Important Milestones on Hubpages.com ..
I made it..my first week and my first 10 hubs!
This has now marked for me my first complete week as a hubber creating hubs on hubpages.com. Over a week ago I didn't know too much about this site so it is amazing the difference a week can make.
I got my first recognition of having written 10 hubs and it was a nice feeling to think that I may not have created all my hubs had I not found hubpages.
This "writing" environment is one where the hubs you read are engaging and informative, yet humorous and witty. There are serious hubs which make you reflect and those which make you nod your head in agreement. I've read all types and I hope my first run of ten hubs have provided this diverse range of emotions for you too.
There are many ways to create articles on the internet but to date this has to be the best in terms of the performance profile you have available to read as regularly as you want or need to. The flags for increasing or decreasing traffic is particularly useful to give the hub writer a sense of what was readworthy last week is perhaps needing some work or a new engaging hub created.
I went from a 20 score a week ago to a high of 85 this week which I was really happy with, plus with 161 page views (which yes sounds quite low) I was smiling, as at least people are reading what I am creating!!
The statistics and earnings reports are great as not only can they show how little you are making in your first 7 days they also provide you with themes which appear to attract readers and those which clearly attract a niche of reader. Both are equally important as both will satisfy not only the readers needs but also create diverse avenues for monetising your hubs. Some hubs will easily bring in ebay and amazon earnings whereas others clearly are best set against google adsense. I'm trying and testing all options and as I said above I have learned a lot about hubbing and been able to put it to immediate use, which is unusual.
The learning center has been superb as you will find pretty much an answer for everything there from headlines to monetizing your hubs. I'm sure I will be a regular visitor there for many many months (or years) to come.
My goal is to keep hubbing and reading what other great hubs appear on hubpages.com and given the ease of creating your "own work" it should not prove a challenge to reach the personal targets I have set myself for the coming month.
When setting myself performance goals I prefer the small steps approach as having an outlook to far out usually leads to a drop in motivation as opposed to reaching interim goals and giving yourself a virtual pat on the back.
The acknowledgement of reaching a hubpages.com interim goal is a real motivator as we all start somewhere and each small step can be a step closer to the personal or financial goals we have set.
So why have I written this hub? Well I really want to say thank you to those who have taken the time to read my hubs, make comments as well as choosing to follow me. Again these are great motivators and a fantastic support to keep going and, I too, enjoy reading your work, making comments and following your hub creations.
However if you have fallen upon this hub and are wondering who on earth this is warbling about goals, motivation and hubpages.com you can read by hubs, if you have time, from links below.
