All about Dorian - another Lensmaster
Lensmaster since 2010
My name is Dorian and I started on Squidoo in 2010. I started shy, but only to realize that Squidoo is a great way to write, if you have something to say. In time, I realized the full potential of Squidoo for people who like to write, and why is Squidoo one of the best platforms to write on.
This lens is an attempt to complement the profile, and I wanted to write it because it is more flexible and I can be more comprehensive.
Computer Network Administrator
What? Computer Network Administrator? How come you don't write about computers? Actually I do have a lens about How to completely delete a Facebook account.
I have been working as my day job as a NetAdmin and various other related jobs for more than 10 years. I am quite good at this, and I even have a blog about IT stuff: dorianblog.info.
As I am writing this, (June, 2012), most of my traffic to that blog was killed by the Penguin, Panda, and other search engine algorithm updates. They gave raised my traffic, enticed me to write more, then shut me down. Anyway, this is a very common an trivial story, you might already lived it.
I Love Coffee
I write about coffee because I love it. It is one of my favorite subjects to write about.
I love to try new beans, new roasts and new ways to brew it. I am picky about my coffee, and a bad coffee in the morning would be as bad as none.
I brew my own coffee at work, many times, because I don't like the drip coffee, and I get a lot of comments about it.
Sometimes the first coffee sip would just reanimate me as coffee would be some kind of magic fluid.
My Favorite Single Cup Coffee Maker
This coffee maker is the best hybrid between a rel espresso machine and a single serve.
I love it because the coffee is very close to that real espresso taste, but is easy enough to use it and is not extremely expensive.
Massage Therapy and Me
I worked as a massage therapist many years ago, and I loved it. Life has changed my path and I guess somewhere in a corner of my soul I have never got over massage. I still massage my family and friends and I absolutely love to popularize the subject in any way possible. I talk to people, I write, etc...
I actually discovered my passion about massage when I was about 10 years old. I started to give massages to family members and take their pain away. As you figured out my massages were purely intuitive, something that will change many years after this, when I went to a massage school. After the school I practiced a few years and then changed career.
My view about massage is opposed to the general trend on massage nowadays. Massage today puts a strong emphasis on pure bodywork, work on muscles, joints and any tissue with the intent of obtaining mechanical changes that translates in physiological changes. In other words, when you massage a muscle you push more blood which accelerates the healing.
I think that the real value of massage is with the techniques that work on the nervous system, triggering physiological changes in our body.
I wrote a lot about massage at www.head-massage.net, until Google decided my content wasn't good enough to be on the first pages.
Spoonk Mat - DR OZ BEST ADVICE EVER!
I was always against massage gizmos, but this pressopuncture mat is the best investment you will ever make
