Introduction: key-word rich and content-rich search engine friendly articles

Writing articles rich in keywords, reader-friendly, search-engine-friendly and title-friendly is easy. But they are certain rules that make your articles get the limelight.

I will here make a summary of these rich-contents. It implies that your articles must contain a minimum of

  • 1750 words.
  • 3 relevant “high-resolution” photos (minimum), the maximum is 6.
  • 1 video made by you or provided by the website or Hub pages.
  • A map, relevant to the article.
  • A table comparing and analyzing data and facts, or explaining the subject further.
  • A poll, or a quiz relating to the story.
  • Customized summary of the story in 150 characters for the search engine.
  • An “attractive, logical formatting” or layout supported by the website.

These are general guides.

When you are about to write an article, write with these points in mind. Also, check the specific requirements of each web site when submitting your draft for publishing. For example, HubPages now required you make the layout of your stories in the American Psychological Association, APA format. One implication of this is that you should write with clarity and simplicity for your reader.

Many online visitors are searching for information. The above resources can help them relieve their curiosity. So if a reader lands on your article or pages, but could not find any useful information, he/she can turn elsewhere. Hence, when writing your stories, make them informative. The information must provide solutions for a problem. Your information must be insightful and unique.

Make every title, sub-title, head, and sub-head of the article relate to the whole content. These titles including that of the head title should be short and “descriptive” titles, captured only in four to ten words. Count the words in the subtitle of this capsule. I do not go beyond ten words.

Having said this, I think you now have an idea of what keyword and rich content search engine friendly articles are.

Your tools for writing rich text

Business entrepreneurs required some amount of money says, $10,000 as initial capital to invest in any venture. Writers are not exempt. Writing is a business.

All that you will need in the first place is a pen and some sheets of paper. Some prefer a spiral notebook. This you will use to jot down and write your idea in an outline.

Do you have a laptop or computer notebook? Are you good on the computer keyboard? Again, a little investment on how to handle the keystrokes is a wise move. It will cost you $200 to get laptop and training. Or teach your self how to master the computer keyboard.

I did this many years ago. I can now do all my typing work and review same.

Ideas, yes, you need them very plenty.

Begin to brainstorm on what you are passionate about. Ideas exist everywhere and at times comes by inspiration. What are you passionate about? Is it cookery, or gardening, or swimming, or fashion designing?

What about your hobbies? You can get many ideas there to start a good story.

However, what you are interested and passionate about is what will make your success.

What about your expertise on the subject? What about your experiences? Bring all these out into your writings.

Write in simple terms. Write for your readers. Give them the information, solution, and what they want. Above all else, make your articles, informative, educating and insightful.

Adding keyword rich content

content is king online. This opinion is originally expressed by Google, the dragon search engine.

How do you get “engaging” content into your hub(s)? It can be a struggling problem to all writers trying a hub on Hubpages for the first time. It has happened to me.

Nonetheless, HubPages has made this engagement easy enough and amplified it for you to add content in an exemplary way.

So, anytime you want to add content to your stories, you will find this in capsule form and add your ideas imaginary or real.

If you migrated to the hub pages learning center, you will learn various ways to enter content.

At the beginning of my story, I engaged you with at least 8 contents capsules. But you can see that at your page when you begin to write, 18 capsules are available for you to add; and from these, you can be opined what content is all about.

Pick 12 to 18 capsules for your contents, including the 4 core capsules of text, photo, video, and comment. This is enough for a quality and quantity story telling. It is up to you the writer to develop each capsule for a quality text.

One more thing that should not be overlooked is this. Content is not the only king. Now, the user of your content is the king. But contents must be kept “evergreen.” So review each content with fresh ideas, new search words, issues and solutions that are up-to-date.

How to make your article search-engine friendly and title friendly

“To be search friendly, a title must be short and descriptive. We recommend four to ten words.” This quotation from the Hubpages tutorial February 28, 2017. Short and descriptive title ensure that the search terms typed into search engines meet Google and other search engine policy. If your title is too long and vague, search engine spiders ignore them.

Here are examples of a good title:

• How to make a tea video

• How to write a rich text article

• 6 famous places to visit when in Nigeria.

Research your key words and ideas

Writing keyword rich text means you should write with your readers in mind. Do not just write for writing sake, or for search engines, or for money.

Search engines are not going to read your articles. They only look for contents and keywords. Write descriptive keyword rich texts that can match the search terms readers used to search information and answers to issues on the web.

Research how competitive these search terms are with google ad word tools.

Google's adword is a paid service.

Many free search word tools are there online. Here is a free service at:

Copy the link into your browser search box. Type your keyword into the search bar. The result speaks for itself. Then bookmark the site on your PC.

Try writing a topic on stretching. Hit stretch, stretching, stretching exercise and see. It is the related search terms that you use at the beginning, body, and end of the story. But do not overload search result in every sentence and paragraph of the subject.

If a search term is in earnest use, it is likely, those search engine robots will ignore them or the search result will not be reliable. The key word, 'stretching exercise', returns a zero response. You should settle on search terms that are in less use. This implies that the search term seems new and fresh to the search engine spiders. Search engine robots always sniff at new things on the web. So, write descriptive short search terms or sub-titles in all your article sub-headings. In other words, if you write naturally, your content will be flowing with search terms. The newer the search terms, the better your stories are found online.

Also, do not forget descriptive "long tail" search terms. The long tail search terms are more than two words. These can be three to five words. Make them descriptive. For example, 'search engine friendly' is a long tail search term.

Then do your research on the subject you are about to write.

