The good ways to deal with change

When change happens in life most people don’t like it but there are a select few people that do. Change is limitless because it is happening all of the time. If you say to someone that something is changing depending on that person they might be all smiles and happy about it, or they might grumble, most people, don’t like change. Change is a scary thing for people so they like limitless routine, which means things in their lives stay the same. So when people don’t like change, but they have to change for some reason how do they deal with it in a good way? First off, what causes change? The biggest thing in your life that would cause change is stress, whether it be with family or your job or even something in your life regarding friends or school.

So let’s say you’re in college and you have a huge assignment due on Friday but your computer crashes on Wednesday, what do you do? Besides the obvious go and get it fixed. Instead of freaking out, why not take a breath, and write down a list of things that can help you with your issue. You could go to the library to get your assignment done, go to the school to get it done, or even borrow a friend’s computer. Or let’s say, you are moving from one place to other and it is the first time that you have moved or your moving schools. First of all, let’s talk about moving to a new place where you don’t know anyone, how do you deal with that, do you stay cooped up, and not put yourself out there, or do you put yourself out there and see what happens?

If you are a person who doesn’t like change, how would you go about dealing with it? I know that I am a person who doesn’t like change but change happens all the time no matter what you want, nothing is ever going to stay the same. So instead of getting angry and upset because something changed and you didn’t want it too, what are some good ways of dealing with it?

First off it depends on what in your life changed, for example, if you lost your job. Did you get fired from your job, did you just quit because you didn’t like it anymore or did the job you were doing shut down, due to something that happened in the workplace. If something like that happened, the good way to deal with it is to look at the positives of the experiences you had at that specific job, for example, did you have a lot of laughs, or learn something new about yourself that you didn’t know before.

The good ways of dealing with change are to look at the changes in a positive way. For example, let’s say you’re moving. You love the house that you are moving out of, but the other house that you are moving into has new and better opportunities for your ever changing life. When things change whether it be for a good or bad reason, always think positively, it will make things better for you in the end. Change happens and there is no stopping it, the best way to deal with it, no matter what the change is, is to take it one step at a time. Sure you might have some road blocks in what you are trying to change but after you work all the kinks out, things will work out in the end. You can even ask someone for help if you need it, or write out a pros and cons list of what the change can do for your life at that precise moment or time.

Thinking change through is the best way to deal with it because if you just jump head first you might not like the outcome and what happens then. When people don’t like the outcome of what changes they try to change it back, and most of the time when they realize it, it’s too late. The good way to deal with it is to let it run its course and see what it benefits in the end. I have already said write down a pros and cons list, and that is also another big thing you can do. If you don’t like to change the best way to deal with it, is to take it one step at a time, when you do that you aren’t looking at the big picture you are looking at a bunch of little ones. When you look at a bunch of little pictures it is easier to handle. When dealing with change, taking it in small steps or even asking for help when needed will work wonders because you won’t feel so overwhelmed then.

Another example of a good way to deal with change is, breathing exercises or relaxing if something changes unexpectedly what is our first thought. Oh no, we have to move faster because if we move faster it won’t feel so scary or yell at the people around you because they don’t know what you are going through. Those are bad ways to deal with change, first off if something changes unexpectedly, sure it might be fast, but that is the time in your life where you say okay I need to relax and figure out where I am going at this precise moment that, is when you would usually take a break from what you are doing, by either going for a drive, a walk or even watching television, or closing your eyes and trying to get to your happy place.

Another example is choosing your thoughts and actions more carefully. Think before you act, I know everyone has heard that, but do we implement it when we are dealing with change? Probably not as much as we should so why not do that more. That is a good way to deal with a change in life no matter what the change might be.

You could also journal about the changes in your life. Sometimes if you write down what has changed in your life, it doesn’t look so foreign and confusing. It is sometimes a lot easier to deal with when you have it written down and you look back at it when you have a clear mind. I used to journal when I was going through things and it seemed to help, especially when something in my life unexpectedly changed and I didn’t know how to deal with it, I would write down what changed write what I thought about it, leave it for a while and then go back and read it again to see if I changed for the better or if I still need to do some work.

The good ways to deal with change comes from your perspective of what change is. It also comes with you thinking positively about how to change something in your life. If you don’t have a positive outlook on the changes in your life, there would be no good way to deal with it. Another big thing about change is thinking positively about what to change and how to do it that will benefit not only you but the people around you, which is a win, win for everyone. This is just my perspective of the good ways to deal with change. Others might have other perspectives, but that is because nobody thinks the same way, and that is a good thing because that means we are all unique and who doesn’t like being their own person?

Good things can come out of change all you have to do is look at it like that and it will happen. Never give up, change is limitless, which means the good things that can come out of change are limitless.
