New Marketing Strategies: Online Promotion - 60 Day Challenge Log

Updated on February 23, 2014

Online Promotion: So What Are These New Strategies?

“To get through the hardest journey we need take only one step at a time, but we must keep on stepping” - Chinese proverb .

The road to personal development is a difficult one, especially when you don't know the outcome.  This path for me is a journey of self development.  Through learning new marketing strategies, via experiential learning, I hope this exercise is going to help me provide a foundation for my SEO knowledge base.  I am a novice, rather than an newbie, so online promotion has been rather hit and miss for me.  The writing has been easy but lthe SEO, for which I didn't even know the meaning six months ago, has been particularly difficult to master.  It is only then that I started on my newbie journey of SEO enlightenment.  The 60 Day Challenge that has been made available to me, I hope, will forge a more knowledgeable and confident person as regards to online promotion.

I Want To See The Light At The End Of The Tunnel - I Accept The 60 Day Challenge

New Marketing Strategies, My Goals and My Motivation

My personal goal is 'to see some light at the end of the SEO tunnel, for online promotion to feel a natural part of my persona and to developed new marketing strategies'.

These new marketing strategies may be old hat to others, but in learning the old, I hope that in my simplistic way of perceiving the world, that I may stumble on something new. This is what I hope to offer the team of diverse 60 day challengers - perhaps a new way of problem solving. Sometimes experience can cloud and prevent seeing the wood for the trees. In this I hope to add positivly to Sunforge and the hub challengers.

My motivation: Well this one is easy... 'To not let the 60 Day Hub Challenger's down by failing and to be my best.'

My intentions are to form solid network relationships in order to broaden my knowledge of SEO for the long haul and to share what I have learned with the hubpages community. With the assistance of Sunforge and the team of fellow challengers, I hope to become a more valuable member of our community.

I want to be my best. To do this, I will look to others. We will be rewarded with great online promotion - united we stand, divided we fall.
I want to be my best. To do this, I will look to others. We will be rewarded with great online promotion - united we stand, divided we fall.

New Marketing Strategies: To Promote The Hubs of the 60 Day Challengers

My personal challenge, on the pathway to new marketing strategies, is to be guided by the light of Sunforged. If you want to know more then feel free to take a look at Online Goal Setting Tools - Your 60 day Challenge Log for an outline by the mentor himself.

Also, let me introduce you to the team - Goals Planning Success-The 60 day Challenge Team on HubPages. I will be looking to the whole team and watching their progress through this exercise to help maximise my learning. I shall also be regularly participating in the forum thread to keep myself updated. It is Sunforged who created the 60dc Hubsacademy forum.

To maximise their online promotion I shall do the following:

  • Create a link on my profile to this hub. Profile views are strong with me, so if I place this in a key position, it should help the team as a whole as they view the RSS feed and Sunforge's hubs.
  • I will comment on all the team's hubs. This should create further links to help maximise online promotion, thereby creating a greater Internet presence.
  • I will share their hubs with the 'share it' feature on their hubs. I will be careful not to spam.
  • I will attempt to complete whatever is asked of me, as long as it is moral and within the bounds of white hat.
  • I want to get past my 93 barrier on my authorscore!

My Mentor!
My Mentor!

Edweirdo - My Guru and Mentor!

Now, let me introduce you to someone special. This is Edweirdo. He answered this maiden's plight and is kindly mentoring me through this learning process. My success is his success and in great hubber love style, I want to share him with you! So here is me sharing the loooove with you by recommending my hero. Check out his profile page - Edweirdo Profile .

Thank you Edweirdo, for your on-going support!

Planning for New Marketing Strategies and Online Promotion

The 60 Day Challenge requires 30 hubs in 30 days, after 30 days, we will spend the next 30 days developing links and new marketing strategies for online promotion.

