Why am I not earning more?
OK, here's the skinny on me. I've been at it for seven months, written 41 hubs, had 3600 hits and 250 comments. I've earned a whopping $8. Is this normal for newbys or is there something I'm missing?
The only thing that I can think of that would cause you to not have more money is the where your traffic is coming from. I am no expert on this site by any means. But, it has to be that all most of your traffic is from the site alone and people that are on this site are not going to be the ones to click on the advertisements. I would go to your account and check traffic sources and they may be able to help you pinpoint where your traffic is actually coming from.
Yes. This is normal but do not fear! When you gradually begin to rank up the Hubpages website, you will almost indefinitely notice a massive increase in earnings/views! Also don't focus so much on getting hits, as much as getting valuable traffic. It's better to get 100 viewers who make you $50 than 100,000 viewers who make you $5! (Just an example...) Good luck!
You are not in the boat alone. My earnings are relatively low, but I do hear many speak of them rising as time goes by. Not sure of the time frame. The words of encouragement from drspaniel help keep me in a positive frame of mind.
Your traffic levels are extremely low. (only about 500 page views per month) What you are seeing is standard for that level of Hub performance.
People who are earning strongly get that per day for a single Hub (or more).
3600 hits a day or ever? I asked myself this for a long time - then it just started going up.

The flagship hub program has had some impressive results that have held up over time.
Hopefully, there will be a few ideas in there for you to think about. Go back and compare your hubs to the high-standards set in these posts. Can you see anything you should change?
seven months is still pretty new it usually takes about a year to see real earnings. plus you have got to choose good keywords that have more people searching for.
Juts to add to the other answers, and I agree that your views are extremely low. For seven months you should have gotten more views by now.
What you need to get is search engine traffic and you don't seem to be getting much. You need to optimize your articles to get traffic from outside HP. Here are some tips:
(1) Make sure you title has your primary key words
(2) make sure you place other relevant keywords throughout your article
(3) your tags must be relevant to your hub
(4) if you are using photos place tags on them too
(5) Use the social networks and bookmarking sites that you can. HP provides link to some of them like facebook, reddit, stumbleupon. digg etc.
(6) make sure your grammar and spelling are up to par
I'm very new at this, so I don't really have anything contribute. Looks like some solid advice in here though - thanks, everyone.
I am new here. I have read quite a few hubs about people making a great deal of money at hubpages. I'v been wondering what happened to those hubpages users who still haven't scored their goals after months/years of trying. Thank you for posting this question. You have collected some very useful answers here.
Yes, thankyou very much, all of you. Mind you, I'm not complaining. I have had so much fun on HB, that's payment enough. But, hey, if there's money to be made, I'd like to make it. It will be a few days before I process all the data you've given me and try it.
If any of you have read one of my hubs or gone to my profile, you know that my field is the Christian faith and its practical application in our lives. Somewhere I read that religious hubs are the least lucrative. So be it, I guess.

Maybe most of your traffic came from the hubpages community and you will not earn revenue from hubbers even they will comment a lot. We earn revenue from traffic coming from the search engines. And even if your traffic came from the search engine it is really low.
Let us do the math;
3600 hits divide it by 7 months= 514 + views for one month
514 divide it by 30 days= 17+ views a day and as I said if most of your traffic came from within the hubpages community, how many came from the search engines?
More traffic is needed to earn more

Hi,I've signed up and am ready to start making hubs in my specialised subject, but I was wondering what the earning potential of hubbig (if that's a word) actually is. I realise it all depends on how attractive your pages are and how good they are etc, but what are people actually earning? I am not...

I have had the lowest earnings from since the time I first made anything on HubPages as of late. I took a look through the forum and couldn't find reference to others having the same problem. What I'd usually make in one day, all of a sudden it is taking me a week to make. Is anyone else getting...
