotions, make good friendships and then unfollow without telling any reason or giving any explanation.
Which is so rude to do as you are not allowed to hurt others like this, if you don’t like someone because of his ethnic community or because of his views or religion then who gives you permission to follow them, make friendship, and then leave like you never know them.
The most rude and rogue attitude, I would say. Please stop flipping around like clowns, you’re not allowed to play this monstrous game.
3 - No bad language
When I first joined hubpages, I saw people using abusive language in discussions over politics and other issues, even I saw people making fun of homelessness issues which made me really think should I continue writing on this site or not.
But then I thought there are loads of good people as well on here who are so inspiring and helping others. So I kept on my journey of writing over hubpages which proved very blissful experience for me.
But I still feel bad for such people who are here just for discussions and to use bad words.I haven’t ever seen them commenting on any hub but wherever is discussion on politics or social issues, you find them there to blame and abuse others through their sharp swords of fingers.
Well my message to those is, please think that this is writing community forum. It’s not a political forum to use bad wordings. For that purpose, you can join newspaper discussions which are great to show your hatred and political desperation. And nobody gets hurt there as opposites also sit there to blame other political parties and groups.
Hubpages is not for this purpose, writing is so precious and noble profession, please leave it to that.Don’t spoil this forum with bad language. If you want to explain your point, write articles, prove yourself and bring some political change.
If you can’t do this, then please head to some twitter account and fulfil your appetite there.
Abusing is poison
4 - Learn to comment
Commenting is a wonderful source to encourage other writers.I still don’t understand why people don’t bother to comment. When you follow others, you get a chance to read the hubs of people you follow, you just leave after reading in silent mode, don’t react to what you read?
Then I would say : “Are you a Robot who doesn’t feel anything?”
I think you’re not. God has made you a human full of life, emotions, feelings and love.I don’t see any reason for not reacting to what you read.
As with myself, if I read something and I enjoy it, I admire it in words, not matter I know the person or not.I just love reading others’ work and admire their beautiful writings.
This topic I’ve discussed earlier in my hub ‘How to help other writers spread their wings and fly’.But still much needs to be done to raise awareness to comment please if you follow someone or even you don’t follow.
Your encouragement can bring smile on someone’s face and can force him to write more to polish his writing skills.
Learn to encourage
5 - Together we are strong
Please get together! Hold up hands! Never be aparted!
Writers are founders of society and can do wonders. This hubpages forum is indeed an extraordinary effort to let others fly higher in the horizon. Please contribute to this great cause, love each other, forget hatred, spread kindness and love, you’d be surprised to find the results.
Live like a community, welcome newcomers and make them feel like home here.As only generosity can reward you, nothing else can.
Give others to gather more, this would give you inner pleasure and help others to explore more on this forum.