My 30 hubs in 30 days will consist of a mix of the following topics:

  • Herbal Remedies
  • Indie music promotion
  • Mental Health - predominately psychology
  • Health - Cancer
  • Social Welfare
  • You Tube

Reflective Practice - Online Promotion Progress Report

This is in working progress. An assessment and log will be written on a week by week basis. This should help with the learning practice.

Week 1:

5th April. The start of the challenge. Hubs 1 to 3 allocated with relevant coding, insert of RSS feed and tagging. New design banner for reader's eyes to rest during read - original idea courtesy of Wavegirl (see blue banner - neat!) - thanks. Hubs 1 and 3 allocated to HubMob - will maximise promotion with Hubpages AND linking via RSS to 60dc - greater exposure for the team. Promoting with my normal procedure - this hub and hub 3. Stats have now been set up for weekly anaylsis.

6th April. Been checking back on forum lead and understanding RSS feeds better. Hub writing and catching up on linking with team. Highlighted this hub on front profile page.

7th April. Completed introductions to all the team via their 60dc. Now will monitor their hubs and continue to comment, rate up and share the love. Have completed two more hubs - psychology, leaving to brew and inflate hubscore. Have been more extensive on Redgage, caught up with hubber friends and learning more about how the site operates. Click here for a great backlinker with a rather exciting website. It is PR4 and has lots of Google love spluttered all over it!

8th April. Edweirdo helped me make a discovery today. I can add my own RSS feed into my hubs! This is really useful and can keep my hubs updated with new information. The spider bots will love this!! This is my RSS feed - just in case anyone else wants to add it: Great news... Extra activity on REDGAGE, have been notified that I AM A WINNER! I won on the contest - $25! Have also been informed that I been FEATURED on the front page! More traffic. It is really worth being active on this PR4 platform! Redgage is really worth joining - you cant lose. Click the above links and I get some raffle tickets - worth something to me, worth everything to you! Spending much of my time creating quality content on my psychology 101 hubs.

9th April. Hub 6: 'What is Intelligence' has been completed and left to brew in account. Now have 3 in reserve, one of which is ready for release. Hub 4 Released - What makes people happy. Usual backlinking procedure. Completed Nora the cat hub and is left to brew.

10th April. Sunforged has mentioned fireshot for firefox. Now I have been looking for something like this for ages. It takes web snap shots. Brilliant. Thanks Sunforged. I have also been leaving community love links in comments section to the 60dc challengers today. Catching up on ground here. I tend to check through hubpages email, open the article links and leave as open to remind me to read and look when I have some spare time. I do this when I feel I need a break from other activities. I catch up on a bulk read - leave comment and rate up, then close. More redgage - accepting friends and initiating friendships. I made it on the 60dc rss hub feed today. Have just finished another hub left for brewing - indie music promotion (1) Revere.

Reflective Practice: Week 2

12th April. Hub 5 nicely brewed at 70 ready to be released into the ether - to promote to 30 day challenge thread, then via my usual backlinking route. Another hub completed on indie music promotion: Get Well Soon. Leaving to brew. Being distracted by lots of people today, visiting etc. Yesterday, went car booting (you know about that in my hub! lol) and got some money for old rope, so couldnt get much achieved with hubbing. Caught up on team building and catching up on 60dc thread. RSS Feed idea: Just place this in the browser and all the designated 60dc's come up. Change the last bit to: /latest to /hot or /best and this changes the order of hubs. Brilliant! Edweirdo made this clear for me. Thanks Ed!

15th April. Have been spreading the love with fellow 60dc hubbers, unfortunately, Hubpages have flagged these comments as SPAM! Looks like the system is too stupid to know what is spam and what is loooove! Well, they say, too much love can kill you! No more love spreading, Im afraid :( It doesnt really have much SEO value anyway (SF), so best to concentrate on staying on task for hub generating. The love will be spread on other sites in phase 2. Released Hub psychology: Client centered approach. Will be proceding with usual promo sequence tomorrow. Author score dropped to 91 - will I ever go beyond the 93 barrier? Im starting to doubt it :(

18th April. Last few days been concentrating on creating hubs. Have completed a further 3 hubs left for finishing off - social welfare programs. Have published Nora the piano cat. Backlinked to promo. Will publish another later today (indie music promotion). Need to start on Series of 3 cancer hubs: Cancer UK, the power of nano, need to think about the third.

