Have you taken part in the 30 Hubs in 30 Days challenge? How did it go?

Did you make a diary Hub of your efforts?  How did you make time for it in your life?

I did the 30 Hubs in 30 days challenge and it was very successful. I love a challenge and it kept me motivated to complete all 30 in 30 days, which I did do. It helped me to write a hub about it in the beginning because I got a lot of encouragement from other hubbers, and that helped me to stay motivated.Once I finished the 30 hubs within the time frame, I was surprised that it seemed so easy once I was done and looked back at the experience. The best tip I can give is to not feel like you have to actually publish 1 each day, but have a bunch in the works and save them if you don't have time to finish them. Some days I didn't have the emotional energy to complete ones that took a lot out of me, so on those days I would complete one that was more fact related, and go back to the other ones when I was in the right frame of mind.

Yes, and I did make a Hub of my efforts, but all I did was add a link and description as I wrote each Hub.  I didn't feel the ins and outs of my efforts to write would be sufficiently interesting in the long term.

You'll note I decided to focus on a single subject for my challenge, which made it more interesting.  If you're going to write on a variety of subjects, you might not be allowed to make a diary Hub with links, because the links would be "unrelated", which is against HP TOS.

Where exactly is this challenge located at? I have written at least 1 hub a day since the start of the year. =P

I tried it twice, and only made it once.  The first time, I chose a bad time of year--it was right around the December holidays--that was not a smart move on my part.

The next time, I succeeded, but just by the skin of my teeth.  I think I came in with hub 30 on day 29.  A day to spare!  Whew!

It was an interesting experience, but I don't think I'd do it again.  It became stressful, and a bit too much like writing assignments from back in my school days, which is to say, it took a lot of the joy out of writing, because of the "have to do it" pressure.

Of course, there were no teachers breathing down my neck threatening my grades if I failed, but I was under my own pressure, as this time I had to prove to myself I could complete the challenge.
What it did do was give a major boost to my traffic and readership.  Next time, if there is one, I believe I'll write out the hubs at my leisure, an extra one here and there, and have a stockpile ready to go.

(I was informed by an authoritative source, that, that is NOT considered "cheating.")
    ;-)

I did it at the very beginning when I first signed up with HubPages. I probably should have waited longer. My hubs could have been higher quality if I knew more about HP and also by participating in the challenge I was really stressed by the end of the 30 days and then unofficially quit from writing for a long while. I just started up again recently and now am writing on my own terms, when it's convenient and when I feel inspired.

For those who embark on the 30/30 challenge (or any personal challenge), it is an experience filled with ups and downs. Great motivation and positive attitudes become bombarded by life challenges. Picking back up to move forward is productive, but time becomes a sneaky antagonist. Success or failure, the experience is worth it! read more
