Super Hubpages Wishlist for 2011 - What would make Hubpages even Better for members

Updated on June 22, 2011

My super Hubpages Wishlist for 2011. What is yours?

Alright, I am finally starting to love hub pages and my following is starting to inch up slowly. I am organizing Hubcamp Online for September and finally gaining some momentum.

After being on Hub Pages for 5 weeks, I have a wishlist to make Hubpages even better. I hope you like some of this wishlist and most of it is for features that help us communicate with the HP community more.

1. A way to address our followers

Hub pages gives no way for us (at least that I can find) a way to address our followers. Facebook pages have the ability of sending updates to their fans or people who liked the page. I think this should be a no brainer feature for us. Yes, it is true that when we publish a new hub, our followers get an email notification that their favorite hubbers have new hubs, but we should be able to send updates ourselves.

2. A personal micro-blog for members - sort of like Tweets

Ok, we have to publish hubs that are a minimum of 400 words. That is fine. No complaint there. However, we should be able to to publish little mini blog posts.

3. A status like on Facebook

Why not. On Facebook, people who are our friends see our status, why not our followers. With this feature, we would let our followers know that we have published a new hub instead of just receiving that email notification (which I hardly read).

4. A way to group our hubs with other hubbers for even more exposure.

Yes, it is true that we can link to each other's hubs and get good hub karma. yada yada yada, but if some of our friends in the Hubpages community right similar articles to our own, it would be great to have a cross link tool where the two hubbers can have all their hubs link to each other (with an option to override the group feature for specific hubs). This would educate our hub followers even more and show we are about each other here.

5. Allow hubbers to be listed under different categories (maybe with a maximum of 2 or 3 so the spammers don't take advantage of this).

I write several articles on website design as I have been doing it for 15 years. I can sign up under the Web Design technology category people looking for those web design articles will see me faster. I am sure you can think of your favorite categories where YOU would like to be listed.

What is your hubpages wishlist?

I have already written a hub with my wish list, but I hadn't thought about being able to choose more than one category. I would love that - I have a tendency to write about things that fit more than one category, and I hate having to choose one.

Hey Cameron, thanks. Yeah, knowing the hubscore would be good, but I think if Hubpages told us the secret behidn the hubscores, they would have to kill us. LOL

I am now following you as well.

Interesting and I agree with a lot of your suggestions! We can however, already set statuses from the Home page. I personally would like a detailed description of the Hubscore. It seems like such a random number and I will think I write a really good Hub only to find that it gets a really low score. If we had a detailed layout of why we recieved the score, then we could take steps to making our Hubs better!
