You write and don't worry so much if other people will like your writing. Just write...then by and by, you would perfect your skill ...
Thanks msorensson for great suggestion. I will consider and follow your instructions.
You are a writer, the second you decide to be. You are a professional, the second someone is willing to pay (not just money, opportunity cost, etc) to read your work.
Begin writing about things that interest you the most; those that your are most passionate about. Write each day, perfecting your writing skills, and choose easy to develop topics. Use the writing process, and always proofread your writing.
Write, write, wyrite -- certainly. But I would add read, read, read. And read things that are well-written. Start with the classics, so that you will have some sense of the language and how it has developed and is developing. Get a good grammar reference book and use it. Talk to people who express themselves well. Keep a notebook of new words and add some to it every day. Use the dictionary. Read your writing aloud to someone who will listen and discuss it with you. It is a long involved process, but I know of no other that is as rewarding -- not necessarily monitarily. It is never complete, this learning to write. It will serve you as long as you live. AND, it will help you to clarify your thoughts. Good luck. Sandra Busby
Leena, just write from your heart and things will come out. You may have a few mistakes at first, but you will improve if you love writing. Everyone keeps saying you should read a lot, and maybe some should. Personally, I have read maybe 5 books in my life. As far as education goes, I haven't done anything education wise in English or Literature since high school. I just started writing when I retired 2-1/2 years ago and activly when I joined the hubs. I am no expert and I'm not great at it, but I enjoy it and I have been told that I do fairly well. Just put your heart into it and speak your mind. Greg
All writers just write. Write all the time about everything. You also can't be a good writer without being an avid reader. Once you've got something worth selling make sure you get yourself an agent. If you're interested in getting published know that publishing houses won't even look at your work unless you have an agent.
I love all the positive support from this question you asked. I agree with the thoughts, just write from your heart. I also agree with the mentions on learning proper grammar, vocabulary and using edits (dictionary, thesaurus, and people) to perfect your work.
Write from your heart and things you know well and are passionate about. Try to write each day and not lets days or weeks go by without writing. The more you write the better and faster you will get.

How do you maintain a positive attitude and not give up on writing at HubPages? With the recent google changes, the virus alerts, and the viewer drops, how can a person stay upbeat and positive writing on here? I am beginning to question this.

as a writer? This is in reference to what others said on a different thread about why some people are leaving Hubpages. I thought it might be nice to talk about the issue not in reference to any particular hubbers who might be leaving. I have never been able to make money on my writing, but I don't...
