Simple tips for Hubpage traffic and reasons for decreasing traffic arrows

Updated on December 14, 2009

Up's and Downs

I have not been a hubber for that long but the downward and upward arrows are not something to get too concerned about ,

for example say you get most of you traffic from America , your going to see that blue downward arrow when everyone in America goes to bed:) which is nothing to worry about.

The Up and Downward Arrows will change depending on

Time of Day - no one's visitng when there tucked away in there beds

Popularity of your Hub - your hub rating/score

How new your hub is - when your hub is new its more likely to show up in hubbers recent activites, it may also take some time for you hub to get indexed by search engines so when that kicks in you should start seeing more visits.

Factors effecting hub visits

There are many things that can effect your hub visits whch in turn will effect whether ot not you see that upward or downward arrow.

- Keywords

keywords are very important to getting visitors to your site , I recommend using a google keyword tool to find out the most commonly searched terms relating to your hub topic , and focusing on these keywords can help search engine's show visitors to your site.

- Tough Competition

It can be tough to compete with all the thousands of hubs already out there and sometimes writing a hub on a similar topic to someone else may not get you many visits as the other hubs would have higher scores and be much more popular than yours before you even begin.

- Unique Content

As always using unique content or trying to write hubs on a niche topic can dramatically increase your traffic.

Bringing back the Traffic

A great way to bring traffic to your hub is by promoting it and there are many ways you can do this some of my favourites are

- Articles : To improve your hub rankings many hubbers will post similar related articles to article sites such as searchwarp and ezines to increase traffic to there hub articles, the best way is to write a short article giving out some information but not all that encourages readers to visit your hubpage to find out more information.

- Social bookmarking

another way is to submit your hubs, blogs to popular social bookmarking sites such as, this method used to work extremely well but its a bit hit and miss at the moment because of the number of people spamming there affiliate marketing articles.

Another way to bring more visitors is to update or add content. This helps whenthe search engines come looking at all the sties with there search bots they will see new content on your hubs or site and it should improve it ranking.

aiming for highly searched keywords can help increase your hub visits so taking a look into that should benefit you.

Look into google trends to see whats been the most searched terms in the last 24 hours, week or month to write hubs aimed at those keywords.

well thats it from me , i hope I helped a little bit if its a relatively new hub dont worry about and give it sometime and if its quite an old hub maybe its run its course and may need new content or has too much compettion.

From looking at your hubs I would say its too early to be worrying about the downward and upward trends as it may take a while for the search engines to index the hubs and attract more visitors, goodluck

I feel a lot better after reading this. I started Hubbing a week back to learn the dynamics of Hubbing. It almost gave me a heart attack to see a blue arrow on every hub of mine today. Haha, but now I won't be too worried. Ups and Downs are part of life and can be managed.

Very useful tips. Is there a site for looking up google trends?

I think its all about the competetion. For example make money online niche is the most populated one so a newbie will never get anywhere writing on that topic.

Man! Expectus I had to come back and share with you how much this hub helped me in the last few months, I nearly rewriten all my hubs, Because it seemly defused or untangled my conpressed thoughts without as much confusion to what I should write first and what should follow what. Its amazing how I've learned to express my self with a great sense of fear of it not being good enough, by relaxing and just keep working it till I'm able to let it go. Well in my book your a Fonz, He gave us an image we could respect and help shape our own by.

I truly appreciate all of you, that really try to guide. Theres so much more to writing than I really thought, I'm just hoping I can retain it all, and still be creative with what I collected along the roads I traveled, I guess its ovious, I'm as lost in all this as a snell in the ocean.

Actually though I'm learning to take notes. THanks for your time, Your not the Fonz are you, I loved those Happy Days.

Fonz expectus :-) Thank you for information and encouragement here! I don't know how to nor think I want to do all that social networking even though it might help traffic. But since there is no money in it for me, and I do enjoy 'expressing', I believe I'll stay around and read good hubs like yours also! Cheerio and thumbs up to you!
