Can I link to my own hubs in an 'Answer?'
When I answer a question in 'Answers', is it acceptable to encourage traffic to my hubs by including links to my hubpages, if they are relevant? Or is this regarded as being self-promotional?
Here's the answer: http://hubpages.com/faq/#answers_links
You may include links to relevant resources in short answers, but affiliate links are strictly prohibited. Short answers containing links to unrelated Hubs or other sites that are irrelevant to the question at hand may be entirely removed by an administrator, and your account might be subject to a ban.
Thanks for your answer tritrain. One of my problems was understanding what an 'affiliate' link is. I think I understand it is to do with coding to reveal sources of traffic to other websites? I am not very computer literate!, but from what you say, I take it a simple link just to my own hubpages is acceptable, if they are relevant to the question and answer. That would be all I would want to do. Cheers.

I am not looking to name names here as this happens quite a lot on Hubpages, but can someone please clarify whether or not it is against the rules for a Hubber to come to your hub, leave a comment and then include a link to one of their own hubs as a part of that comment. I know it says under each...

This topic has been raised a couple of times in other threads, I thought it was worth posting as a separate topic to get more attention. We all know how important backlinks are. Current thinking is that simply exchanging links (site A links to site B and site B links to site A) is a...

I've had links to my own related hubs snipped on several occasions (mostly blatant lists at the end of a hub), but some links have been left in place after several snips. So is it acceptable to include a link to a hub which may be very relevant to the specific content in a section of a hub, if it...

If this is not the correct place to ask my questions, please let me know where to go on HubPages, or if I should send an email to the people running HubPages.A few months ago an expert hubber with lots of experience and success for a time offered free critiques of hubs in one of the forums. I asked...

This hub:http://dzymslizzy.hubpages.com/hub/The- … land-CurseHas, for the second time, garnered the "malicious links" warning. I have checked. THERE ARE NO MALICIOUS LINKS IN THAT HUB!! They are all perfectly legitimate links to the original reference sites I...

I am working on one of my new websites - and I want to link back to my hubs here. How many times is this OK to do on a website page before it is overkill?
