In a short answer: nope. In my case, longer hubs often attract more traffic because they are FULL of information!
A hub cant be too long. In fact Google appreciates long articles but one has to be careful not to stuff the article with irrelevant information
I believe you write as the subject warrants. If you have enough useful information that will keep the reader's attention, then it won't be too long. Please don't stuff it with junk just for the sake of getting extra words.
I don't know about a hub being too long, KrystalD, but I do believe it can be too short - far too short.
I respectfully disagree. No one wants to read a dissertation online. I noticed many people posting incredibly long hubs with references. It seems like they are just posting their college essays rather than creating a unique post for hub pages. It is a total turnoff to me so I avoid them. It's better to be concise. If you are going to use previous work I recommend editing out portions that aren't absolutely necessary.
Yes, i do think a hub can be too long but if the hub is so informative that it holds the attention of those reading it can make up for the length.
Yes, if it loses the attention of the reader then the hub is too long.
Not if it is interesting and all of the information in it pertains directly to the topic. I like to know the detail that is included in some of the longer hubs.
The attention span of the majority of hub readers wanes after 1000 or 1500 words. Many times even sooner than that. So yes, a hub CAN be too long, which is why the HP scoring algorithm is set to take points off a hub's score for super-long ones, as well as super-short ones. Poetry seems to be the exception to the minimum word count rule.
Irrespective of word count, if your hub is having an interesting topic and awesome writing then go on for writing not the count
I think a hub should not be too long! or too short! It should be of a medium size and has a wonderful content.
Hub should be short and explain about topic. It shouldn't have more words.
Longer hubs often attract more traffic because they are FULL of information!
After some time, it gets too exhausting for our eyes and brain to keep reading too long hubs. It's smarter to split a long hub into several parts, in my opinion.
Yes it can be to long. I would say if you have a hub you want to make that is going to be very long I would make one hub and generalize it then make a bunch of other informative hubs that work with that main hub and then link them into the main hub. That way they will not be to long and if people want to pick out certain parts to read they can click the links to that subtopic of the hub. If the hub is to long readers attention span wont allow them to finish the hub and if that happens they probably won't rate up or give any input at all.
Yes and No! Hub can be too long when you have so much to explain because there are issues that contains a lot to share, so if such hub is long it would be more useful it would be as sweeter and interesting as watching a season film titled "24."No because it is not how far but how well, if its short and meaningful it would attract traffic but if long with no points it will definitely affect people from reading the next hub. Points are what good hub requires which would attract traffic not many words.
Yes, a hub can be too long. If a hub has informative content it should be broken up into a series (Part 1, Part 2, etc.) so that the content is digestable and holds the reader's interest.
Yes, though I have not seen one. I imagine a hub can be to long. If a hub is too long, then split it up into parts, and post the other parts as seperate hubs with a link to each in the origional hub.
I just wrote my longest one ever --4,999 words. I thought 5,000 might be too long.

I just published my fifth hub! This is the link here: http://cardia.hubpages.com/hub/Tips-for … arage-Sale However, I think it's a bit too long - over 1300 words! I've cut it down as best as I could, without taking out any vital information. What do you think? Is it a decent length, or too...

Can a Hub be too long?Hello! I was just thinking that perhaps the reason my Hub scores are lower than I’d like is that perhaps my Hubs are too long? Many of my Hubs are between 2700 & 3600 words. Are these Hubs too long in terms of what Google wants or HubPages...

what factors help you decide if a hub is too long? I know different styles of hubs based on topics and what not help determine how long it is going to be. I worry about what is to many words though.

Is a 4000 word hub too long?I have written a hub on a specific subject but it has ended up being 4000 words long. It is pretty detailed and there isn't really a way to cut it down. I did a few searches and there isn't much else written on the topic and nothing that covers it as thoroughly. I am...
