Good question. I don't know an absolute answer. What I have done is unpublished about 1/3 of my hubs. There views have diminished checking here and at Google Analytics. There scores were below 70 for longer than 3 months. Some I feel have value. Some were experiments. Some were just flashes to publish. Some are linked to by other hubs. Many are poems.
A long way to giving you an answer - YES. Consider what entropy is in the land of communication. Cause a little Chaos and observe. The only hitch in my eval process is it worth it vs. writing a new content rich hub. Or, how 'green' is it or can it be recycled gaining value or what would the Return on Investment be. What intrinsic value is there for a long term gain.
Most of my hubs have strong hubpage readership. Yet, I do and know very little of SEO techniques. So, my strongest question I ask myself is how 'green' is that particular hub regarding the greater market potential the 'internet or world wide web.'
