New personal Goal on Hubpages

Updated on May 17, 2016

Here Goes nothing

I would like to share with folks a new goal I will be setting for myself on hubpages, and that is.

I want to attempt at making communications with every single hub author on hubpages, and especially those who've been experiencing the lowest levels of feedback.

I feel that we all deserve to get our messages across, so this new goal I'm trying to achieve will be dedicated to helping everyone I meet.

Hubpages efforts, worthwile challenging goal to achieve

As a new author on hubpages, for my first 5 months I experienced a great amount of communications thus far & I'm appreciative of all the kind people who've made this all possible.

With that being said I would like to thank all of those who I have come in contact with one way or another, whether it be in a comment section, in a forum, in the Q&A area, or someone who've followed me, or I have been following as well.

Today we all share a common goal on here, and that's attracting an audience, sharing wisdom, and communicating as a global community worldwide in efforts to make just a drop of difference for a single person somewhere else besides where we reside at.

True sharing comes with the spirit of community, and I no-longer want to just randomly drift around finding people. I'm going to take this writers network much more seriously, by putting those new comers I meet as my top priority here, and it will become my ultimate purpose here, I will still communicate efforts with others I've related too in the past as well.

Making Effective Communications on Hubpages

There's load of methods to make effective communications on hubpages, I love how we share, the gradual learning process, and all the awesome inspiring feedback that people leave one another here.

Hubpages deserves a huge web award, for achieving such a remarkable unifying power on the Internet today, for all us writers. I thank all the founders & staff of hubpages, for generating such an awesome writers platform, and also for keeping this magnificent proven system in tact.

There's a profile widget (for website & blog owners), Q&A, forums, insightful commenting after reading hubs, fan followings, fan mail, share buttons, referral links, periodic contests, sending personal messaging to hub owners mail inbox, hubpages news letters, hubpages help center, and even hubpages meet-up groups (hubcamp) on the ground. So there's really no excuse why people aren't using these methods to make things happen on here today for each other. If you're already doing so in all these ways, and maybe even more, like by joining the Hubpages Elite (Now known as The Welcome Wagon Team) team whom put the human presence of monitoring & leading by example on HP.

I must say when you add it all up, it become obvious that our communicative efforts today are truly awesome indeed, you know, who would have thought that the web would have become so powerful of an instrument for communications. It's simply fabulous what we can do as a single united team.

Bonus Video!

Being mindful of ones actions

So by being mindful of how we communicate efforts on hubpages is important, using good discretion is surely going to carry us all very far. I will be using full discretion all throughout this personal challenge and it won't be easy, but I will try my hardest to achieve it.

I may never achieve such a thing, but at least I can say that I gave it my all, and that's the least I can do as a dedicated hubber who's looking to achieve such a uniquely genuine goal. My efforts are aimed to form better relations, and communications amongst all the members I can interact with.

This May be an unreacheable Goal but worth the try

This new challenge will begin effectively tomorrow, on Feb 7th 2012, since I'm all burnt out today, but it will be sincere, and I will generate a hub dedicated to the concurrent results of this personal goal I'm creating for myself on hubpages .

I wanna be the first ever to say, I've honestly communicated with every single person of the hubpages community, and not just by leaving a silly brief comment like "Thanks for sharing".

Sharing is key here on hubpages, but it doesn't mean a thing if a person simply writes that. To me, all it means is that they didn't give my hub much thought at all, and maybe didn't even read it at all.

Current personal Challenge Daily Stats: 3-11-2012

As of today I've shared a total of 717 of those I'm following on a cool new sharing network known as Pearltrees, and for all those wondering what this challenge is you can visit via the link provided, it shows all the sharing stats and the actions I've partaken in recently.

Sharing is powerful today, and this is my form of making Hubpages known to the Globe of viewers, each of my efforts are simultaneously being shared across Twitter, Facebook, Linkedin, and Viadeo professional networks as well (I also use the IFTTT network for formulated sharing of content & web connections). Social communications is amazing, and I will reach the 200,000+ mark in due time, until then stay tuned.

Hubpages pearls of wisdom: Everything about Hubpages in a single place

Thanks Hubpages for making us all shine today

Hubpages allows for us all as authors, to be read across the digital pages of this Internet Super Highway, provides a supplemental passive income & we pay zero dollars to them. We all need to give them much more credit as well for being so kind to make all this technical magic possible, and the least we can do is communicate effectively with each other.

