Promoting your site

Promoting your site

Working online seems easy when you say it doesn’t it. Work at home on your laptop trying to earn a living or just some extra cash. I’ve always known it can be done, working at home it just knowing what is the best thing to do online. Over the years I’ve tried a few, but either I’ve been ripped off or never made much from trying. You here of so many people that have earned so much money you think it must be true.

I came to Hubpages in hope that perhaps I could earn some extra cash. Over the weeks I’ve been on here and reading other people work and writing my own. I realise now it not a piece of cake just writing an article and posting it online. There is so much more to doing than just writing. Once you’ve written your piece of work and have posted it online, on Hubpages you need to promote you work. This is something I don’t realise you have to do. Promoting is the key to making a living working online. Without promoting your work not many people are going to see what you have done and you won’t get paid. Getting people to see your work and then hopefully people will hit that all important ad button and you get paid.

It can be hard work promoting your work, but if you what more traffic to view your work that’s what you need to do. Promoting your site, promoting your Hubpages on different website around the internet to bring in more traffic to your pages. Advertise your site/pages so that your pages will become a high ranking within Google. Working online isn’t easy by any means and you may earn some extra cash along the way. I guess making lots of money online doesn’t happen overnight. But I sure it will be given time and of course the more you write and more you promote your work. You need to put some work into working online. It’s not easy then again no one said it was easy, guess it was me thinking it was.

There are several ways to promote your work online. It does have to cost you either to promote your work. Only if you really want to pay some website to promote your work, then you would need to weigh out the cost of doing so. Promote your site/pages link your site/pages to other sites. Google you site/pages in Google to see where it is and what you need to do to get it to the first page in Google. Promote and promote your site/pages and see the traffic start to view your pages. More view’s you have the better Google ranking you will have. Rank your site/pages and more likely hood of getting more traffic and someone hitting the ad button you need to happen to be paid with Google ad’s.

Some Idea's

1. Social Networking Sites

Effective ways to increase your site’s popularity are social networking sites like Twitter, Facebook, MySpace and so on

2. Social Bookmarking Sites

Social bookmarking sites like Delicious, StumbleUpon, Propeller, Digg are a great way to promote your website.

3. Free Classified Ads

Use free advertising sites like: FreeClassifieds, BestAds, Ad2Go, AdToad, 1Second, CraigsList or ClassifiedsforFree.

4. Use FreeTrafficSystem

With Free Traffic System you get free one-way links from thousands of blogs inside their system. How it works: you write an article and you place inside it a link your site. They will place your article on up to 30 blogs related to your topic. So, you can get one-way backlinks and of course, more traffic and that’s what you need.

5. Use Press Releases

Each time you update your website, write a short press release and submit it to sites like: 24-7 PressRelease, PrLog, i-NewsWire, FreePressRelease, PressMethod, PrUrgent, Pr-Inside.

I use Twitter, Stumbleupon, Digg, Shetoldme, Raggage and Livelinkcafe. The last week I was away with my kids as it was half term here in the UK. I took my laptop so that if I had the chance I would do some writing. A few ago I wrote How to make Blackberry wine. In Google it wasn’t in the top 10 pages of Google. I promoted it using Livelinkcafe during the time I was away with me kids. I got come and did a search in Google and now my How to make Blackberry wine in on the first page. Since hitting the Google’s first page I’ve seen my traffic How to make blackberry wine go up.

Getting on Google’s first page is important for your work in getting more traffic to your pages. How often do you look past the first few pages when you are looking for something on Google or any other search engine you may use. Since being here on Hubpages I’ve learned so much and I learn something new every day.

All these methods above to promote your Hubpages are free to use and can significantly increase the number of visitors on your website. Wish you all the best with your work and keep on writing.

Take care and have fun.

I am new to hubpages but I have used some of the methods you shared above for building backlinks for my lenses. According to my experience keyword focused article along with 3-5 quality backlinks are enough to get you in google top ten search results, if you've targeted your keyword carefully.

Good article on building backlinks for hubs, worth bookmarking for future use.

      Yes, this is a whole true. Writing online can give us just an EXTRA cash - we can't make a fortune by writing and writing. I am fairly new to this community and I would really like to meet and read Hubers work here... So, keep it going... ;}

I would try adding some backlinks into the hub. It is a really great article. Maybe good enough for a hubnugget. You should email it to Shirley Anderson.
