Please don't employ dirty tricks. Not Wikipedia, or Facebook.
An important rule.
Cheating is not funny.
Throughout history there have been imposters. We have only to go back in Europe to the fourteenth century, and the great schism, to see the damage that was caused to The Catholic Church, by a series of antipopes.
Later in Russia great problems were caused for Catherine the Great by a series of rebellions led by men who claimed to be her dead husband Peter III.
In our own time we have the phenomenon of The Hitler is not dead crazies, or those who swear they have seen Elvis Presley working in their local petrol station.
But I am not writing this article in order to throw further light on those intriguing mysteries, but to tell you about the latest incarnation of that time honoured tradition.
I am referring to the false christopheranton, and the antics of this individual have left me far from amused.
Some of you may be familiar with a hub I published a few days go called "Family Troubles. Not Wikipedia". Some of you read it and were kind enough to leave some very generous comments, which I appreciate.
I was quite pleased with this article, and considered it to be one of my better efforts. As always, with writing, a certain amount of care had to be taken in getting it right, and the whole exercise probably took me around four hours to complete.
Imagine my annoyance yesterday when I discovered that my hub had been unpublished, for violation as a duplicate.
I knew that I hadn’t put it anywhere else, so I fired off a fairly stiff e mail to HubPages to request its immediate reinstatement.
The reply I got shocked me to the core.
I was told that my hub had been published on a site called 68articles.com. That was the reason why my page had been unpublished. When I checked this site, I discovered that was the truth. What is more someone had went to the trouble of registering on 68articles.com using my username, and publishing my article.
When I think about it, this can only have been done by someone who knows the policy on duplications on Hubpages.
I further believe that it can have been done only with one purpose in mind, and that was to sabotage my hub.
I don’t know the identity of the false christopheranton, nor do I suppose it will be possible for me to find out.
I can only assume the action was motivated by some professional jealousy, or dislike of me personally. Whatever the reason, it was a shabby nasty type of thing to do. It has caused me a lot of problems at a period in my life when I have more than enough of them already.
I have contacted the other site, and have had the duplicate removed. I have noticed that my original is still unpublished here. I hope it won’t be too long until it is fully reinstated.
To the false christopheranton I would like to say. Please don’t try anything like that again. Life for decent people is hard enough, without them having to deal with "dirty tricks" from scum like you.