Looking to Join a great writers network, give Hubpages a try it is a positively awesome experience & I highly recommend the use of this awesome network to all those looking to reach the rest of the globe, with their writing talents, expertise and effective communications skills.

Thanks AudreyHowitt, I give it my all and thanks to my mother when I was young for being so hard on me. I am able to communicate in differing ways I guess.

Its nice to see that so many people can help each other with hub love and support, and I simply love this community on hubpages for this.

You're going to love pearltrees for sure, just give it some time so you can get adjusted to it all, if you need any help don't hesitate to contact me either here of there. My user name there is the same as on hubpages, enjoy!

Hey there @PDXKaraokeGuy, nice to see you stop by bro, yup Pearltrees is going to make it happen for this year, in major ways, its by far the most amazing user interface, I've ever used or seen before on the web.

It's quite the experience there indeed, and for sharing Pearltrees is by far the best in my honest opinion.

Social curation is Fantastic, can't wait for them to create some sharing buttons as well, just as the many other social sharing networks out here are doing.

I have always felt that one should shoot for the stars...but you, my friend, are shooting for Pluto! I applaud you for it and hope at the very least you land on Saturn. I have found Hubpages to be an amazing place. I find a lot of people sharing their thoughts in constructive and insightful ways, such as you did on JS Matthew's hub. Since it was a great comment, I came to read your work. This and a few others caught my eye. I have been sharing on FB and Google and will contine to do so. Peace be with you on this quest. Thank you for sharing quality content that makes one think.

Thank you Cloverleaf for sharing with me, and for the words of encouragement, it is tough to get the word around about us authors, and so I'm doing my part in a huge way to do so, hope it helps us all, and hubpages deserves such a push as well. Great comment you left me there, see you soon.

This is a noble challenge indeed. But why not? 200,000 is just a number. Wouldn't it be great to be the first to achieve such a great goal. Guinness book of records may come calling.

Your hubs are always interesting and informative and your honesty and integrity get my vote up every time.

I may even come along for the ride 200,000? Hmm! that's only 100,000 each? definitely doable I would say.

Hi Jacqui2001, welcome and its nice to meet ya for the first time. You have pointed out a cool hint I placed here for folks to remember, and that tells me your very observant.

Thanks for giving my hub here a chance, and I'm glad you've been inspired to do more here, Hubpages is worth the time spent.

I just think they deserve much more recognition from us authors than they appear to be receiving, and from the world as a whole, because of what they do for us all. Cheers!!! to Hubpages

@ Born2care2001, now that was a very insightful and creative comment. Climbing to the mountain top is one of those actual challenges I have yet to even think of trying, but as you've so eloquently put is actually do-able since a single soul have conquered its steep and enduring terrains.

Your words have been inspiring to me as well, and actually everyone's comments and support here is giving me the momentum of encouragement I'll be needing to keep my eyes on this new found goal. I am stunned to see this surge and positively charged group of responses to my hub, for that I will not let anyone down, and I will stay the full course.

Martin Luther King was a true spirit of faith, hope, and provider of true inspirational wisdom in the format of righteous dreams of world peace & unity. His vision paved the way for even what we have today, such as unity occurring all around the globe, and with his determination has made unification amongst friends, and age old enemies of all walks of life.

I commend you for being honest with me, for encouraging me on my efforts, and I wish you nothing but success as well, in your endeavors here, and in life overall as well. Thank you for sharing, and reading my hub too.

Wow so many awesome comments here, its tough to keep up, but I'll do my best.

@ KrystalD thank you for taking the time out to read my hub in all its entirety and to have pointed out the heart of it actually, yes indeed Hubpages is the reason we all can share so amazingly today, and if it comes into my power I will make it possible that they could receive such recognition, lol.

Yes I'm a dreamer but you know, what else do we have today, but our dreams of doing great things, attempts at helping to change the world, and all that super positive stuff our powers in faith and inspiration can muster. I love it here, and this hub is proof, that when we put our mind to something, with 100% energy, and enthusiasm there's just no stopping us.

Thanks for being such a cool person as well, because we been communicating on here for the entire 5 months I've been here I believe, and you never fail to make efforts, I give it my all to do the same as well, even though there's not enough time to respond to each & everyone.

I think HP is a fantastic opportunity to write and publish articles and earn some extra money without having to pay a penny. Great hub promoting HP in such a positive and inspirational way.