98 Authorscore - photograph to prove it can be done!

Week 3

19th April. Caught up on 60dc thread. Doing my promo of released hub: Indie music promotion 1 - Revere. Signed up to 3 backlinker sites - tba. Working on new hub: cancer health.

22nd April. Has been a while since my last entry. Have been writing like a firebird! Lots of unpublished hubs brewing. Little successes? I have reached 1 objective of getting over the 93 authorscore today! So, it is possible!!! I went up to 98 - dont know why as yet. I also got email from the band revere - they tweeted my hub to their fan base (also invited me to appear in their video shooting this weekend! Kewl!!). Released two other hubs - Get Well Soon and These New Puritans. Cracking on with aspie girls x 3 hubs now to brew.

24th April Had a comment from a USA music website (music xray) about my Revere hub. So the keywords and tags must be directed at the correct sources. They liked my hub and they liked Revere. Music xray specialise in underground indie bands. I think I am on to something here. Gone to a new level in authorscore 99 and appeared on page 3. Will I hit the 100? Maybe a bit too ambitious! Still no sight of featured hubber of any kind - it would be nice but mustn't get my hopes up. Would we know anyway? Have left two more hubs to brew - mortgage reduction and will be completing one more to make a set of three today. Then onto some health hubs. I am trying to put a load on bulk and refine the completed hubs when I know that the 30 have been done. I have until May 28th according to my calculations for completion of phase 1.

Week 4

26th April. I only have one more hub to create in my 30/30. Then I can start publishing. Noticed another leap this week in Stats.

27th April. Published 4 hubs today, writing the final hub presently.

28th April. Published 3 more hubs today, after tidying up etc. Doing my backlinking to usual places. Completed final hub for brewing, yesterday.

2nd May.  Completed 30/30 - After 3 previous attempts, I have now completed the 30 hubs in 30 days.  This is a real achievement for me.  I am now onto phase 2.

Perfect 100 - 4/5/10

4th May. I woke up to a breakthrough today. I am perfect 100!!! I can't actually believe it, so took a photo shot of it - hey, it might not happen again! lol. This has far surpassed my expectations. I am now on to phase two. I am presently submitting rss feeds to various sites for the team. Lets see what happens - hehehe :) I have been lucky enough to have a little additional attention from Mark Knowles and I want to thank him for his help. If you aren't a follower of him, I suggest that you enlist him. He is, indeed, a wise and knowledgable SEO guru. Click Get Me To Mark Knowles Now!

7th May. Have been catching up on the hubacadamy forum. I have added newly feedburner created feeds to recommended sites. Have learned about rss feeds (they are just re-packaged url's in a different name! Now demystified the idea). Read Edweirdo's hub: This is an awesome hub by an awesome hubber whom I have the privilege to know. The hub has been featured on hubpages and is essential reading for anyone interested in SEO. I hope that I have helped with this community service announcement and shared the love to all.

Now we are entering into phase 2, those who are committed to this, need to keep focused to the cause. We are a very powerful team and we can achieve great things as a collective. For success, we need to look to our leader and abide by his decisions, no matter what. United we stand, divided we fall. Sunforged is our leader and the key to our success. If you have been following me, then you should be following him too. Click I Am A Believer Of Sunforged now!

