Slowly but surely you will make money on Hubpages.

Updated on April 19, 2012

"Do not give up on your dream of being a writer"

These are words that have helped me immensely when it comes to keeping up with my writing career.

Up until two years ago, I began to make money as a freelance writer. Given the fact that the money that I made in the very beginning didn't even help me buy groceries, I am proud to say that I have now surpassed my initial goal of what I wanted to make every month, and now I want to take my freelance writing career to a whole new level.

Getting to this point has NOT been easy. I have been critiqued because I decided to stick part-time with Content mills, and then there is Hubpages. There are so many venues through which writers can express themselves and make the money that they want.

I have found Hubpages to be one of those websites where writers are really free to write as much as they like. For me, writing on Hubpages definitely helps me develop my writing skills, and in several occasions it has also helped me attract new customers..

Can you really make money on Hubpages?

That is the question that gets asked the most around here. Out of 100 e-mails that I get on a daily basis, almost 30 of them are from writers, blogger, and even GUEST bloggers that I've had in the past, asking me how I'm making money on Hubpages, and what advice I can give them to help them achieve success as well.

My "success" has not been easy to achieve. In fact, I still do not believe I have been completely successful, since I still have A LOT of goals that I want to achieve in the future. So far, I've been able to:

  • expand my freelance services
  • make a new: blog-beyond words-jessi
  • Attract three new high-paying clients, and
  • Be able to create a THIRD form of income.

As great as this is, there is still SO MUCH that I want to do, not only for myself, but for my son.

For those that are constantly wondering, you can make money on Hubpages. It took me a good 3 months to see a turn around on my earnings. From .50 a day, to dollars at a time. There are many writers that also ask me:

"Where do you make most of your money? Hub Ad program, or Adsense"?

I say: BOTH.

The Hub Ad Program is all about generating traffic to your Hubs, and earning a sufficient amount of money from there. This can be GREAT if writers took the time to learn all about high paying Keywords, AND learned how to promote their hubs. Adsense is all about your readers clicking on your Ads, which any writer knows that sometimes that can be HARD.

Both of these programs can HELP writers make the money that they are looking for. It takes time because writers need to grow both their traffic, readership. and create more Hubs that others will read. This however, does not have to be difficult, it can be fun, and it can actually make hubbers work a little bit harder when it comes to their writing, and learning how to write about any subject.