  • Use books and the library
  • Use the internet (blogs and websites)
  • Use Google books
  • Use Google Scholar
  • Use peer review
  • Use polls or quiz
  • Use oral interview'

The materials for research are too many to mention here. The internet is forever being saturated with new information.

But beware of doing all your research on the internet, especially on websites and blogs.

Research on educational institute materials and government organizations are very good because these have confirmed authorities to support your views.

Wikipedia is another useful research tool. It is free to use. Visit Wikipedia and type your search word, phrase or sentence into the search bar, and dig.

Peer reviews or scholarship papers are supported by confirmed "peer" scholars and professionals in higher education and the industries. Use it if you can get hold of any. Its contents are professional and educational by established authorities. Peer reviews inform and educated. It guides and instructed.

Constructive friendly and informative comments

How do you the reader view this article? Is it informative, educative, enlighten, insightful and helpful?

There is so much to write that writers are not able to see into the minds of the readers. Tell us what your views are. Your comments can help us make things better.

What do you like or do not like in the story? Then, we can use these comments as part of the re-view program. If you have any useful information not covered here, submitted same in friendly comment form. Happy reading!

Organised your ideas

Now and then you must organize your idea. Ask yourself what do you want to write, and how you want to write your article. Write with the reader in mind and not the search engines.

What is your idea? Is your idea real or imaginary? Is it evergreen? These are questions you have to address.

Remember our discourse here is how to write good quality articles. Stories that are title friendly, search engine friendly and rich in content and keywords. And remember this: content is king in the writing business on the internet.

Is your idea unique to you alone?

You have to organize it in a step by step algorithm format, or instructions, or directives that can be easily followed even by the very uninitiated.

Begin with the main theme and a sub-theme, if any that follows in sequence. Organize your ideas in very clear terms to make your story move with dynamism.

Research your ideas

No matter how unique your idea may be, research it. This is the norm in internet marketing, information marketing, content marketing, etc.

An author or writer, or newbie, has made a mark on it. You may see a new light on which no one has written a word or sentence. This will give a plus and add uniqueness to your article.

It will make your writings stand out.

As an example, read two or three articles on this subject or relating to it. What do you see missing in these stories? Can you identify any differing thoughts and make something good out of these? This is how to bring out that uniqueness. And it does not matter if the market is saturated, or over saturated. New products or stories must come on stream, or anything must be monotonous.

Research the market

After researching your idea well, research the market where you want to sell it. This is something that must not be overlooked or ignored. However good the quality of your article, rich in content and keyword, search engine friendly and so on, research the market well.

So, your research will tell you to write for a specific niche or market.

Do you have a niche or subject that fascinated you? Can you write passionately about it?

Or you want to write on writing articles to make money online, google this and see the result. These are your competitors. Can you beat them? Can you stand shoulder to shoulder with them? The market, of course, must be competitive like any other business venture. It does not matter even if you were a complete newbie in the field of writing articles. I did it and success. So I can go on doing it again and again.

So target a specific market or niche. In the field of sports, they are many niches or audience. Football, basketball, running, badminton and cycling. Target only one group say, basketball or football. Stretching and exercise is a specific niche market. Jogging is a specific niche. I think these few examples suffice.

Identified your target audience

After researching your idea and the market, what next? Identify your target audience. These can be youths, adult, and children. Specifically here, they can be website or blog owners; online writers and authors and newbies in internet marketing. And always remember when writing for online publications, you are not writing for an offline newspaper and magazine, but for a larger audience of a global community. So, your target audience or market is a critical factor.

More so, even if you are writing for a specific online community or forum, always have a global consideration, for search engines to expose your articles widely.

As regards this piece, the target audience could be writers who would like to go online to showcase their stories. Newbies could find it useful.

Write with your audience in mind always, even if these were children of school age between 13 to 15 years.

How to get your articles on a net work site

1. It is not enough to write good quality articles. However, excellent your articles are, there are bound to be mistaken in grammar and spellings. This is why you should take time to review your stories before publishing.

  • Correct every mistake in words and sentences
  • Correct errors in spelling and grammars
  • Correct every punctuation
  • Get the paragraph right.
  • Your article should try to be a "perfect" written up without mistakes in spelling, punctuation, sentences, grammar, and paragraphing.

Correcting mistakes in spelling, punctuation, grammar, word omissions is very tiring. But you should be persisted. Mistakes in word position like 'shouldpersisted' which are two separate words are common. At times, punctuation like; 'John, has gone away' where they should be a space after John or the comma is quite common. These mistakes need to be well corrected before publishing or the score will be low. If possible, review your write-ups for over 10 tens to check the grammatical errors.

2. But you can take this to next level with a grammar checker here

http://www.grammarly.com

It will check all grammatical mistakes clearly. Download and install the tool free.

3. Do not copy other authors. Doing so is stealing their works. Be original in your writings. Brainstorm and wrote your thoughts, ideas, opinions gathered from comparing other authors works and insightful research. Be original and input expertise in your writings.

4. Write with your readers in mind. Articles are not made for search engines to read, but for the online visitors. They come seeking information and solution. You have to bear this in mind always. Many website visitors need help to lose or gain weight. So, use short descriptive keywords to match the search terms they type into the search engines.

5. How do you format your title and subtitle? Is it in APA system? HubPages required you do so. Are you compiling? Do so and you will be one of those writing quality articles for publishing on Hubpages and other online sites.

6. Bring your expertise and experience to the story. If you have experienced health challenges and you have found a remedy for it which orthodox medicine has failed, bring this into the story if it provides a solution for others.
