Why don't I get any hits from Yahoo, but I get a lot from Google?
Is there a special combination that will help me to optimize my content for both search engines?
I tried registering one of my websites with yahoo and they asked for a $600 payment to be on their search engine for a year. It's free on google.
I am not sure where I've seen the statistics, but the overwhelming majority of people use Google. Then goes Yahoo, then Bing, then all the other search engines. Don't remember the numbers exactly, but the difference is huge - something around 90% come from Google. All search engines have different formulas to how they rank sites, and there is nothing you can do for Yahoo separately. You do not need to pay 600 to be found on yahoo (commenting on the previous answer), - it costs $299 per year to get a good LINK from Yahoo, and this link will be counted by Google too, but you do not need this link to be FOUND on Yahoo. You need to submit your sitemap, if you are not found on Yahoo at all (that is, if you have a website). For Hubpages content you don't need to do anything.
Thank you for all of your help everyone! I didn't realize that nobody is using Yahoo these days.
I heard on the news this week that Google has most of the traffic, Bing has just passed Yahoo as second, and Yahoo is now a close third. Bing and Yahoo each take about !5% of traffic, and Google gets the lions share.
I had this same question and I asked in a few forums. The best answer I got is that Yahoo doesn't give much weight to new domains. Now that we all have our own subdomains, it will take some time to get recognized by Yahoo. And Yahoo doesn't crawl as frequently as Google does. So, it is better to submit your site/hub to Yahoo by yourself. The same goes to Bing as well. This is as much as I know. I am sure some expert can provide more info about this.

Hey Guys and Gals, Man, I have just about had it with the traffic issues here at the Hubpages. I have published over 100 hubs here in two years. I have won several awards, I have had over 10, 000 views, and I have a following of over 200 people. When this whole traffic loss debacle first occurred,...

I just realized that my Hubs get absolutely no views from Bing and Yahoo; however Google on the other hand still happens to send around 400 a day. Any idea why this is happening? One particular hub actually ranks extremely well on Google and gets me 50% of my traffic, I just searched for similar...

Since the Google changes the number of different search engines listed on my stats has increased, even though the overall visits are still down on what they were.Maybe the complaints I have read here about the problems of searching for topics on the new style Google's results are making people use...

I get a lot of traffic from the Search Engines and I see a lot of people asking how do I get listed in the search engines. The answer to that is simple I tell them. Yes I know the myth that you should let the search engines find you but I never have. One of my favorite sayings is " If you...
