Once upon a time we had Hubpages Elite

Cardisa you're such a help and good role model for us

First of all I would like to congratulate you on writing one hell of a hub here Cardisa (Here's a link to her awesome hub about becoming a hubpages Elite), filled with passion for being a hubber, as well as a select member of the hubpages Elite Team. (This program is no-longer around but this article is proof of its existence, and importance it once had on hubpages)

"You my friend Cardisa, are one of the very reason's why I love hubpages so much, it is filled with real true emotional people, who have true impact in this world, and not just in the digital sense."

When our words meet

Since I met up with her words here on hubpages, I knew this was the place for me. I met many of her hub articles in my very first week, and mainly because I was intrigued by seeing the differing grades of individuals on hubpages, some folks had that cool E symbol on their hubpages profile, and others had no such thing, and so I felt as if there must have been a reason for such a identification difference of sorts.

This made me curious to dig and find answers for why such a thing existed in the first place. I joined hubpages in August of 2011, just a year ago, and so I had no clue what I was up against here, but to no avail I stood determined to find out more.

I'm very different from the average writer on the web today and very curious at that. So when I sense something appears different, it puzzles me, and so I begin to put on my investigative hat, like I was Sherlock Holmes with his trusty pipe, and I get into deep seek mode.

She's not only a Hubpages Elite, but she's also in the apprenticeship program on hubpages, working diligently to help greet folks into the hubpages community, while simultaneously writing with a flair of courageousness, intensity, and unique style

Learning about the hubpages Elite took me some research

So what I did when I first seen a Hubpages Elite profile, and I believe it was Simone Smith's the first one I located, I chose to look and search for all the answers, I put the "Elite" term into the hubpages search field, and walla! something began to get warm, and I was getting much closer to finding out what it had meant to be a Hubpages Elite.

I also found the hubpages learning center by being investigative, and all of this occurred within the first few hours after I had published my very first hub, and on the first day I arrived here as a new member. So, this all was quite shocking to discover for me, but I then thought to myself "Wow, what a jewel in the digital Nile I just discovered, hubpages is an anomaly of sorts indeed."

Now, when I finally arrived to meet up with your hubpages profile Cardisa, it must have been about 2 weeks later or so, I would search through the hubbers link, which has since been retired. You know the link we used to have, where we could search for hubbers by hubscore beginning from the highest hubbers to the lowest hubbers. "I wonder what happened to that navigation link, yikes, and all that awesome hubpages traffic down the drain, Hehe"

Meeting your profile for the first time

Finding your profile was a cool moment Cardisa, and mainly because I wanted to see how diverse this network actually spans itself in terms of racial as well as ethnic diversity, and finding that you were from Jamaica, and other hubbers were from so many places on the globe as well, and you was a Hubpages Elite at that, it gave me hope.

One thing the average person may not realize is that many of us are looking for something to believe in today, because this world is overshadowed with so much failure. I was looking for something to relate to, and especially because I have yet to find my true calling in life and or success. Seeing that another person like myself, could manage to become an Elite member, is a motivation, and true inspiration in itself.

Your image brought me hope Cardisa, and I am not afraid to mention such a fact, because many of us simply get ignored today, and our efforts bypassed for some odd reason, at times it makes me wonder if its because of having a particular profile image or something else, hence the reason why I chose to go with my company's icon image for my profile, so not to be judged by my peers on a profile image alone, and rather by the quality of my words as well as efforts made here on hubpages & beyond.

Hubpages Leaders deserve a huge thanks for their help

I do believe that the Hubpages Elite Team, definitely deserve to be thanked in a huge way for all that they've done for us all in the HP community, many of them are no different from us. After all it is was voluntary thing to become a hubpages Elite, and even though it may appear that they are placed in a position far above the average hubber, and a bit of the cool perks that goes along with such a cool position. (The new name of the program is now the Team Welcome Wagon, but all the roles and job functions have changed)

When it comes to writing, and the potential to attract viewers worldwide as well as within the hubpages system, the true measure of such a thing is solely determined by the fabric of their writings and communications skills here as a hubber. So with that being said, those hubpages Elite individuals who go far above and beyond the call of duty here in the hubpages community, definitely deserve a bravo! from us all for their selfless devotion the helping everyone they have come in contact with in some way or another.

