How do you use research in your hubs without plagiarizing?

When you research information for your hub, how do you cite the sources that you use? How do you give credit? Sometimes I read hubs with info that is evidently researched information, but it appears to be summarized by the hub author with no credited source. In print work, this would be considered plagiarism. Don't the same rules apply for material on the web? I usually write about things I know about so little or no research is involved. I need to learn more about the rules of using research in hubs and other web articles.
