How to keep your blog fresh

When you are a blogger you can get into what I like to the call the blogging funk. It can be limitless at times. A blogging funk is when you write the same thing over and over again but in a different way. , writtenWhen you get to that point, what do you do? Your limitless writing isn't limitless anymore when you are writing the same thing. So do you stop, writing or do you figure out a way to keep your blog fresh and new? Have you ever run into that issue where your blog is just saying the same thing over and over again? I know that in the beginning when I first started blogging I thought that is how my posts were going. How did I fix this?

You can take, new pictures for existing posts, or you can add things like polls to existing posts if you haven’t already. Also updating your blog with new posts and awesome photos is a great way to keep your blog fresh. Even putting a background on your blog posts will not only keep your blog fresh it will brighten it up. Use brainstorming techniques, involve the readers, for example, guest posts, polls, questions, even come written as posts. Explore new voices, for example, instructional posts, list posts, informational, reviews, profiles and much more. http://www.problogger.net/archives/2005/11/29/20-types-of-blog-posts-battling-bloggers-block/

Other ways to keep your blog fresh is if you have been writing for a while and things are becoming unclear, or you just don’t know what to write, stop writing. When you give your mind a break, and yourself a break new ideas and ways to keep your blog fresh will come to mind and when you use the new ideas you will be surprised at what you find. Even using different styles of lettering, will keep your blog fresh. It will keep your writers guessing if you change things up, whether it be in your topic, color or style of writing.

My version of, keeping my blog fresh is adding things to it to make people want to come back and read it. I even like to add color to my blogs to make them pop, but I am a color person. So if that is why I like to add colour with my blogs. I find that if something is colorful on my blog it will draw people to that post and then they will look at it and isn’t that what all bloggers want? In my opinion, I think that is what all bloggers want, other people might have different ideas but each blogger is different and they all have their own versions of keeping their blogs fresh if you are a blogger what do you do to keep your blog fresh?

I am still learning about the different things I can do to keep my blog fresh and keep people coming back. I used to be really good, at adding backgrounds to my posts when I was using the first site I started with, but now there are so many other things I can do, I just need to do it in stages. That is what I am finding out which is great because I love learning new things that I can add to my blog, to keep it fresh. If you are a blogger how do you keep your blog fresh?

Wonderful ideas on keeping a blog alive, and also making it for all audiences. Appealing to your audiences needs by implementing their thoughts and suggestions in your future hub or work, is very worth while. Not only are you helping yourself, you're showing your audience that you are listening to them and considering what they see that maybe you missed or overlooked. Wonderful post very well structured and provides excellent tips!

Sometimes it helps to take that idea that you were going to discard and write about it anyway. Ideas that make you say: No one would ever do that. No one would ever believe that. Then do some research, find folks who do these unbelievable things and write about them. An example might be: No one would ever deliberately make themselves look exactly like a Barbie doll. But we know of course that a couple of people have and they are every bit as weird as you might think.

I don't have a blog but your ideas undoubtedly work just as well to sites such as this or personal websites.

Very interesting topic. I agree with you that we need to refresh our blogs often to keep or attract readers. Even though, I do not get much views, I keep on posting or editing my articles. I also try to customise my blogs every 6 months for fresh look.

Louise Barraco, thanks for posting this. I wasn't on Hubpages when you posted it, but after seeing that you're following my travel hubs, I checked to see what you write. I'm impressed with the variety of topics you've covered. I think this topic of keeping blogs fresh is relevant for most hubbers, as they consider what to post next. And I admit that I'm not really clear as to the difference between a blog and a Hub. And which would attract the most readers? I'd enjoy knowing your thoughts about those points as well as those of your readers. Ideas?

In my opinion I don't really see a difference hubpahed is a platform to write on about certain topics and a blog is one specific topic a platform you run not something like hubpages where you don't have as much control. The answer to what would attract more readers I think depends on the topic you choose to talk about I am working on another blog all about fitness as well. Not sure how it's working out yet we will see.
