Adsense payments, how does that happen?

Google Adsense:- I am in the UK, does that cause a problem? Also, perhaps I am not looking in  the right place but, endulge me; a newbie.

Do I have to actively select ANY ads for my Adsense account? Or does the system suggest ads. Finally, being in the UK, Amazon USA were willing to pay me via gift certs etc. All ways were not what I wanted. Ideally I would want a Paypal Account or the Google version.

You do not have to select ads. The system will do it for you.

Once you reach $100 USD in earnings, Google will send you payment either by check or by direct deposit. Google does not use Paypal.

    Hope that helps

Always concerned I am missing something when I come up empty on an enquiry. Being in the UK and not a prolific buyer off Amazon USA, I can't really see how I can be conveniently paid. Once you pay packaging if, the vendor will send to the UK, itis not worth the bother. The last time I checked, the British banks took a considerable chunk out of payments from abroad for converting e.g. dollars to '£s'.

I did have a Google payment account in another life, that worked well when I paid someone in the USA, never tried it the other way!

Thank you... I am now better informed than I was, see what happens.

I'm also in the UK and it's not a problem at all. I get paid my adsense earnings by direct deposit into my bank - easy peasy smile The threshold is £60. All you need to do is add your adsense ID in your affiliate settings and then ads containing your ID will be displayed automatically 60% of the time: https://hubpages.com/my/earnings/affiliate/

Amazon is a bit of a pain - I get paid by cheque in US dollars  and the threshold for that is $100. Most banks will allow you to pay in a foreign cheque, but they will charge you. I'm with Santander and they charge a £10 flat fee for each foreign cheque I pay in.

Getting paid by gift certificate is not really worth it unless you use digital products e.g. kindle book downloads, because shipping products from the US costs a lot.