      Hi My friend,

I too, really admire your zest. Your energy is amazing. Big Goals are great in my book, whether they seem attainable to others or not. How else would we stretch our capabilities? We must shoot for the sun. Besides, in reality we don't need to see the top of the staircase in order to take the next step. (paraphrasing Martin Luther King Jr.)You're just taking the first step. Bravo!

I won't have to wait to hear about your success, I've already seen it!

      I like your style!!!

Keep it up and as Zig Ziglar says, "I'll meet you at the Top!"

I admire your strength and focus! I do hope you can achieve this. The only obstacle I see in your way is the fact that hundreds of people sign up every day. Other than that, your success is determined by your own will and motivation! Take it one article and Hubber at a time and who knows where you will end up!

    • CloudExplorer profile imageAUTHOR

@ J.S. Matthew, thanks for reading my hub here, I'm a heavenly optimist, and also have had my eyes on the prize, but ever since I've joined hubpages I began to realize that all I have to do is share my knowledge with everyone, and maybe just maybe someday things could change for myself, as well as many others I've come in contact with.

Its not an easy task to communicate as we all do daily on hubpages, it is a sort of disconnect from true reality, but it is something that needs to be done unfortunately today. Since so many of the avenues are currently being re-directed towards web success, and social networking.

With that truth being oh so inevitable.

I've come to the conclusion that the only way for me to make a difference in this world is to lead by example, and be the first to do things that others have dared not to try yet, or even conceive of due to lack of certain knowledge factors or elements, and this is what I think makes life so unique.

There's always an opportunity, no matter which way you turn, and this is one opportune moment I figured why not I take, since I have all the tools in place.

Sharing on a phenomenal level, will be unbearable for me, but just like the astronauts have successfully ventured into the unknown depths of outer space so can I achieve this goal, of astronomical proportions. @00,000+ shared hubpages authors across these webs is my goal, and I will get there one way or another.

Awesome comment by the way, it was one of the best I've had the pleasure of receiving.

@ Kris Heeter, thank you for your insightful comment & for sharing with me, yes indeed 'Website Examiner' hit some key points indeed. I'm well aware that not everyone will want to communicate with one another on hubpages, well those people I find who care not to do so, oh well, that's life.

I've always seen in life if someone doesn't choose to do something simply let them be and carry on, and that's what I do on here.

I will comment, follow a person, but I never Nag anyone, that's a no no in my books, if they don't respond the first time then oh well its just their loss, I guess.

The reason why I say its a loss, is because I have good intent to help people, my stats can confirm it, my hubs can as well, and if people choose not to communicate, its their prerogative to do so, but what I can offer as a person just like any one of us here, goes unnoticed by them, thus taking a huge loss at experiencing yet anther potential learned or acquired knowledge or set of knowledge's being offered freely.

    • CloudExplorer profile imageAUTHOR

      Mike Pugh

7 years ago from New York City

Well @ Website Examiner, your experience here is well respected indeed, I think communications is the main agenda I'm focusing my efforts upon, and pretty much how I communicate. I was going to add the negative and positives of communicating any effort here in my hub, but I left that part up to the readers imagination, and for those viewers who've chose to think on those terms freely, just as you done.

When writing I think about what I should leave out so that conversation can be possible, and this is one issue of communication I'm learning to correct in myself. If you leave no breathing room for those in the community to learn something from, or to debate about, than it only become a form of dictation, and no one enjoys that much at all.

So I'm trying to refrain from playing judge and jury while writing in general, and instead I'm just going at this new bright challenge head first with an open mind, and in hopes to achieve better communications overall, after all what do I have to lose anyway.

I know by now how to handle those users that aren't the most kindest, or respectable, and especially those who appear to have ill intentions, but I appreciate your being honest and truthful as to your own personal thoughts on my voyage I've laid out here for myself. Thanks for sharing with me & for your in-depth response, it was definitely worth while & well accepted by me.

As someone still relatively new, I know that I truly appreciated when other hubbers reached out, read my hubs, gave encouragement and feedback. And I've always been of the opinion that it's good to give back to the community or to others the gifts that have been received.

Obviously not all may be of this opinion and there may be many that wish not to communicate. All one can do is try and I agree with W.E. - some will be worthwhile helping!

      Thanks for sharing your goals!

Dear CloudExplorer: I see similarities between us, where you are now and where I was almost two years ago. I went through a rough patch where more established members tried to discourage me from helping others in the forum. My advice to you is to be very careful about making sure that what you say is factually correct, to take your time to really come to understand the site. With over 200,000 published Hubbers, you will soon find that some are worthwhile helping and others are not. Good luck! W.E.
