Underpaid, In Between Jobs or Need Some Extra Cash, You Can Stay Where You Are and Start Earning

Updated on June 18, 2010

Sounds too good to be true?

It might but there's no other way to find out but to try it out for yourself.

If you are an out of work, out of luck, an underpaid employee, a freelancer, a self-employed person, if you are a business owner, if you are an expert in something, anything, or if you are in between jobs, a stay at home mom or dad, out of school youth or you just basically need some extra cash.

Then why not try to write at Hubpages?

If you have something to say, if you could write it down, if you have the time to write it and if you know that you can make some money for yourself if you could, then would you do it?

It sure did look like a no brainer to me.

And you know what? It is.

Welcome to Hubpages, a User Generated Content Website, where every user has intellectual property rights to everything the user writes and publishes in it. And it’s all free and simple.

Of course, everybody loves free and simple.

But easy it is not.

And a quick-rich-scheme? Hubpages is definitely not! Far from it, if you ask me. But you do could make some pretty decent amount of money pretty quick.

It is not an online scam.

It is not a company where you need to be trained first, where you would need to buy materials first, where you would be asked to put up a some money first or where you will need to invest first in order to start earning, it is not network marketing and you do not need to buy anything right now or buy anything every month or buy anything at all to get paid.

This is not a Ponzi Scheme and this is not Multi Level Marketing.

It is not any of that!

Just wanted to make that crystal clear.

And also it is not a social networking site, well in a way it could be for many users, especially for those who have been users dating back to its first year back in 2006. Literally, I did not say that some Hubbers are dating but who knows what happens within the Hubpages forums and the Hubpages hubs?

For Hubpages being a site where the people who come in and stay, share common interests, share common passions and share many other commonalities, it would be hard not to imagine that some users use it for networking, to share ideas and other similar ventures. But we have Facebook and other similar sites for that, don’t we?

What else, is it not?

I’m pretty sure Hubpages is not a blogging site, well even though some Hubbers (as what users of Hubpages call themselves) do treat it as their blog site.

But it sure was not intended to be one. It can mimic one but it will not be painless. One writes blog posts in blogging sites, such as Blogger or many other sites, while Hubbers write Hubs at Hubpages.

Although don’t get me wrong, I have seen a number of hubs which really look like blog posts and they really are and they really function as blog posts, as online journals, or they are mere daily rants and spur of the moment ramblings and/or tweets as they could be that short, or they could be anything else for that matter.

But it thus defeat the real purpose of Hubpages which is to deliver searchable quality content rich websites (hubs) written by Hubbers (or Hub Writers) on virtually any topic.

But all Hubbers are different and all of them are there to write and publish content which they sure know and love and are passionate about. Nothing wrong with that. And if they are having fun doing it and if they could make money off of it, then why fix something that isn’t broke?

Okay this one I am sure Hubpages is not, it is not a video sharing website or it is not a show window for Youtube or any other videos.

It is also not a photo sharing website, so it is also not Flickr or a Flickr wannabe.

But that is not to say that there are no hubs published out there which looks like Youtube or Flickr. In fact there are quite a lot of them out there actually. Hubpages do explicitly say that they frown upon sexually explicit content, so it’s good not to go that route if you do plan on making hubs that will express your artistic and literary talents by the use lots of videos and photos.

Hubpages is also not a poetry sharing website or a fiction website factory, but as in all other things it is not, Hubbers still makes Hubs to write lovely poetry and share their fiction stories.

Lastly it is not Squidoo, although I am pretty sure they have a lot in common. And what are Hubs in Hubpages are Lenses in Squidoo. You do have to check them out to find out why they are called Lenses to begin with, and it should be interesting to find that out on your own.

For you do need to do a little online research if you are to succeed in Hubpages or other similar user generated content rich websites. But you can easily do your own research, on your own, where you are right now, anytime of the day.

So last but not the least, if you know you have something to share to the world...

If you know you could compose it...

Write it down! That's what that keyboard in front of you is for.

If you know you can make a great title, spruce up a hubpage with photos and videos and similar perks and links and stuff with the many built-in Hubpages design tools which you don't really need any technical expertise to start using...

And if you are ready to make some serious money by putting the same amount of time you might actually be doing right now with your blog posts, your tweets, your google searches, your facebook and your flickr accounts...

Then why wait?

Click here and start becoming a Hub Author and publish the first of your many Hub pages today.

Hubpages Forums, Staff and many very helpful new and long time Hubbers are readily available 24/7 for all your newbie questions. All you need to do is ask. And it all starts by signing up for free at Hubpages.

You still there?

If you have a lot of free time on your hands, and if all you do is sit in front of your notebook or computer monitor anyway, then you should at least give it a try, it might be the best thing you ever did.

And I don’t see any reason not to.

There are no start-up costs, no fees to pay, no recurring charges, no quotas to meet, no downlines, no uplines, no requirements and applications to pass, no tests, no interviews to take and no bosses looking over your shoulder waiting for you to make a mistake.

So if you’d ask me, if you are the right person which I think you are, then not signing up would be a big mistake. If you text, if you google, if you yahoo, if you aol, if you tweet, if you facebook, if you flickr, if you do myspace, youtube, blogger, blogspot, wordpress, anything, if you do any of that then you are already halfway into making things happen for you within Hubpages.

And all you really need at this point is to sign up. And did I say, for free? And become a Hub Author today.

If you’re still there, then if by chance you have a buck to spare then just buy yourself a lottery ticket and shoot for the moon. Or start something productive and sign up to Hubpages.

Here’s your last chance.

People should look at the money that they will make here on Hubpages as a reward for sharing their knowledge .

I agree with what you are saying about HubPages, but earning money here takes hard work. I wouldn't want to try and put food on the table with the earnings, but use the extra change as a small incentive to keep writing as a hobby and as a little something on the side of a full time job.
