Top 100 Hubbers by Traffic Percentage for July 2013: Are You on the List?

Updated on July 2, 2013
Source

© 2013 by Aurelio Locsin.

This new hub updates and incorporates previous hubs on hubber traffic. It uses information from Alexa, which I encourage you to visit if you want more information. The site shows that 25.27%of all visitors to Hubpages go directly to hubpages.com. The rest of the traffic is divided among various hubbers and the Hubpages blog.

I am no longer on the list because most of my time goes to other internet activities.

Top Three

Congratulations to the top three hubbers for July 2013. The percentage after each username represents the percentage of total HubPages views each receives.

1. Ibot (1.96%) climbs to the top spot, hails from Bali, Indonesia, and is completely mysterious, not having any kind of a profile. He joined two years ago and his stats totally defy what Hubpages pushes as a successful hubber. His hubscore is only 73. He has only three followers and has followed only two hubbers. Although his stats lists 18 hubs, he is showing only seven hubs, with five about a Ninja Juicer food processor and two on weddings. Among his accolades are views over 100,000 and having had at least five simultaneously featured hubs.

2. Brian Scott (creativegenius) (1.35%) joined eight months ago from the United States. A self-employed writer, graphic designer and website developer, he has 18 hubs, 73 followers and follows 18 hubbers. Most of his hubs are on writing and literature. His hubs on SEO traffic and job searching are definite reads.

3. Maria Fuentz (marzfuentz) (1.25%) joined only four months from the Philippines and shows five hubs and no followers. Her hubscore of 68 covers five hubs on Philippine cuisines, social media, applying makeup, choosing a PC operating system and treating allergies.

Finishing the Top 100

98. Chandra Shekhar (shekharparihar) (0.09%) has been a freelance writer for over three years and comes from New Delhi, India. He joined only seven weeks ago and has six followers and six hubs, and is following 17 hubbers. His writing, which gives him a hubscore of 83, focuses on air travel, including how and where to buy cheap tickets.

99. Paul Jasvinder (jasvinderpaul) (0.08%) joined three months ago from London, England, and enjoys content writing for the web, newpapers and magazines. He has four hubs on the home, and art and design, and a hubscore of 75. He also has four hubs and four followers, and is following 13 writers.

100. Relationshipc (0.07%) is from Alberta, Canada, and became a hubber three years ago. She has 237 followers, 90 hubs and is following 237 hubbers. She likes to write about relationships, personal growth, alternative health and pets. She owns a miniature pinscher and a miniature schnauzer.

Awesome compilation, Alocsin! Eh...I don't think I've ever made the list. Hmm...I've written a lot of hubs, but I'm not so good on the trends, LOL. Plus, I spend a lot of my time elsewhere. Ah well. :)

Great list! Thanks for compiling it. I was going to blame the fact that I only have 14 published hubs for the reason I'm not on the list...but the top three on the list all have less than 18--so there goes that excuse! Ah well, congrats to all on the list and thanks again for tracking all this stuff for us.

I made the list! I was surprised since my traffic has been down. But maybe everyone's is. I was 91, but that's okay. I'm honored. And I think it's very cool that you take the time to do these lists. Thank you!

Ha ha ha ... wow, those stats just don't add up eh!? How did unactive, new hubbers without much content land at the top of the pile ... very interesting. I would guess it is the Google updates settling down and that things will be changing a lot over this year. I was also kinda SHOCKED to see that I was in the top 50% for 2012. Been working on other projects this year, but about to get back into Hubpages ... let's see if I can get back on the board! lol

It's interesting that who gets into the top spots sometimes defies the standard assumptions/logic. A couple of the top three have low Hubber scores and practically new accounts. So, the do-follow for the Hubber profile doesn't seem to matter, and the old claim that age is a factor in indexing and traffic doesn't seem to apply in their cases; nor does community interaction seem to be a factor in those case; I've never seen them (except I just read a great Hub by Brian Scott), and at least one has few followers. I'm guessing they are pretty good at SEO.

This is some pretty amazing and eye-opening information. Hmmmm . . . . are we missing something in terms of what it takes to be successful as online writers? I say that based on most of the top hubber stats you present, you don't need a lot of hubs to meet your goals. It seems that it's the type of hub and the size of your audience that really matters. Excellent work, voted up and useful.

I am exploring the Internet as I never have berofe. I have more time since I reitred. It seems like there are millions of blogs on the Internet today and the more I read the more I want to comment on them. Your blog is not like most of the blogs that I read on the Internet, and I like the style of what you are presenting here. I not only read and comment on the blogs of others but I now have my own blog and my own website. In the text boxes I have entered my email address and my website URL. Is it ok that I included them? I'm not a cynic, but it does make you wonder when at least 3 of the top 100 have been banned from HubPages, including the #1! Methinks some people may have been gaming the system.

    • profile image

I think that some of the "traffic success" in HubPages is the result of what I would call buddy-groups or "clicks"... people who are social friends on HP and who visit each other's hubs on a regular basis, etc. I for one don't know very many people here on HubPages as I'm sort of a loner both on and off the web. I'm an okay writer but receive a lot of negative criticism on HP if I write something against someone's views, and have acquired a few stalkers who have harassed me off from HP and offline because of my views. All said, despite the flack I have received from a few deranged individuals I continue to write on HP. The harder part is the fact that I am not much of an online socialite with people I don't know, which from reading this hub is likely a detriment to my HP rankings.
