This is just an assumption as I do not experience writer's block but I do think some people stress themselves-out too much when it comes to writing. I just write. I know what I am going to write about before I sit down to write thus, there is no writer's block.
Just let it flow, that's my opinion.
Probably writers' block is more often not likely to happen to those who have never heard of writers' block. Once you hear about it you begin to wonder whether it could affect you as well. Then ... the mind duly obliges! the mind being the master enables Murphy's law to set one foot in. That's it! Ignorance helps too!
I would say it is a particular mind-set. Once you start telling yourself you can't write anything worthwhile you'll find it very difficult to get over that.
i think sometimes people simply lose inspiration. or motivation. they have the desire, or perhaps think they do or are being pressured to write. pressure to write kills inspiration faster than anything. it does not matter if the pressure comes from outside...or from self. the best way to remove pressure is to change the mind set. do that by changing priorities. realize what is more important. if you write a good quality story that really makes you happy, really makes you feel good inside, then chances are it will have the same effect on others. write about those things you are knowledgeable on. you can write best on those things. people are not fools and can see right through ignorance. and believe me, nothing ruins a good story faster than an authors ignorance.
As a writer, I've never suffered from writer's block, but I've talked to many writers who have. Their explanations seem to always include these phrases, "I just can't think of anything GOOD to write.", "I've written a paragraph but....I don't know where to go from here. I don't know what else to say.", and "You can pull water out of an empty well. I'm on empty!"
I'm just thankful that I've never gotten to that point of being empty, or unsure of how to proceed, or unable to think of anything good to write. I honestly have the opposite problem...finding time to write everything I want to write! haha
