What is the flag button for?
I have noticed in the articles and profiles a button labeled 'FLAG'.
the flag button is for hubs and hubbers that need to be reported to the HP staff for spamming, or using hate speech, or any other violation. This notifies the staff and the hub or hubber is reviewed.
If you see something that looks like extremely poor quality or spam - you should flag it so that moderators can review it and see whether or not it belongs on this website.
Some of us try very hard to create very high quality material here - and if you, personally, wish to make money on this website - then you should also participate in "emptying the trash."
Like the others have stated, if you find a hub that think shouldn't be a hub for any of the reasons provided when you click the Flag button, click the Flag button and flag it.
I often read the latest hubs published and I probably flag about one out of every fifteen hubs I read as new hubbers who post their first hub may not know about the rules, or have very poor writing quality due to English not being their second language, or using too much texting language.
For reporting someone or a hub if it violates HP's terms. It's the same as with the other forums have.
It is used to bring to the attention of the moderaters something which you feel violates the hubpages terms and conditions. I hop hubs every other day and out of every 18 or so I read, I flag one on average. Once you click the "flag" button there are a list of options to choose from. It could be very bad grammar, not written in English, poor writing, overly promotional etc. Once flagged, the moderaters will review it.

There are two newly discovered hubbers who have only posted raw translations by using online translating tool, what they did was merely copy and paste the results without doing any further modifications. From the comments they replied, you can tell they don't really understand much English. Even...

Along with the Google effect lately I've seen a lot of forum posts about spam, and every time I hub hop it is obvious that there is a lot submitted here of both spam and simply substandard hubs.I would suggest that the following rules apply to the first 5 (or 10 or 20?) hubs by any new...

I have encountered a very poorly written hub, the spelling and grammar was bad and the sentences were incomprehensible. The hub has less than 300 words in total including the title (268 words exactly) and has more than 15 none-English words. I had to check the hubber profile; the hubber has 12...

Happy Friday, Hubbers!Next week we will be raising the quality threshold for newly-published Hubs (meaning newly-Featured Hubs will, on the whole, be of higher quality) and will also be giving Featured Hubs (for those with high Hubber Scores) longer grace periods- up to a year for some.More...

I'd like to suggest we get rid of Hubber Score - and perhaps even Hub Scores. They:- are constantly misunderstood;- cause a lot of upset and grief in the forums; and- encourage newbie Hubbers to direct their efforts in entirely wrong directionsFor instance, I've known newbie Hubbers stop...
