My Seventh Year Anniversary On HubPages: My Journey

Updated on March 8, 2017

Red and yellow, black and white, all are precious in his sight.

I was notified that I'd reached my seventh year anniversary, writing on HubPages last week. It gave me pause to reminisce and remember the good times and special friends I've met along the way. It really has been like a journey.

I remember well the first hub I wrote and my first comment. It was from Martie who lives in South Africa. We became fast friends, emailing each other, talking about our heart hurt's. Soon we moved on to more pleasant topics, like travel.

Martie had a one legged pilot who was on standby to take us anywhere our heart's desired.

We went to Hollywood to see the stars. We found a Goodwill store where the stars had donated clothing for charity. Boy, did we have fun trying on satin and sequin gowns and wrapping up in fur pieces. We learned what the old cliché meant, ' Shopping till you dropped. ' What a fun day that was!

Next she took me, Epi, Micky and Fossillady to Africa to see the beautiful white bears. We had a blast, and I'm sure the area will never be the same, what a night!

Fossillady took us all to Woodstock. Talk about fun, we all got as high as the sky, and we met Bill Clinton in the crowd...Wooah!!

My friend Nell who lives in England took us to the Royal Wedding. I hate to admit it, but we almost spoiled the happy event. Nell placed us in full view of the Queen, and I'm sure she alerted Scotland Yard to keep close watch on some peculiar acting tourists.

And of course I will never forget the happy times we all had at Mike's Emerald Wells Café. We all met there daily, good food, good friends. A jukebox that played our favorite Elvis songs. We'd dance and sip a little wine while Mike was writing his poetry.

That's where we all met Dusty. He'd come in and order a humongous breakfast and tell us all about his farm adventure's. Dusty passed away, but his memory lives on. His picture hangs on the wall and is a treasured part of the Café we all loved so much.

So many adventures, so many friends, reading and writing, and meeting new friends along the way. To list them all would be a gigantic chore. Some write poetry, some write short stories. Some write recipes, and some write about a topic, and we learn something new. Billybuc answers our many writing question's. All in all, It's a wonderful group of people who loves to write and share their life journey's.

I will say that my life has been enriched just knowing there are good and loyal people all over the world, and I've traveled to places I only dreamed about.

Writing has become a treasured part of my life. I wouldn't have missed this journey for all the tea in China! Humm I haven't been to China. Any takers? lol

In closing, I an definitely not the same person I was seven years ago

I've learned to love again, forgiveness lives inside my ego

I wake up each day hoping my muse is awake and anxious to write words that will inspire others

To all my cyber friends, I fondly call my sister's and brother's.

I like to look for the perfect flower in my garden. One day I thought there were not any. I wept. And then I took a second look filled with love and I found every flower perfect. And of course you were the most special.

7 years and I have gotten to watch so much love from you my special darling.

You give more than you take. If we were all like you our world would in fact be a better place.

      (whatever, I love Michael Jackson)

Funny how I knew you loved Michael Jackson. I thought he was a misused angel while on earth. I'm sure he's singing a new song in heaven. Thank you for supporting my writing....

Look's like you're really 'crazy' about Elvis and Michael, Ruby. Anyway, seven years!! So many of us have hit the seven recently, or have birthdays!

You have written a clever and brilliant piece! Not new, I know, but somehow I love those visits and reminiscences. It's a bit like me pulling the moon down to play with me. (chuckle).

Happy Anniversary, my Sweet. Wishing you God's blessings for good health and ever-increasing wisdom.

Auw, dear Ruby, thanks for reminding me of one of the best times I have had in Hubville - way back in 2010-2012. We had soooo much fun. Like teenagers in High School. I remember, I called you my twin. In the meantime we have all grown 'old'!?!

Some moved on, but most of them only to another nearby 'village'. I miss those who emigrated to another planet - (who knows where's Epi?) - and those who were taken away by the Carriage Driver - Dusty, drbj, Mary and Mary...

Thanks again for reminding me of the 'good old days', dear Ruby!

Hello Mike. How could I write about my seven years on HP without remembering EWC? I know we've all moved on but that time will always be special. I'm hungry, so I'll be over to have a piece of pie and a cup of coffee. The whole gang will probably show up and we'll dance the night away. Thank you for the many times you've helped me navigate this computer and for being my friend.

This was so well written, and some of the comments responding, left me not even able to tell if you actually went on these adventures, or if they were travels of the mind happening only in cyberspace!

In seven years I will be almost 80---and if at that age I am still in a mood to celebrate anything, it will be first of all for my still being alive, for my ability to read, and only then I may be just overjoyed that HP with its readers haven't got tired of my writing and kicked my butt out.

Hello Shy. Reliving old adventures in writing is a fun thing to do

It was all so brand new

We hadn't yet learned to fear

      That readers really wouldn't care

If our writing was good or bad

I think at first it was mostly sad

Now I'm happy to write mostly glad

A little satire here and there

A short story, flash fiction, poetry with a little flair

But best of all, meeting friends like you

Whose loyal and great poets too.

      Thank you my friend...Hugs..
