The Darkling Tag: BunnyClaws
I receive loads of messages on a daily basis so I know that a lot of you wonder about the person behind the screen. For this reason I have decided to finally complete the Darkling Tag as I thought it would be a fun way for my readers and followers to get a little insight to my personal preferences. I know this tag is traditionally completed via vlog form but, well, there's nothing traditional about me anyway so why not do this differently too!
1. What is your favourite candle scent?
I am usually always drawn to sweet candle scents and can find myself standing in a store aisle for ages while I sample each one. As far as favourites go I am really in love with Vanilla Cupcake from Yankee Candle.
2.Do you have a favourite book?
I have always been an avid reader and when I start a book I struggle to put it down, so much so that I usually finish books the same day I start them. Whoops...
3.Are you a tea or coffee person?
Honestly? Neither. I will occasionally have a cup of tea but I much prefer hot chocolate in all of its variations.
4.What is your favourite brand and colour of lipstick?
I, unlike a lot of people don't have a huge collection of lipsticks as I sometimes decide to go without but I really love liquid matte lipsticks due to their durability. I think Lime Crime's Salem and Bloodmoon are definitely my two favourites though.
5.What is your favorite perfume/cologne?
Much like with candles, I tend to prefer those that are sweeter scented. I purchased an artisan oil based perfume a while ago from one of my closest alternative stores and it was perfect. I also really adore Soap and Glory's Mist You Madly the Ari perfume by Ariana Grande *gasp*, how very un-goth of me. It is an amazing perfume though.
6.Do you have a celebrity crush?
I don't actually, not even a little bit. The male celebs that I do find attractive completely contrast from each other and I don't think any of them would really be classed as alternative, just crazy.
7.If you had to give up the color black, what color would you choose instead?
I would end up wearing a shade of really dark grey probably, I would still wear the other colours that I do on occasion like dark red, green and purple though.
8.If you could change your name to a stereotypical 90s/2000s gothy name, what would it be?
When I was growing up I was always so obsessed with Thorn from Scooby Doo's Hex Girls so I think I would choose that.
9.What are your top three tips for surviving hot weather while black clad?
I actually published a whole article quite recently on my top tips for getting through the summer while remaining true to your preferred appearance. You can find it here.
10.What song will always make you happy (doesn’t have to be a goth band)?
Not gothy in the slightest but Sultans of Swing by Dire Straits is one of the songs that always makes me happy.
11.Are you active in the arts (ex. Play an instrument, paint, write, etc)?
I love playing around with my creative side by drawing and painting or planning tattoos for the future. Of course I regularly write on here but I do hope to be able to publish a book someday. I also play a blue acoustic guitar named Ronnie.
12.If you had a teacup or mug made inscribed just for you, what would you have it say?
Probably something along the lines of Spooky/Creepy Bunny. It's not something I've put a lot of thought into until now but I think I will try and be more creative in future. If you have any better ideas then I would love to hear them in the comments section.
13.What is your number one non-gothy hobby?
I suppose gaming or Karate as I like to keep as active as I can.
14.If you could be a supernatural creature, what would it be & why?
I know a lot of people would probably expect me to choose Vampires because I think that's the most common one people covet but I would rather be a Shapeshifter of sorts.
15.What horror monster-based super power would you have?
Immortality and eternal youth with the ability to share my power with those who I love so that I wouldn't have to lose them and end up completely isolated for the rest of my unnatural life.
16.Do you feel confident or comfortable interacting with other Goths or gothy people (online or IRL)? Why or why not?
I feel better about talking online. I don't feel comfortable in the company of anyone I don't know really well regardless of how people class themselves. When it comes to the Goth community I'm finding the growing elitism is rather off putting for potential conversations which is a real shame.
17. Which is more important for a look: Great hair or great makeup?
Make-up is much more important to me than how my hair looks. I'm quite lucky in the fact I don't need to do much for my hair to look okay, it just kind of does it's own thing most of the time. Make-up I feel I can be more creative with and it doesn't result in burns which of course is always a bonus.
18.Is there something you wish there was more of in your subculture?
I don't really think there is anything I would like more of, In my honest opinion it would benefit from a less judgmental attitude from some people who feel there are strict rules that must be followed in order to be part of it.
19.Care to share an embarrassing story related to your “darkliness“?
I'm not sure if I have an embarrassing story to share directly associated to my darker inclinations.
20.How are you at DIY?
By no means am I the best but I get by and I enjoy being creative whenever I feel motivated to do so.
Quickly describe your ideal wedding.
I haven't envisioned how my wedding will be, only some details of it. It would be a small outdoor ceremony, hopefully in the forest where we could be hand-fasted.
