Hubpages Sign Up - Earn Money By Writing Content

Updated on January 4, 2013

Getting Started

Hubpages is an active user-generated content community where writers and authors of all kinds can express themselves on just about any topic. Why would you want to sign up with the site? One of the best reasons is that the platform allows you to share information about topics that interest you while earning a share of the revenue generated by the content you produce. You can earn money through Adsense, eBay, Amazon, and the Hubpages ad program while promoting your own blog or website at the same.

While Hubpages is an excellent tool for SEO if used properly, you don't have to have a blog or website to take part. Best of all, you can create content without knowing HTML or having any website editing tools. If you can type, you can create a hub! Before you can get started, you need to have an account. You can sign up for one by using this link: Create a New Account

Now that you have an active account, you can create your first hub. Before you start, it is important to keep a few things in mind. We all want to see the community remain as an elite site that continues to rank well in search engines which means that you must adhere to a few rules when creating your hubs. Do not post spammy hubs that don't offer anything useful for the reader. It's OK to promote your blog or website but make sure you do it in a tasteful way and have also provided some information of value.

Remember that content is king and providing a well thought out article that ties in to your personal area of expertise will not only give you more traffic over the long run, it will also result in better QUALITY traffic that is more likely to have a legitimate interest in your hub. Next, take the time to look at other good hubs. See what others have written about and how they have put their hubs together. Try to incorporate what others have done successfully into your hubs and your own success will surely follow!

Generating Revenue

Now that you understand how to publish your content, it is time to monetize your work! Don't forget to add your affiliate IDs for Amazon and eBay before you start publishing so you can maximize your earnings potential. If you haven't signed up yet, you can do so here. Register with eBay. After that, join the eBay Partner Program to get your affiliate ID: Join the eBay Partner Network. By making sure that you have both a regular eBay account and an eBay Partner Network account, you can take advantage of the eBay Editor Kit which allows you to highly customize your product displays for use in your pages or website.

You can sign up to get an Amazon affiliate ID here: Amazon Affiliate Program. Then, simply copy and paste your affiliate IDs into the corresponding sections of your profile. You can reach this section by clicking the link labeled "affiliates" in your control panel.

Now, you're ready to start creating your first hub! Once you've created a few hubs and are comfortable with the process, try out the unique referral program to generate more revenue for your account. Here's a quick tutorial if you want to start working with the referral program: Getting Started With Referrals.