This responsibility as a truly dedicated and highly motivated hubber comes with a great deal of responsibility as well as visibility, and these Elite folks are granted certain elements on their hubpages account that the average hubber does not have. So, in effect to be a hubpages Elite is in fact something of a noble cause, and purpose to effectively help us members in the community to eventually shine ourselves, and plus new hubber need a human's guidance starting out, which many of them may fall short of receiving at times. I enjoy the contest that are thrown by hubpages, and they motivate us normal hubbers to try and do better, which all many of the hubpages Elite are responsible for managing as well.

@expertscolumn, Well the term did spark a bit of hate and discontent for those folks whom were the feeling it wasn't right and all, but today there is a new name that exists for the same job pretty much, and its the welcome wagon team. Except for them having to conduct the job of scanning hubs as they use to years back during contests and all, its now all automated, and so this is why the program changed I do believe.

Thanks for the comment and for sharing.

I guess with elite, people may have felt their writing was never good enough but with that gone, only thing that matters is the hubscore?

Thank you @Denise Handlon, I tried my best to point out whatever I felt was pertinent, and important in being a hubpages Elite from all the research I had done, and by making effective communications with many of the Elites themselves, it seem like a tough responsibility indeed, but doable.

@dwachira, thanks for your awesome comment you left for me, I hope so too when it comes to people becoming Hubpages Elite's in the near future, because it is a huge responsibility to uphold, and one that demands a good level headedness.

@AEvans, thank you for being so kind to take the time to read up on my hub here, you are so cool for that, and for providing your well received feedback.

I do enjoy hubbing a great deal I must say, and especially because many of us communicate so well with one another like this, and the hubpages community has been so good to me, so respectful are most hubbers, and this makes hubpages undeniably the best writers network ever in my book.

So I do what I can for this community as my form of paying it forward, and for those who have been joining hubpages after me as well as for my fellow veteran hubbers who've gone before me, and for those who've helped me learn to continue such a powerful awesome hubbing legacy.

You AEvans have definitely been a role model to me as well, and many countless others, all I'm doing is following in you guys and gals digital footsteps, plus it goes with my personality I've always had already (:

      Hello CloudExplorer,

I read the hub about Hubpages Elite by Cardisa and what she goes through being a Hubpages Elite, i just hope many will realize the need for this call and view it as a worthy cause rather than a Privilege . You have done well to follow that here and i hope this will finally drive the point home. Voted up and useful

Great Hub to help us better understand what a member of the Elite team does exactly...I always wondered. I'm sure it requires a lot to time and dedication and I admire those who are on this team.

I voted this Hub UP, etc. and will share.

@Cardisa, thank you so much for giving my hub a good read, and for responding back to my hub I wrote about your hub, and also thanks for inspiring me to write it as well.

I applied for the hubpages Elite program recently, and hopefully I make it, because I am willing to help others as I've been doing thus far for my entire first year here on hubpages.

Either way though I'll keep helping folks if I'm not accepted, because its the least thing I can do for all the hub loving support I receive all the time

You do have a way with words and your tributes and help certainly do not go ignored. There are just some people in life who go that extra mile whenever they can..They are generally selfless and don't have pre-planned agendas. You add a lot to the HubPage team and I am always happy to follow you and your unique Hubs.

Hi Mike, wow, is this the 3rd time you are giving me such high recommendation and praise? I feel so "elite"....lol

I want to thank you for this wonderful tribute and awesome explanation for what the elite team does. It's not easy juggling your own account, greeting others and guiding newbies. This is far more than a title and I would do it incognito if it were at all possible. Thanks again for the wonderful hub, I am sure many people reading now understand the role of the volunteer team.

      Happy Sunday!
