How to Use Hubpages Referral Tracker

Updated on July 8, 2012

Are you using Hubpages Referral Tracker?

See results

After 21 months of being a member of Hubpages, I have finally learnt to use its referral tracker program/ system.

Don't judge me, please! In my defense, it's only recently that I started to write with Hubpages. The hubs you see on my profile - most of them are only a few weeks' old. Check the dates if you don't believe me.

Now that I know how to use Hubpages' referral tracker, I won't be missing out a lot in this site.

Hubpages multiple earning potential

Writing with Hubpages opens several earning potentials. There's

  • Hubpages earnings programs with Hubpages Ad Program and eBay Program;

and there's

  • External affiliates with Google adsense and Amazon.

Hubpages referral trackers can also boost the income we get from Hubpages; and that's especially if the hubbers we refer write a lot of hubs.

We get a small percentage from the income of our referrals. The more referrals we have, the more added hubs money we get.

Increase your eBay potential!

Hubpages referral tracker

Hubpages referral tracker is how we can get referrals.

When someone joins the site using our link, the writer is considered our referral. And we earn a portion from their earnings. Hubpages sheds a little portion of their cut from the revenue it gets from its writers.

If you're a hubber, you can get your referral link in this link >>

Create your own tracker

There is a default tracker set for us. It looks like a random password that's hard to memorize. (See above photo). We can make our own trackers or tokens in the Create a New Tracker section, just below the Referral Trackers section.

Just like this photo below.

Write your desired tracker name and put a short description.
Write your desired tracker name and put a short description.

Now that you have your tracker, you can start linking your hubs with it.

But how? There are 2 ways.

1. Manually inserting your referral tracker to every link. (Very tedious!)

For example:

This is the link to my Healthy Benefits of Watermelons article:

I need to insert say, one of my trackers beingwell to this link.

To do this I have to put _beingwell/ after .com/ of my link. I need to do this to ALL the links I want to have my tracker on. That's a bit too much for me.

Good thing that there is another way - the easy way.

2. Use "Link to this page" at the bottom of your hubs.

Go to your article. Look for "link to this page". It's in between faq and copyright links.

Click that.

Here's what you'll get:

Found at the bottom of Hubpages.

Choose the referral tracker you want to use. Then copy the URL or the HTML code that you can paste to your blog, comments, email or what not!

Choose your referral tracker or token. I used my beingwell tracker

Easy right?

Now, it took me 21 months to finally discover this very basic hubs trick.

Don't make this same mistake. Maximize your earning potential with Hubpages.

Use the referral tracker in syndicating your links to social bookmark or any social media. You'll never know what will happen to these seeds you plant.

If you're not yet on Hubpages, join us today!

Happy hubbing!

My trackers provided me more than 1,000 pageviews in my own hubs and hubs of others that i referred. Good for monitoring where your views came from :)

I didn't get what you mean, susie. What I understand is that you get a referral when people sign up using a link with your tracker on. There's really no need to formally invite them.

That's correct, nakmeister. Manually works too; but I'm just lazy this way. haha!

Hi Beingwell. I've followed the instructions and am not sure if I should put the link within the text of my hub or where to put it! Plus when I clicked on the link (after placing it at the end of the hub) it took me to someone elses hub. I don't get it! Don't I have to include a link to invite someone to join hub pages? ie: (join us today) as you have in your hub?

That is very useful, thanks. I've been doing links manually. You also earn based on page views from links that have your tracker in.
