Progress Report from March

It's the first week of April. It's about time I do my Hubpages progress report and set new goals for the month before the days pass me by.

Below is the summary of the results of my online efforts in the last month of March.

April Goals (Target vs Actual)

(click column header to sort results)
Twitter followers
6833 and counting
Pinterest followers
965 and counting
Cooking Like a Pro Facebook Fanpage
3579 and counting
Hubs written for the month

I have to admit, it's not much.

I was super psyched when I reached my Twitter goal, though. I even made an Update Hub for that feat. While my Pinterest goals have not been met, it was really close to my target; so, I'm happy with that, too. It seems that I need to gather more followers for my Facebook Fanpage. It's harder to increase Facebook Fanpage followers these days. Facebook guys are really getting strict against spammy Fanpages. I suppose it's for the best that I wasn't able to reach my 5000 followers just yet.

There's this month anyway, right? There is no other way for me but to go up and aim higher.

I did set 3 Hubpages goals last March. One of them is enlisted above. I'm happy to have written those 12 hubs. The results of the other 2 goals, I will not be disclosing for now. Let me reach them first; and reach them fast, so I can share with other hubbers that 500 views per day and the $50 earnings in a month is doable by a regular hubber such as myself.

In the past month, I've found very generous hubbers like susana s, melis ann and many others who are very generous in sharing their own successful experiences and knowledge on how to make money with hubpages. Hopefully, I can return the favor to other hubbers, someday.

This April, I'm setting a new set of online goals. I'm expecting to reach 10k twitter fans by the end of the month. I'm sure that'll help improve the viewership of my blogs and my hubs. For Pinterest, I am hoping to increase my followers to 2k. This site has given me wonderful surprises over the past months. You don't know how valuable your photos are unless you share them on Pinterest. For my fanpage, I'll take it slow. 6k fans are just about right.

And as for my Hubpages online goals, I'll keep it simple. That's 10 worthwhile hubs so I can focus on increasing my page views and earnings. I sure hope my online efforts reward me with big money by the end of the month.

Learnings the Past Month

On Hubpages:

This goal setting project made me adjust my lens regarding how I see Hubpages. Because of my 10 hubs challenge, I was able to stay with the site longer. I am able to interact more to my fellow hubbers. Also, I begin to notice the rise on the views and earnings each day from this site; probably, because I comment more and visit more hubs. Hubpages is a social site too, after all.

I am revising most of my hubs to improve viewership. Most of them are not as engaging as I'd hope they would be. I'll be tweaking a lot of old hubs this month in the hope of improving their scores and improving their search-ability online.

I'm also adjusting my way of writing. It wasn't "in my face" before that Hubpages is not a blogging site. It is all about writing marketable hubs.

On Everything Else:

I have never been more sure that everything is possible when you set your mind to it. Setting goal just make it easier to follow through and keep the focus.

Can You Really Make Money with Hubpages

Let me discuss this topic quickly.

I suppose making real money is very possible in Hubpages. Coming from the testimonials of several hubbers, making money in Hubpages is doable; if you know what you are doing. (I mean real money; not just some cents turning into several dollars.) While, I am yet to discover how to do this; I am eager to learn. With a little guidance from my goal setting and inspiration coming from fellow hubbers, I would like to one day write a hub about my online success with Hubpages.

I admit that I came short on my Hubpages goals. My views and earnings did not meet my targets. However, the big UP to this whole project is that I was able to double my numbers from the previous month. I see a promise.

Do you think I'd stop now? Setting goals in Hubpages made me realize its true earning potentials. Now, I am more keen to work with the site and achieve my personal goals. Not only for me; but for other hubbers who are still figuring Hubpages out.

Why Real Money is Possible With Hubpages:

- Hubpages is a respected writing site, with a PR of 6/10. (Surprisingly, my account - has a PR of 2/10. Yay me!!!) Writing articles in Hubpages has a bigger chance of getting YOUR word out there than writing at a newly set-up blog. Even if your blog has long been established, getting traffic for an article may still be easier with Hubpages.

- Hubpages has Amazon and eBay partnerships. While we write (about topics that we care for, nonetheless); we may also earn from sales made in Amazon or eBay. Much so, if you are a seller yourself, you can market your Amazon or eBay items in your hubs.

- Hubpages has partnership with Adsense. Your potential earning is actually bigger if you have an Adsense account. If you don't have one, you have to apply for it to make your earnings grow bigger.

- Hubpages has its own Ad program.

- Hubpages even has an affiliate program. You can also earn from the writers you sign up under you. You can even track your referrals using specified or personalized hubpage link.

- Hubpages has a vibrant community. Working within the hubbing community is already worthwhile. Not only do I earn from the views; I often get valuable insights and information from them.

I'm looking forward to do my Progress Report by the end of April. I'm hoping to share with you the little treasures I would find online, particularly from Hubpages.

Let's see what happens. Weeee!!

I'm still learning as I go. I want this to be enjoyable during the long haul. I still have a number of years before I retire, so hopefully, I'll be doing better by then. Congrats on your respectable earnings and keep on going.

Wow, I'm impressed at how goal-oriented you're . Good for you. I've given up on garnering followers. Not very good at it. Best of luck.

Very useful hub! Thank you for sharing the information! I set goals with Facebook, since I have a community page. It is more challenging to get numbers, but it is worth it since you know your words get out! I have yet to try Twitter, but I'm open to it!

Your results are impressive. I have a twitter account but have never actively gone after acquiring thousands of followers. I do not have a Pinterest account because from what I have learned, one loses the copyrights to the photos and most of what I use are personal photos. I rarely go into you can tell I am not active socially except here on HP. Am I making money? Thankfully...yes.

Like you are doing, I am often going back and updating older hubs when someone discovers them and makes a comment. This is a learning process and I am happy to have met people like you on this site. Up, interesting and sharing.

Hi luckywriter, it was at 3k++ in Feb. I set the goal at 5k for March. It's not from 0 to 5k. :)

Very interesting. How do you increase your twitter followers by 5000 in one month? I'm a bit stunned at those numbers, seeing as how it took me over a year to get 300 followers! Ha!
