Site With Free Pictures
Looking for pictures or graphics for blogs, articles, or hubs?
How many writers spend more time looking for pictures then you spend writing articles? When my first few hubs were published all my pictures had to be found on the internet or in Microsoft office 2007.
In some cases it took longer to find an appropriate picture than it did to write and edit the hub. I remember spending hours searching for just the right picture for a hub. Too many times I was coming up empty handed or unsatisfied with my choices.
My gift to hubbers
A free website was used and it is not and will not be optimized. This site was built as my gift to the hubbers here on hubpages. It’s set up differently than any other picture site we have found on the internet.
There are comments beside many pictures. For as long as possible it will remain that way. This was my third site build, but the first with this site builder. It is now mobile view-able also.
It took longer than anticipated because there were a few glitches. On two of the pages every word had to be typed in, it refused to copy and paste for what seemed like forever. It wouldn't accept the copyright command either. I came close to just removing those two pages but stayed with it because without the animal pictures it wouldn't have been worth doing.
Graphics
Graphics can be found on the donated photos tab on the website. The graphics are creative commons and can be used without giving credit to the creator. This includes the graphics created by Lisech eMarketing staff.
Amateur photography is something which has been a pastime of mine for years. Most of my pictures taken in years past were paper prints and they were all left behind when my last marriage ended years ago. It’s taken this long to get my hands on another camera.
The website is live
We do what we can to keep the website live. It has been edited many times since it was put online. There are now two administrators with Loi-Renne Letts doing most of the work. Loi-Renne is in college now so most of the work has been returned to me.
Some of the pictures have been used for Facebook covers and header pictures on websites. With recent changes some of the photographs are now full sized. If you want a full size picture of something small they are available. We have remained stable enough that the URL's are being used for website and blog pictures.
If you need a photo edited send your order through the contact us. There are now several ways we can edit them. Full size pictures other than those on the site are no longer available. This is normally done without charge unless it is a real pain to do.
Taking special requests
If you have a request for any special picture let me know and we will see what can be done about getting one for you. There is no charge for using what is on the site. All requests we can fill will be placed on the site.
We are also asking for contributions of pictures for the site. We want only pictures taken by people personally. It doesn't matter if your an amateur.
Just take pictures and put your email address in the comments box on the website so we can get in contact. You will be credited for your work, at least on the website. Personal comments about the pictures are welcome and will be placed beside the photograph.
No personal information will be used for any reason other than getting more pictures for the website. See Privacy policy on website.
Animal and landscape pictures
The pictures so far are of the animals who live here and the oasis which surrounds my home. There are shots of trees, textures, and one shot of just the sky. More will be added later.
It’s also my intention to take a picture of the oak tree which has been living here since 1910. Eleven years ago a picture was taken in front of the trunk which had five people in the shot and you could see tree on both sides of the people. The picture has to be taken soon because we have already paid to have the tree removed.
In the past ten years its become hollow inside to a point that a strong storm will bring it down. This is the professional opinion of two tree services. It has already dropped two branches that were over a foot around and about ten feet long. Right now it's not safe for the children to be in that part of the yard when the wind is blowing. That was reason enough to have it removed.
There are new pictures of the kittens. The seven year old brought one in and four other children followed, they were all carrying furry little balls of animal. The kittens are just weaned and were supposed to have new homes, hopefully they will soon.
These pictures ended up on my hub instead of the site, it is my hope you enjoy them. You actually see them better in today's pictures because of the angle and closeness of the shots. .It's always better if you get the angle right.
Busy morning
Please forgive the sloppy shot. There were five children, four kittens, and a dog in the room when these were taken. Above and beyond this sleep is something that has alluded me for way too many hours. The kittens all had minds of their own when these shots were taken.
Boisterous children did not help the situation. This for some reason is one of the worst of the bunch. There were two which were so bad they had to be deleted.
12 June 2011 New photo's added
This is probably the last chance we will have for a while to add pictures to the site. As of yet there have been no volunteers to take part of the load. There are now a few higher quality amateur shots. We are still waiting for requests. The current plan is for one of the staff to take over the photography, One who can walk. It's just a matter of finding time to get them posted to the site.
New pictures added to the site June 18, 2011
Every year my town has what is called Homestead days. This celebration lasts a week with new things happening every day. It would have been nice to be able to get out every day to see what was going on. The new pictures were taken at the parade which is always the day before Homestead days ends. This year there were two states represented. Nebraska and Kansas. They do a good job of showing off the best of what our "home" has to offer.
There were three fire trucks in the parade
Unexplained success
This site was intended for hub pages users. We have had over 50 visitors to the website some days. The site was linked to several other websites by one of the professional photographers who donated photographs. The website lost it's rank when too many links went bad..It has since regained it. More than one professional photographer has added pictures to the site. They are now linked to their business and or hubpages.
