Three Months In

Updated on August 3, 2012

I have noticed that many hubbers have been posting about their recent successes and personal experiences here on hubpages so I figured why not get in on this.

Starting out

When I first joined I have to admit that I didn't really know what to expect. I have been blogging for a few years and have not had very much success getting a good following together. My most recent blog has been my best success so far but it doesn't come close to hubpages. In the beginning I found it very hard to figure out what to write about, I kept seeing all these people talking about the 30-30 challenge and all I could think was "how do they have what to write about?" But I have found that when I least expect it inspiration will hit. Like right now I am working on a hub that the topic came to me when I met a total stranger.

What I have been seeing lately is a *huge* influx of hubs about making money on hubpages and I know that its slow in the beginning. I can honestly say that for the first month or so I earned close to nothing and was getting very few views, but after reading some very helpful hubs I have been able to harness a few more views and have finally gotten over the 400 views mark and even made more than $0.10 this month! I feel that you have to appreciate the little things in life. I'm not going to be a millionaire but at least I know that by the end of the year I should hit a dollar.

It has definitely been an experience. I have learned a lot in these three months things that I have been applying to my older hubs and things that I will try to remember for future posts both here and on my personal blog.

So far it has been a wonderful experience with all you hubbers. I have realized that setting goals for more views, more comments or more money are much more difficult to attain than goals such as posting 10 hubs a month or something along those lines. I hope to have a few more hubs posted each month and be able to build myself a better readership online. For all you who have been reading my hubs I thank you and look forward to sharing more hubs with you.

I just started here a few days ago. I have been writing a silly blog for about two months and this is the "serious" one. It's nice to see people reading my stuff, but I honestly have to say that I'm doing this for me and not too interested in traffic. One of the things I have noticed is that a lot of hubs look cookie-cutter and with an identical format. Is that what the website expects of us? Also I have noticed tons and tons of simple spelling and grammatical mistakes. Have you noticed this? I'm not trying to be critical of anyone, just curious since you relatively new to this like me. Congratulations on the 10 cent profit also! I'll read some of your other articles.

Congrats on your success this far! It takes a long time to build up traffic, but keep at it and your efforts will pay off. I hope to see more of you around here!
