It's Not Who You Are or What You Like to Write, but that You Keep on Hubbing
These 5 Hubbers are Recent and the Newest Favorites of Mine
It's Not Who You Are...
When I first can to write on Hub Pages, it was an interesting experience. As a writer I had long experienced many things in the last few years, but coming to understand the power of online writing is the most profound of them. It was nothing new for me as an artist to have my work appreciated, but on Hub Pages I learned the power of having fans, friends, and even the occasional enemy. All these entering into my world via the online world as members or readers of Hub Pages.
Each person listed by profile pic to the right of these words is one of these people. All have had an impact on my writing, but more important, they have had an impact on my life. It was a profound realization that people who were online could have such energy, that readers could engage in such supportive communication, that administrators could have such real concern for the writers on their webpages, and that I was now part of a community. Hub Pages became a place for my thoughts, my ambitions, but also a safe haven for my inner most personal world. That is something very profound for this Arizona writer indeed.
The people I have become close with here have been honest, unique, and some have become very close friends. Through my writing I had met many people, but very few that became important to me. Even fewer that would actually to go bat for me in tough situations or that I could say were true to their word. Hub Pages has shown itself to be a community that is unusually out of the box for the online world, an internet enigma and an experiment in humanity amid the imaginable seas of light.
That is something that should be held up in wonder, it is like discovering magic for the very first time. For myself, Hub Pages renewed my spirit as an artist and overtime came to be a port in the storm for my creative spark.
Thanks to the fans and people who were part of that for me. But it is not only that...

The 5 Hubbers above are my newest friends that have shown their support, or that I just think rock. The 5 Hubbers below are my friends and have been for sometime before this hub was ever written.
These 5 Hubbers are ones that I can personally call Friends now
Or What You Like to Write...
If the writers, artists, administrators, and technical geniuses behind the webpages and HTML code could be looked at under the microscope, their hearts would shine through all the tools and technology. It is amazing to me that everyone on the Hub Pages website comes together in some of the amazing ways I have seen. Very often it leads to arguments, bickering, or childishness, but amid the flotsam and jetsam of such nonsense, you can see that many people here truly have need of what Hub Pages gives them.
For myself personally, it is more than just an outlet for my writing. I have other avenues that can and do fulfill that, but none that I was willing to keep writing on even without earning money. Which I did for almost two years, until recently, when by some magical means the problems were solved. If the Hub Pages staff secretly had anything to do with those changes, I humbly thank you for any support you may have offered. But either way, I was willing to stick it out, and did it mostly because of the wonderful friends and fans I had made on Hub Pages.
Those people who were probably less savvy than I with HTML, marketing, writing, or any number of things, they were still coming to comment and read my work. It was something that warmed my heart, healed my artistic pride, and taught me an old lesson over again, it is not about your art as an artist, but it is about the fans who make your art come alive. If nobody comes to read your work, well then you are just an artist. Being lucky enough to have earned the respect and kindness of really loyal readers like Hub Pages nurtures, that was a gift I was not willing to throw away casually. The people I had engaged in friendship, readership, even the ones who felt it was their mission to mock or criticize my work, all were important. Everyone of those souls were now special to me and I would go down protecting them if need be. My enemies and friends on Hub Pages were equally comrades in my heart, so this is why I write here to this day.
Although now that I am making a little money, it is even sweeter. It is not about the money, it is not about having your name on the search engines, but that you...
"...Keep on Hubbing..."
Those of you who know me, will also be aware of my personal motto and catch phrase on Hub Pages. I use it when ever I comment back to anyone and it has become something that has stuck with me. Because it expresses how I feel about writing, art and is what I want on my headstone someday. Or at least somewhere under my name. This little hub goes out to all of the friends I have made here and all of my loyal fans that are not mentioned, but are in my heart on Hub Pages. - Blake4d
