The Pinterest Pinboard Network

Updated on May 23, 2014
Source

How does Pinterest work?

Well from the looks of it there, it appears to be a cool network in the form of a pin board appearance, with many postings all across its screen, and with many of its users postings of likes, and comments.

Similar to many social networks with live streaming walls, Pinterest appeals to us online writers in a huge way, since our truest purpose here is to share our use of words, and visual content appeal to other on the web.

At Pinterest they cover many subjects of interest of all kinds: such as everything, DYI, Home Decor, Weddings & Events, and so much more.

Awesomely new 'Pin it' Button on Hubpages

I'm sure everyone has seen this cool looking new 'Pin it' button on the top of every hub. I was wondering the same thing about it, what this new button could be, and so I did some investigations/research.

The sites name behind this new sharing button feature on hubpages is known as Pinterest, and from the looks of it all, it looks like it will be worth joining too. I just requested for an invite, after discovering it for the first time myself, and because it appears as if they have good intentions. Its network is designed to help people share, whatever web based content on the web that matters most to them, and its also meant to share what likes you have on the web as a whole.

Pinning hubs is simple

If you like a hub article just click on the Pin button, top right of the screen, but you need to have a Pinterest account to do so

Thanks! Hubpages for the Cool Button

This was a huge move by the hubpages founders, and web guru's to help us all out by adding such an awesome sharing web location as Pinterest, and I'm hoping that my invitation gets accepted there soon, because I have loads of good hubs to share with more folks worldwide.

The good thing about up and coming, rising networks like this one is, they will be fair in how they allow their users to share, since they are just getting things going pretty much, and it appears as if they have a huge following on the web thus far. This is just my opinion at the moment, I will look for more juicy info on this new Hubpages update, and will be providing all the details as to the history of such a cool new network as Pinterest.

This hub was in response to a Hubpages Q&A question, asked by Rajan Jolly, and it was definitely one that was on my mind as well, as soon as hubpages was done updating their network today, and the little white and red Pin button appeared.

Looking to join the new Pinterest Best of Hubpages group lead by fellow hubber Simone Cook. I located it in a forum posting recently, so the link above leads to the new group there.

Your welcome @Kittyjj, I'm glad that this hub has helped point out to you what pinterest is, and that cool little sharing button we now have at our disposal.

It won't take long to get your account approved, I got mine on the same day actually. Good Luck and have fun Pinning, as well as hubbing.

Thank you for creating this hub. After I finished reading your hub I went to Pinterest and asked for an invitation. Then I got an email from Pinterest saying I am on the waiting list. Hopefully I don't need to wait for too long.

You can post anything helpful to people from the hubpages community, tutorials, hubpages info etc, and its also for those looking to understand what hubpages is all about from outside of hubpages.

I created it to help people in every way I can, as well as anyone who chooses to join can offer to the hubpages community as well, on Pinterest. Thanks for joining my board I got started there as well, Enjoy! @ PWalker281

Yes indeed Pinterest is an awesome web location for sharing, its cool that hubpages helps us to share our works in so many unique ways, with other networks from within hubpages itself.

Simply hit that pin button, and it works wonders there after. The funny thing is I just started yesterday, and one of my high school buddies found me on it somehow.

Just hoping people on it like what i bring to the stage there, I guess its all in the visual content, and wording people choose for each pinning there as well.

Thanks @ Flashmakeit for coming to share with me here, and for commenting as well. See ya soon on your hubs as well, sharing is quite an amazing phenomenon on the web today.

Hey Jolly, No problem man, I loved the question so I had to create this hub answer on it, even if I didn't know at the time what that cool new button was. I'm on the network now pinning many of my hubs, and so it works wonders in terms of user friendly transferring of your hubs to what they call 'boards' for pinning, and its easy as 1,2,3.

I'll provide a detailed hub all about how to perform on the Pinterest network tomorrow morning, because my hands are full with all the pinning at the moment. They should approve your account soon, I requested for mine early in this morning, and got approved just about 30 mins ago. It took me about 2 minutes to figure it all out, and the rest is history. The web is fantastic!!

Thanks @ Rajan for for asking a great question, and for sharing with me today.

@ Pwalker281 I wish I could write about Crochet, but oh well, I guess there's a knack for many differing hobbies of interest, right. I guess everyone collectively, makes the entire web truly what it is, an awesome sharing communicator for everyone to find great things of interest.

Yeah you might be able to succeed much better in places where more folks are finding it interesting for that specific niche your into, so Pinterest may definitely make all the difference, if you got that writing board going there. Good Luck! Pwalker.

Let me know if it works good for you or not, I'm thinking of creating a web techy section as soon as I get the hang of it.

I think because I am into crochet and I know a lot of crochet and crafty peeps on the Internet who pin like crazy, I found out about it sooner. I'm going to be creating some kind of "writing" board soon. Just haven't figured out what to name it and what specifically to focus on (well, my stuff, yes, but I want to include other folks work as well).

Hi @ TheFinanceHub, yes indeed I will be visiting your hubs in due time, things have been tough trying to catch up with so many comments lately, but i love the support none the less.

Thanks for sharing with me here though, I think Pinterest will serve us online writers in a great way, hopefully god willing, and the lord knows we need it.

Hey @ Pwalker, Wow that's awesome you're already using Pinterest, I had no clue it even existed till hubpages posted that new button update, and I'm a super techy dude. Go figure!

The web is so vast its impossible to know every corner of it all, even Google doesn't know every web location that's been posted, and with that said I guess its why anything, and everything can have such a potential of going undetected even from a web analyst like my self.

Nice comment you left me their, I'm wondering how it works as well, but I know I'll figure all out in like a few microseconds, and shortly after they allow me to gain access to it all, hahaha.

I love the web for this factor of sharing with people worldwide, it makes it all worth while, and definitely worth the hard earned efforts we as writers, web developers, and bloggers put into it.

I just hope Pinterest can survive with all the rest of these huge web companies that are battling it out for viewers worldwide. Thanks for sharing with me once again, I owe you one.

I've been on Pinterest for a couple of months now. Honestly, when I first joined, I was thoroughly confused by all the images and how they were displayed, and didn't do much with it for a couple of weeks. Then my daughter (the computer expert in the family) sat me down and helped me figure things out.

I started by going through other people's boards and repinning stuff I liked. Now I'm a little better at remembering to pin stuff when I come across it while browsing.

It wasn't until recently that I realized the potential Pinterest has for gaining traffic to our hubs, blogs, etc. It is very image-oriented, so it's important to include great images in your hubs.

When you get your invite approved, come find me, Mike. I'm listed as Patrice Walker.

Great video, btw. Wish I had seen it when I first joined. And thanks for the link to the HubPages group on Pinterest. Voted up and useful.

P.S. Greekgeek has written a hub on the potential for copyright infringement on Pinterest if people take images directly from Pinterest for use in their content. It's an interesting argument.

You never know what is going to happen with the web, and that's the god honest truth to it all. Thank you for the quick comment, and for being so insightful as well.

I gave it a shot there, and hope my invitation gets approved so I can help other learn much more about it all. Thanks for sharing with me to.
