Creating dupiicate articles will be viewed as a negative from Hubpages and more importantly your Google and Search rankings. Google is only interested in "Original Content" Once Hubpages finds out, which they will, they will red flag it as a duplicate and un-publish the article.
You have to decide do you want to write for Hubpages or your site. I have the same desire to post what I write on my web.
What I do is place links on my site and I took it one step further, by adding RSS Feed into my blog. So some of the content shows up, but if you click on it brings you to your Hubpages Hub. This is not viewed as a negitive from anyone.
