Me...Robwrite's self-serving hub
Me in Florida last winter
A totally ego-centric hub
I'm writing a totally egotistical, narcissistic hub because I'm celebrating my first 10,000-plus view hub. (Pause for applause.) My hub, "When the Native American Indians first met the Europeans Settlers" has reached 10,3000 views and climbing. (The link is below.) So let me say thank you to the Native Americans before I move on to another interesting thing about...ME.
A few weeks ago I was on television, on Countdown With Keith Olberman. I was part of the October march when the Occupy Wall Street street movement marched from City Hall to the site of the former St. Vincent's hospital (A long-serving hospital in Manhattan which was closed down a few years ago due to budget cuts in the city. Lots of people lost their jobs.) The march was not only to protest job loss but also the lack of national health care. But I digress.
That evening, I was watching Countdown, because Olberman generally covers the Occupy Movement's activities in a more sympathetic way than--let's say--Fox News. I looked at the screen and who's face do I see walking passed the camera, in a nice close up--ME! All together, I was on screen three times (although once was a far shot and not very noticeable) and I ran upstairs to tell my new lady friend (who lives in the apartment just above me), so she could watch the 11:00 rerun. She doesn't have a TV, so I asked her to come down and watch me on my television. (She actually fell asleep before 11:00 and I didn't have the heart to yank her out of bed and drag downstairs just to see me holding a sign, so she missed it.)
Best of all, I've been hired as the head writer for an upcoming direct-to-internet series. I can't say much about the show because I signed a DND (Do not Disclose) agreement, so mums the word. But I can tell you that we'll be shooting the pilot Webisode next month and if we can get enough sponsors interested, we'll be filming 12 further webisodes starting in the Spring of 2012. If all goes well, our web series will debut on the Net next summer. (Fingers crossed.)
I was hired to be one of the writing staff, but the producer (who is an experienced cinemtographer for TV and is producing his first series) liked my ideas and was impressed by my writing, so he bumped me up to head writer. I coordinate the scripts of other five writers, so I have a little power! (I'll keep you updated about the progress of the series.)
So that's my self-serving hub. My ego is satisfied...for now!
Take care, all.