24th May Right, this will be my last post for this hub. I want to leave you on a cliff hanger as I continue my learning incognito. Intrigued? Well, you will have to wait for my next hub won't you!:)

Autism Spectrum Disorder:: Asperger’s Syndrome:: Undiagnosed Women

Asperger's syndrome is a predominately male condition. Or is it? We have been lead to believe that this autism spectrum disorder has been dominated by boys and men. This simply is not true! More and more undiagnosed women are being identified with this condition and it has been said that it is just as prevailant in females as males. The only difference being is that females are harder to diagnose - they can fake it.

We are finding that many undiagnosed Asperger women of the age of 40 has lived a lifetime with this condition. They have not had any intervention and have, somehow, had to cope with daily living with a disabling condition. This is one of the lost generation's story.

Hub 22

Asperger's syndrome for them has been a knowing of not being quite right, of bad head days and complicated relationships. Women and girls are underpresented. Not because they are not suseptible to the condition, but because they manage to compensate more effectively. This is because females are genetically more able in the realms of communication which makes them harder to diagnose.

This article will discover why, with the help of Ruby Simone, in a series of three hubs.

Hub 23

Autism Spectrum Disorder:: Asperger’s Syndrome:: Women, Girls & Dr Attwood

Asperger's and Girls is a well researched book by Dr Attwood that help identify these lost asperger women. Many, after reading his book, have realised that they are one of this sub-culture and have come to terms with themselves. This really is a recommended read. It is in the following article you will learn more.

This is great and sounds really good, perhaps I need to join the challenge. All the links and things totally confuse me. Great hub and I love reading your writing. Good luck!

Edweirdo... I am hoping to produce hubs after the project and am making notes for the future. I want to centralise this article for others in the future. It is very exciting!!!:)

Shaz, I haven't been to your log in a few days, and now you've made me blush :D

I love your diary approach - I almost wish I hadn't chosen such research and layout intensive hub topics for the 60dc. Then I would have the time for a more informative and interactive log like yours! As it is I've swamped myself with work, but I'm so sure it's going to be fruitful that it's worth the time sacrifice...

Boomer60, new hubbers have so much to offer. The fundamental thing is the ability to be able to see outside of the box because they are not bogged down with the baggage that comes with 'experience'. We are all part of the team and I am delighted to be with you on this:)

shazwellyn, you truly are an inspiration to me in the way that you present your goals and how you have your log laid out. You definitely have a new follower in me. I can learn a lot from you. I will be following you close through this challenge and learning for sure.

shaz, I just love your strategy and wish you the very best of luck on your journey in the 60 day hub challenge. This hub alone offers a wealth of information. So much that I have bookmarked it and will return when I can concentrate more on taking some of this in.

      Awesome job, rated up!

Thanks Pamela - it is sunforged I am grateful to - giving us the opportunity to learn things. It is a committment and I have cleared it with the family so as I can immerse myself in the challenge. It would be neat if you did join :)

Shaz, I think it is great you have a written plan as you are likely to be successful. I wrote probably 45 in a row and didn't even join a challenge. I am organizing my hubs (which I should have done a long time ago using Microsoft Excel) to see where most of my readers come from, then maybe I'll join the challenge. Best of luck to you.

enlightened - Thank you, but it only turned out this way because I checked all log examples and went via your instructions (and Singh's) verbatim. It is you that should have the pat on the back. I have a good feeling about your exam and with a deep breath, you will pass:)

With the look of the bump and everyone thinking sunforged is a woman, it is pointing to a subconscious message from the deep..... *wink*... I agree, it has to be a girl!

Hey Shaz the hublog looks excellent and you have done everything correctly. Infact this hublog is far better than mine. I will now have to amend my hublog a bit. It is 6am in the morning and I am glad that your's was the first hub I read . I really like your writing style and will closely follow you during the challenge. This 60 day challenge will be a learning experience of life time.

Thanks for wishing me for my examination(It will start in about 2 hours). I will sure break a leg and nice idea to put up a poll to find out the sex of the baby in the picture because I myself have no idea. But If it even closely resembles me then I think it's a girl!!
