What is it like when you achieve 10,000 page views on Hub Pages ?

Updated on November 4, 2012

poshcoffeeco achieves 10,000 page views.

Thursday 5th April 2012.

I did wonder if this day was going to come. 8 months after I started on Hub Pages, a 30/30 hub challenge, a new, more demanding job, countless distractions, oh and 94 hubs written.

As the picture shows 10k is an endurance race and you do need a certain kind of fitness to complete this event.

Training for this event is demanding at times, some would say gruelling. Me, well I have to say that I have derived much pleasure and satisfaction from attaining this acolade.

How do I feel?

Satisfied, proud, itching to turn out good quality and interesting work that people will want to read and often. I feel that I want to tell everybody I speak to that I have achieved something worthwhile and tangible, but I resist. I resist because speaking to people outside my event circles means there is a chance that I may be put off from doing what I am doing for fear that may ridicule me. The Dream Stealers again. I have spoken about them before. Don't let them steal your dreams so be careful who you share your dreams, aspirations and accomplishments with.

Right now I feel the most confident about my event, 10K, than I ever have. This is because I have won the event in my mind so many times. Ask any sports man or woman and they will all tell you that you have to see yourself winning at your chosen event or endeavour. I have seen this accolade on my site everytime I have logged in even though it was never there. It has been the trophy, no medal that I have most craved for the last 8 months and now it is mine.

Winning is part of who we are. Everybody get's a lift from winning in our main event. It moves us to even bigger and better things. What will the next competition be which I take part in? You would think that an achievable target should be the next thing to set my stall out for. And it will be, but I am torn between doing it in logical steps as part of my training regime or going the whole hog and aiming for marathon status. You will all have your own ideas on this as I have. The difference is I know and you will have to wait to see what it is I choose.

Stamina is the most important thing in endurance training so I guess I will have to focus on this in my daily workouts. Adding to this will be some sprint training for me to speed up the process in the hope that I can get there quicker with the least amount of strain on my body and mind.

As long as I have my fitness coaches willing me on ( fellow Hubbers) I am sure the next win will not be too far away. Nobody can do it for me I know, but encouragement and support from friends and followers is very important. We all have our cheerleaders here and I would like to take the opportunity at this time to thank my loyal followers and friends for the support and encouragement you have shown me. With this in mind it is always difficult to quit when you have people in your corner. They constanly remind you that Winners never Quit and Quitters never Win. The last eight months has taught me this. Before I began training for the 10K I would have quit things at the first hurdle if things were too hard or weren't going in my favour. Now I accept the challenge and go all out for the win, in all parts of my life. Quitting is not in a Hub Page athlete's vocabulary. The Hub Page athlete is an awesome machine when going at full pace and is one not to be meddled with.

2012 What a year.

2012 is a year of great occasions here in the UK. probably the biggest event will be the staging of the London Olympics and is quite fitting that I should relate my 2012 goals to a sporting event such as this. Associating your targets and achievements in the form of sporting events can make them more interesting and less of a chore to get moving towards them. Achieving the set targets and celebrating them means that we are more likely to continue down the road to success in our chosen field. Remembering the celebrations and how we feel at the time will be the one thing which will propel us forward and to get out everyday for those all important training sessions, the main activity to get us to the winners tape at the end. Pushing through the pain barrier when we want to collapse because our being is telling us we are tired. Oh yes you know what I am talking about. Early mornings, late nights all become worthwhile when we have the trophy in our hands.

2012 is proving to be my best ever.

The way that things are going I can see that 2012 will be a successful year for me and for all of you on Hub Pages providing you know where you are going.

As with the track and field events of the London 2012 Olympics there has got to be a plan of action to get through the heats to the semi-finals and the finals. Where are you right now in your given event? I believe I have just gotten through the my first heat and I am in gear and heading straight through to the semi's. A place in the final is still a way off but I can see the victory ceremony from here and it looks great. Standing on the podium waiting to pick up my medal from a VIP is a tempting proposition. A proposition I replay regularly in my head as though it has already happened and that I am the owner of the Gold Medal in the Hub Page Article Writing event. You never know, maybe we could invent our own Hub Page Olympics in celebration of what we have to go through on a daily basis to get what we want out of our hard work.

Planning your training.

The best advice I could give to anyone who is training to attain the next goal or win in a competition has to be that your plan of how you are going to do it is the most important piece of preparation that you can do to make sure that you are victorious in your 2012 Hub Page Olympics.

Take time out before you embark on your next goal to plan how you will get there and set out the steps you need to get there. Seeing yourself already doing it will give focus to your mind and will trick it into believing that you have already achieved the goal. Imagine regularly what it is going to be like after the event and how you will feel knowing that your win is guaranteed providing you put in the effort in your training on a daily basis. The hubs you write is your training. Training that will ultimately make you a better writer and get you focusing on the top. Of course where you see your final destination will be different to the next person, but you need to have it in mind. How else will you know when you eventually get there.

As with any athlete the pinnacle of their success is the Olympics. Not just getting there to compete, but winning the ultimate challenge and being able to remember it for the rest of their lives. This 2012 Olympic year is your chance to make a start on getting to your Olympic final, whatever the event you will take part in you will be great so long as you keep the dream alive and the vision of where you want to end up.

Tell everybody I'm Elated
