Need More Traffic? Try These 10 Ideas

Updated on May 30, 2015

10 Ways To Get More Traffic

  1. Have a great headline. Lets face it we have all clicked on a link with an awesome headline that only told part of the story. We do it and we do it continuously even if we know better. That's how people are getting traffic to their post. More times than not their headline stands out better than yours. So take the time to actually sit and think on what you are going to use for a headline.

  2. Add social share buttons to everything. Social networking is huge. Millions(In case you missed it MILLIONS!) of people use social networking. If they share your post to their network you are bound to get more traffic. If you don't well you just missed out on the potential of your writing going viral.

  3. Don't just write an article about a subject. Some people prefer audio or video be sure to cover all ways people prefer to learn.

  4. Go through old content you have written and give it a fresh update. After all information is always changing. Who knows Jupiter may become a planet again....or not.

  5. If you are using a lot of numbers or ratios you might be talking alien to someone who is trying to understand your post. Be sure to include graphs and charts that help the person better understand what it is you are saying.

  6. Create quick navigation if you will be writing a fairly long post covering many topics. They might only want to know about one topic so creating a shortcut for them will help them better navigate your page.

  7. Write about current news stories. People are always searching for more information on something that just happened. Make it good enough and you will have it liked and shared more times than you can count. Note:This is a fast way to get traffic. Writing about current news the traffic will more than likely slow overtime.

  8. Ask other bloggers to include you in their blogroll. Be sure to include them in yours also. Remember common courtesy.

  9. Optimize your posts to be mobile friendly. A big majority of people use their phones for looking up information.

  10. Last but not least never give up and write frequently. Keep those fingers typing the more you write or blog the better you will be!
