Hug of the Day ...to Moms-Secret on HubPages
Meet Lissette aka Moms-Secret
What a beautiful name for a beautiful person, young widow, mother, published author, serious poet and creative writer, who will take you to those dark places and those light places and everywhere else in between while reading her work, which truly showcases her great talent. I believe I understand what Lissette's “secret” is, and maybe in reading her work, you will discover moms-secret too. I am surprised she has not been discovered by thousands of readers yet! Please join in the giving of this well-deserved "Hug" to moms-secret as she is known here on HubPages.
Lissette’s poetry is wondrous and daring at times; that is daring to reveal a bit of herself in each piece she writes. She wishes people to get to know her through her writing, and one will truly do so after reading each piece. The more one reads, the more one knows Lissette.
Moms-Secret's Hubs on Faith at Different Stages of Grief
Sadly, it appears that not too long after Lissette started writing on HubPages, she became a widow and began writing of the tragic loss of her husband, who she refers to as her Prince. Through her writing, she takes the reader through the many different stages of grief, and she holds nothing back. Her raw emotions come painfully through her written words. One can literally feel what she and her young daughter are experiencing through this sudden tragedy. She did not have her Prince but for a short time and she fights with the reality of having to give him up, but she does not want to do so, of course, and move on, as her friends and family tell her, even with her being so young.
The following dramatic song in the video certainly gets across the feeling of knowing God is present, but not feeling Him when one most needs Him. This can especially occur when one's faith has been shaken to the core and tested. However, even after having gone through so much, one still realizes you are never alone and He is there always.
I thought this video appropriate after reading Lissette's poetry on faith.
Lissette writes of an especially hard day, for it is her daughter’s ninth birthday, and the first birthday without Lissette’s husband there to celebrate with her little angel.
Here in this particularly honest write, Lissette explains that her writing lends itself to more than one situation but hides her truths well. This piece is about an internal debate about whether or not she desires to have children in the future. As one may surmise, there is no rejected lover in this case. Her words reveal and express the inner turmoil as she ponders such for her future life, being a mother already and having experienced such great loss at such a young age. This piece is profound and genuine.
- What it feels like to lose your soul mate
Trying to put this pain into words...
Of course, here in this dramatic write, Lissette writes of exactly who her soul mate was and how she could see spending multiple lifetimes with him, if given the opportunity. The only light in her life that compels her to keep going is her eight year old daughter, who she refers to as the angel who is left in her care and, in doing so, is saving Lissette’s life as each day passes.
I Am a Diamond
This is one of the best poems I have read. Lissette's literary gifts of writing and poetry shine brilliantly just like a diamond. Even if you are one to not read poetry, you will enjoy this poem immensely. This piece evokes beauty visually and intrigue with each word. You will not be disappointed in reading this poem which showcases Lissette's talent as an extraordinary poet.
All Alone At Christmas
First Christmas After Loss
- The Young Widow - The Christmas Tree
A series about grief. A journey into the mind of a young widow as time passes and grief changes. #9 - The Christmas Tree
Here, Lissette, describes herself at being at a Christmas crossroads, as it was the first Christmas without her Prince, and so soon after his death.
- The Tidal Wave - A Poem
Poetry fueled by raw emotions with pictures that help you see the story.
This poem definitely takes one on a tidal wave of raw emotion from anger, sadness and beauty that is haunting. It is a powerhouse of a poem. It may even give you chills. This poem makes a great point that each person grieves and heals differently and at their own pace, where one is not at the point where others think one should be in the process of grieving a great loss.
The Light of the World Still Draws Us to Himself ...
Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life."— John 8:12
- The Star Of Bethlehem - The Documentary
Did the Star of Bethlehem really exist? Here is your introduction to a brilliant documentary by Fredrick A. Larson that tackles that very question.
A Unique Contribution From Lissette for this Time of Year
Please enjoy reading this hub where Lissette has included a documentary on the whether or not the Star of Bethlehem really existed. This is an intriguing documentary and brilliant as well.
