Making Money On Hubpages Questions Answers Tutorial

Updated on June 12, 2014

Getting Our Bearings On Hubpages

Sometimes we can get hopelessly lost on Hubpages. First we sign in to the network by entering our user name and our password. Okay! Now you're in. Where are you exactly?

Starting At The Top

Usually, the url automatically changes from to where we see the live feed. You will also end up at the live feed if you click the HUBPAGES LOGO top left of your screen. [SEE YELLOW HIGHLIGHT IN URL ADDRESS WINDOW]

The next thing you might normally do is click "my account" which shows your Statistics page and earnings for the month. Happy Days!

Questions and Answers on Hubpages

Some people might take advantage of the live feed right off the bat. That's probably why the team directs us there, to see what's happening and to get involved in reading and commenting on the blogs.

However, another option for members of the community, especially if you've been dreaming up some good questions would be to post it to the members. You want to get answers and the advice of experts. You may just end up with opinions on a topic. Any topic.

Notice how you can click the tabs to: STATUS, QUESTION, FORUM
Now this all seems so simplistic, but I can tell you from experience, that there are times when I'm searching where to go on the network to find my way around. The VERY best way to learn is to teach, so that's how this tutorial evolves. I'm learning so much already. [See image below]

Once you hit the QUESTION Tab you can ask away. Make sure it is in the form of a question. I've read so many, shall I say, unanswerable and unanswered questions because they were not English, or just a few words without any form, or not in the form of a question.

Check out this alphabetical list of areas that you can ask a question:

•Arts and Design

•Books, Literature, and Writing

•Business and Employment

•Education and Science

•Entertainment and Media

•Family and Parenting

•Fashion and Beauty

•Food and Cooking

•Games, Toys, and Hobbies

•Gender and Relationships

•Holidays and Celebrations

•HubPages Tutorials and Community

•Personal Finance

•Pets and Animals

•Politics and Social Issues

•Religion and Philosophy

You will be asked if the question you had in mind has already been answered, so it is wise on your part, to check first. In fact, that option will be available once you enter your question. If you think your question is slightly different or has not been answered exactly the way you need a response, then go ahead and post it. Just remember, the automated system may kick it out, think it not relevant, or some type of violation.

  • You will be able to expound further a few more details or background in a paragraph, besides the direct question.
  • You will also have an option to add an image to your question.
  • You will only be able to answer your own question ONE TIME! This means you cannot respond to all those who answer this question. Go to the FORUM if you are interested in having conversational threads with members of the community.
  • You will be able to give thumbs up or down in whether you agree or disagree with respondents.
  • You will be able to edit your question only when you first post it.
  • I will emphasize again that you can't post any links to articles, websites or hubs here.
  • Keep reading for an interesting twist

One reason you will want to participate in the Question/Answer section of Hubpages is to receive points on your badges. One for your questions and the other for your answers. This factors into your overall profile rating. And, most likely also into your commenting status, but I can't be 100% sure on that.

This is the LINK TO THE QUESTION which I am answering on this Hubpages blog.

Remember that these questions may inspire other people to create a whole new hubpages blog about this particular issue. That makes it relevant to the community and you can link from the question to the hubpages and vice-versa.

Just be forewarned that it is a violation to post any type of link to your articles in this section of the network!

You will notice the tabs for "Hot, Latest, Best and Unanswered" questions.

People can ask you questions directly and it will fall into this category of QUESTIONS on the network.

The image at the right shows where you can ask a question under the person's profile image. They will be notified about this action, and can choose whether or not to answer. In fact, other members may also answer the question since it goes in the general QUESTION section.

I Highly Recommend Watching This Video On Answering Questions On Hubpages. Making Money On Hubpages. Do it now!

How Else To Access Your Questions and Answers

You can find a tab called "ACTIVITY" which will house a number of different items to review.

  1. Your Questions
  2. Your Answers
  3. Comments You Made
  4. Fan Mail

Dear MoonLake - This hubpages was written a long time ago. Since then, many things have changed. The tabs and rules on posting links in the QUESTIONS/ANSWERS section. I think you may post a relevant link now. I'm not sure why your answer was taken off. Not to worry. Blessings, Debby

Thanks for this hub. I didn't realize some of this as long as I have been on here I had not read the rules. All my fault of course. Just yesterday my answer was taken off a question and I guess because I said "I had made a hub on this very thing." I didn't put a link on but I guess I should not have said that. Thanks for sharing voted up.

Great tutorial! I do get a bit lost and distracted when I log on, and I spend way too much time! Not that I don't love hubpages, but its' not good if I have errands to do and I end up sitting for hours browsing through hubpages ;)

Hi Eric - Thanks for popping by. Wrinkles in the brain, hmmmm, never thought about that. Yeah, I could use a few more to increase the surface of cells and maybe hold some more memories or create a few neurons to snap with electrical energy. Glad you like it. Blessings, Debby

Good stuff here. I often check the questions section for topic inspiration. I have posted a few myself, but should probably get a few more out there. Never anything wrong with a few more wrinkles in the brain right? LOL

Hello Justin ~ are your rereading this hub about Questions and Answers? Receiving so many emails can be overwhelming. Sometimes I go through a bunch and delete a hundred non-important ones at a time. Then I get into the mood to un-list myself from many websites and make it a point to respond and read to special people in my life. Do take it easy. Blessings, Debby

Debby: What a very nicely explained, illustrated and organized discussion of the ways in which to submit and view questions and answers! It is most helpful the way in which you articulate and reiterate your points through the harmonious use of text and graphic examples.

Thank you for sharing yet another great tutorial, for selecting me and my kitten Gusty as an illustrative example, voted up, etc.,

Enlydia ~ It's taking me a long time to respond to your response. Many people over the years have commented upon my voice. I used to do a lot of guided imagery sessions to help people reduce stress. Just this past week, my daughter's voice teacher also said the same thing about its soothing quality. Many blessings, Debby
